Pair of 19th century Old Paris Porcelain compotes in excellent condiition
A remarkable pair of 19th century Old Paris porcelain compotes in excellent condition. These rare pieces are remarkable for the wonderful piercing that animates the foot and sides of each compote. Allowing light to filter through. There are no chips, flakes or cracks other than an aneling crack underneath the rim of one compote dating from the time of the piece's firing in the kiln and not visible on the exterior. Each compote is decorated with four rondels bordered in gilt. The rondels are a celeste blue background on which appears pink and white roses(on the first) or lavender bellflowers and white flowers(on the second) The rims of each compote are further embellished with hanging trefoil designs outlined in gilt. Separating each rondel is an openwork lattice also outlined in gilt. There is general wear to the gilt on both pieces as ... moreis customary with usage and age of these pieces. The interiors are plain white glazed porcelain. There is some minor soiling of the interiors that could probably be cleaned with a gentle soap and water wash. Selling a set of 6 individual fine porcelain stemmed fruit bowls or compotes. Each piece displays different fruits. These are in excellent condition. No chips or cracks, however the pieces displaying the orange or tangerine has some wear in the center of the fruity. Each measures approximately 4 3/4 inches high and 4 1/8 inches wide. Both figures are in excellent condition; her basket has two lines inside(see 8th photo) while his has been restored(don't know to what extent though. See 11th photo) and slightly slants forward. A pair of old(guessing late 1800s) and beautifully hand painted porcelain compotes. Flowers are not from a transfer but actually hand painted/ Base of each compote is marked with an"a 70" but that is the only identifier. We think these are English. Each weighs abpit 1.25 lbs. We pack well in a fairly large box so the final weight will be about 4 pounds. The compotes are in excellent condition with the one exception of a small flake on the underside of a rim- see photo with an orange arrow pointing to that area. Otherwise there are no chips. Fine Antique Pair of Lerosey Porcelain 19th century French Compotes
These lovely porcelain candy dishes are decorated with Sevres style medallions depicting boys and girls in a rural landscape. The children appear to be dressed in 18th century clothing. The rest of the decoration is made up of alternating green. White, and gold areas. Both bowls are signed inside the stems and give a Rue St. Honorer address. These pieces can be dated to between 1850 and 1900. The tazzas are made of black basalt porcelain and are very finely gilt with gold embelishments. There is a gilt flower in the center of the bowl of each tazza and they are double handled. The compotes are mostly cobalt blue, with some white. Around the sides and around the lid are stunning floral vignettes in a thick gilded border, very colorful and detailed. Here's a wonderful and rare Old Vieux Paris Porcelain partial dinner service set made by Eduard Ed. Honore in Paris. France, circa 1830. This set consists of 8 dinner plates(about 8 3/4" to 9" in diameter) 2 footed compotes(about 8 3/4" to 9" in diameter) and a covered footed sauce boat or tureen(about 6" in diameter) They are white porcelain with an orange/salmon colored band and gold gilded accents. The compotes have gold monograms in the centers which look like"PS" Compotes and covered sauce are footed, with round bases sitting on three very large and fully gilded paw feet. Some of the plates bear the"Ed. Honore Paris" mark in green. Overall excellent condition with only slight wear to the gilding on some pieces, no other damage, cracks, chips. As they do not have the Imperial Porcelain Factory mark, I can only assume that this is true and am selling these as wonderful decorative items rather than from the historical service manufactured in the mid-1800's. While researching this pattern, before I sought the help of my friend above, I found some very interesting history on this pattern. The book, pictured above, has an illustration of the inspiration for the pattern. The book is"Moscow Treasures and Traditions" published by the Smithsonian Institute with the help of the Boeing Company in 1990. Pair of Dresden Schierholz Compotes Bowls Porcelain Pink Roses Footed Vintage
Beautiful pair of porcelain compotes- hand painted with applied pink roses. Little blue flowers and green leaves. The porcelain is ivory with gold trim. The bowls have reticulated sides and scalloped rims. Both have the Three Oak Leaves mark for"Porzellanmanufaktur Plaue von Schierholz" and are marked"Germany. Both are numbered 29. Approximate measurements: 6" across top of bowl. 4 3/4" tall, 3" across base. Some of the petals on the applied roses are chipped which shouldn't detract from enjoying these lovely antiques. Each one is 7 and 1/2 inches tall and 5 inches wide. Tiny nicks to inside of both lids and one has a slight spider crack to one side slight nick to one base.
