The gravy boat also has the"C" and the flower. But it is extremely diffcult to see with out a magnifying glass. I'm not sure about the age of the two items. I don't know what the makers marks stand for, but if anyone has an idea about that, I would really appreciate the information. They may be English Ironstone? The covered dish is in good condition for it's age, no chips, cracks or crazing that I could see. The gravy boat has a large chip on the side of the rim, it has a 1" hairline crack on the attached underplate, and it has crazing and some discolored spots. Can't say if they are microwave, dishwasher or oven safe.you will have to be the judge on that. These two items are NOT NEW, they are in antique or vintage condition so they do show signs of use consistant with their age Please use the zoom feature to take a close up look at all of the photos to determine the condition of these items for yourself. RARE 19th CENTURY ENGLISH WHITE IRONSTONE PEDESTAL HUGE 18" TURNING CAKE STAND
For sale. A Rare to find early 19th century white HUGE ironstone pedestal turning cake stand made in England. It has the makers mark on the bottom hard to read it. But can see"BISTO England" Their is also an impressed marking with a winged bird. It has a scalloped shaped edge with a turning nice pedestal base. It has some copper luster trim around the outer edges of the cake stand and pedestal base. It is 18 1/2" in diameter. Stands 4 3/4" high. The pedestal base is 8 1/2" in diameter, it has a large solid brass bolt and nut all original. This is like a Lazy Susan turning cake stand. Probably used in bakery or cafe. It is great used condition for it's age and use. It is well over 100 years old, normal crazing, and slight wear on top, their is a small chip that was repaired many years ago on the edge, please see ... morephoto's. Also a tight hairline on the pedestal base. Turns and displays wonderful. Selling as is. I have owned this Extremly RARE cake stand for about 30 plus years. A great Rare item to add to your collection. These are getting harder to find anymore. I have only ever seen one like it. Which I owed and sold some years ago.
