DEVONSHIRE VICTORIAN AESTHETIC ... moreMOVEMENT PLATTER, DEVONSHIRE Pattern, c.1884. DEVONSHIRE has an Anglo-Japanese deep brown transfer pattern with birds and daisies and is a multi-motif pattern. The center cartouches display hummingbird in one and a partridge( in another. Old Antique Brown Transferware Ironstone Small Platter, T & R Boote "Lahore"
Here's an interesting very old or antique small platter we received recently with some estate items. This one is a brown transferware oval platter about 5.75 by 7 inches in dimension. This is an ironstone type piece made in England with markings"T& R Boote" as shown n the picture. Our guess is this is from somewhere in the mid to late 1800's as it has a very nice simple or somewhat primitive decorative scheme. The pattern appears to be"Lahore" The piece is nice considerate of age with some light crazing and small darkening spots at the top edge and on the underside as we show in the pictures. No chips or cracks noted. That's about it. The pictures should be helpful to those having interest. We'll start this early or antique small serving piece low so enjoy the auction. When packed this will weigh about ... more1.75 lb so we'll use USPS parcel post service as the lowest cost postal alternative to the buyer. We have no packing or handling charge. Extra cost USPS postal services like Postal Insurance or Upgraded postal services are easily available should the winning bidder wish to make arrangements. As mentioned above. International Bidders should be aware that this item is not listed for sale outside the United States and we ask that International Bidder do not bid on this item. Please let us know if there are any questions. We will cooperate with winners of more than one auction to combine items whenever practical. Thank you for your interest and Good Luck!

Antique Brown Transferware Ironstone Aesthetic Movement Platter
This is a very nice brown transferware platter. With lovely patterned rim and handles. It is marked on the underside(see photo) but I cannot find this potter's mark. What I can suggest is that because it does not have a country of origin, if this is European, it would pre-date 1891(to comply with the McKinley Tariff Act. I just do not know exactly if it is European or American. This large platter measures approximately 15 5/8" x 11 1/4" x 1 1/4" high. See photos of the nicely done rim and handles. The random transferware pattern suggests the period of the aesthetic movement. The platter has a chip along the side rim. Mostly on the underside(see photo) and a tiny chip on the underside of one of the handles, which you cannot see when platter is upright. It has typical crazing and surface scratches and brown toning- all consistent ... morewith age and use. See photos. Could use a good soaking and cleaning.

Antique Brown and White Transferware Platter by Shaw's - 1853, England
Lovely old brown and white transferware platter. Manufactured August 8, 1853 by Shaw's. The platter measures 13 1/2" across by 10 1/4" tall by 1 1/4" deep. The pattern is"Peruvian Horse Hunt" and the center transfer as well as the cartouche scenes around the rim have exceptional detail. You get the sense of movement of the horses and you can read the expressions on the faces. On the underside is a fabulous stamp by the manufacturer. Including a registration mark that tells the exact date of manufacture. Those are its pluses; now to its shortcomings. It's been well-loved and has a large old crack evident on the underside(see picture#9) however. That crack isn't really evident on the front(see picture#10) What is evident is that the platter has a lot of crazing and the glaze has absorbed aging. It's ... morenot pristine white but rather a warm beige. The edges of the underside of the bowl of the platter too are worn. I think this is all part of the charm but I leave you best decide. The platter measures 13 1/2" across by 10 1/4" tall by 1 1/4" deep. I did my best to capture the style and quality in pictures. And to describe the piece as completely as possible, but if you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Please note that any errors or missing information is unintentional. I accept PayPal only. Please provide payment within 3 days unless we agree to other arrangements. Once payment clears. I will ship with insurance within 3 business days. The shipping fee might seem a bit high, but I package antique china in a box within a box to best protect your investment. No returns. If something is amiss. Please alert me by"Contact Seller" rather than leave a low rating. I want to resolve any issues rather than have my customers dissatisfied with their purchases.

Antique FOLEY Brown White Transferware Platter England Aesthetic Staffordshire
Description: Foley goes a bit edgy in the Japanesque composition of this Aesthetic brown transfer platter by eliminating a center design. The banded border is designed to appear like a series of tiles laid side by side to create a block and floral pattern. Add to this border a showy Japanesque floral spray and fan arrangement at the center of each side. And the result is a composition somewhat unique in the world of Anglo-Japanesque transfer. Mark: Backstamp, Date: 1870's-80's, Dimensions: Length 12 1/4" Width 9"
