Beautiful and elegant. L arge oval platter from Losal Ware. The mark on the back side says Keeling& CO Ltd. Cote Mayers, England Patent Applied For. The mark indicates the age from 1912-1936. It is an off-white with Emerald green or a dark apple green and gold design along the edges. It has some scratches on it, some fading in the colors, and crazing. But there are no cracks. This is fabulous dish that was made by Jacob Furnival. England, c. 1850. It is 9 3/8" in diameter and it is in the gorgeous grape pattern. Graceful pink and yellow roses painted on a muted gray flower background. Additionally roses were embellished with white paint strokes over the glaze- which I find unusual on dishes. Length 11 1/4" x 3 7/8" Height 1 3/4. This dish is in amazing condition giving its age. It does have 3 very tiny chips on the bottom rim(see pic) In researching the mark I found it stated in several places that ALTROHLAU(now Stara Role in Tschechien) was founded 1814 in Boehmen. From 1838 the pottery produced porcelain. 1884 it was bought by Moritz Zdekauer- a banker. 1909 Hutschenreuther took over the company. This is a beautiful. Antique, 1873-1904, Edge& Malkin, Italy brown transferware platter. IT is 14 3/4 x 12 1/4" weighs 3 Lbs 9 Ounces. It has no defects, no utensils marks, the spots at the top are paint under the glaze. It is marked as shown, also has incised marks, the number 14, the number 8, and text that I can't read. Some of these pieces are in the Brooklyn Museum. They are rare,especially in this condition. The scene shows people with animals near a city at the base of a mountain.The border is grapes and vines.

Normal 0 From a fabulous Connecticut gold coast estate comes this beautiful 15 3/8" X 12 1/2" English Gondola purple transferware platter with deep well for juices made in Staffordshire in the first half of the 19th century by an unknown maker. It's really in wonderful condition. Given its age. There is much shelfwear to the unusual ogee bottom rim and some minor glaze flakes to the outer portion of that rim. There are a couple of glaze flakes around the top inner rim, more felt than seen and shown in the last two photos. It's in otherwise excellent condition with no chips or cracks. It is unmarked and measures approx. 20" long x 16" wide. There are some light and minor brown marks with some minor spot glaze losses on front. Backside has light browning and age scuffing(see pics) Overall in VERY GOOD to VERY FINE condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Includes massive 13" x 18" platter(1 side edge chip) 8 3/4" x 12 1/8" platter(2 edge chips) 8 1/8" x 11 3/8" platter(1 underside edge chip and a few dark age lines) 3 total platters of very old mid 19th century English dinnerware in the very desirable Dresden Blue Onion pattern. The company was founded by Sampson Hancock. A prominent Wesleyan, in 1857 and was renamed S. Hancock& Sons(Potters) Ltd. in 1935. It closed in 1937, having been put into receivership on 23rd March. It was a relatively small enterprise, employing around 150 people. Sampson Hancock died on 9th May 1900 and was succeeded in the business by his sons, Jabez, Harry and Arthur. The ... morecompany produced tablewares and fancies for the popular market- its main income being from semi-porcelain and earthenware tablewares. Toilet wares, vases and vitreous hotel wares. Many of the products, including ironstone china, were for export markets. After WW1 the company increased its production of ornamental and decorative wares. These included children's wares and doll's heads. Boxed teasets for children were being produced by 1917 featuring popular nursery rhymes and pictures of children. Two designers of this type of ware were Molly Hancock and Edith Gater(see Designers below) The company also produced a range of crested wares. These being marked with the trade name The' Duchess' China or The'Corona' China and Grosvenor Ware. These may have been produced in quantity to see the company through the war years when skilled labour was unavailable. Pieces included animals. Small decorative dishes and Great War commemoratives, or had English or Welsh crests. Crested ware appears to have been made until the 1920s. THESE INSERTS DATE BACK TO THE 1800'S AND ARE HARD TO FIND. OVER THE YEARS THEY USUALLY WERE BROKEN OR LOST! I FIND THE 3 IRONSTONE INSERTS TO BE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. ANTIQUE W & E CORN PURE WHITE IRONSTONE PLATTER 16 3/4" long 11 7/8" wide
This is a pure white ironstone platter which shows little use! See the many photos of all the surfaces which show condition. There is one small scratch in the center that looks like it's from cutting something. There is a ripple in the glaze on the top outer rim which was done during the making. Also on the bottom there is a similar ripple in the glaze. This being said. I will say the condition is excellent. There is a lot of shine which is rare in these old dishes. The mark on the back is blurred but legible. I also have other pieces in my collection with this same mark but clearer. Royal ironstone China, W& E Corn, England" Highly collectible. 3 Pcs. Antique Opaque de Sarrequemines France White Faience Oval Platters
This is for 3 white serving platters(one is more bowl-like) All from the same French company that Napoleon ordered from and which designed most of the tiles used to decorate the walls of the Paris metro when it was under construction. Porzellanfabrik Utzschneider& Cie operated from Sarrequemines. Lorraine, France. They produced earthenware and porcelain. Faience of Sarrequemines is world known. It is a type of earthenware of high quality which is made to look like Chinese porcelain with its opaque white glaze. To tell if a piece is porcelain or faience. A chip in porcelain will remain white, while a chip in faience will be brown or beige. These are all marked on the underside"Opaque de Sarrequemines" with a crown and shield mark that was used between 1875 and 1900 by the company. 2 are additionally imprinted with mold numbers(see ... morephotos) The largest bowl/platter measures approximately 13" x 9" x 1 3/4" high. With an interior depth of approximately 1 1/4" Typical for its age and use, it has crazing and a couple of potter's inclusions which are beige-brown inside, therefore I believe it to be faience. See the photos for the mold number impressions on the underside and the brownish inclusion on the underside. It has some brown toning on the interior and rim, consistent with age and use. It does not detract from this beautiful piece, which otherwise has no other chips or cracks. The second oval platter measures approximately 10 1/4" x 6 7/8" x 1" high. It too has the typical tiny potter's inclusion on the upper rim. Crazing and brownish toning on the upright side. It otherwise has no chips or cracks. There is no mold number impressed on the underside of this one. The third oval platter measures approximately 10 1/8" x 6 3/8" x 1" high. It too has a couple of tiny potter's inclusions. A tiny hairline crack on the inside rim bottom, crazing and brownish toning front and back. No other chips or cracks. This one does have the mold number impresse

DESCRIPTION: Three(3) small 3 1/8" diameter hand-painted porcelain plates from Germany with decorative floral designs in center. One plate's border is primarily blue. One is primarily yellow, and the third is primarily cream. One is marked with the black Nymphenburg porcelain mark. The other two are part of the same set, but are not marked with the black Nymphenburg mark. They do have an imprint mark, however. See photos. I know they are antique, bought by my mother in Berlin, Germany in approximately 1946. My best guess is that they are saucers to demitasse cups. They would be nicely suited as votive candle holders, or ring or coin dishes. They might also be nice as dipping plates for Asian mustard or sauces. 3 Signed Antique RK Beck Black Bass/Trout/ Fish Serving Platter/Plates/Very Nice
Up for bid today we have a trio of vintage ironstone plates. Larger serving platter has a bass on it with a fly in it's mouth and measures 17 3/4' x 12 1/2" and has minor wear from years of service. Both of the other plates are 9 3/4" in diameter. One depicts a brook trout after a fly and the other a bass with a fly. All three plates have some minor wear but together are a terrific trio! This auction is for a LARGE Ironstone serving platter made by Edward Clarke. Tunstall, England between 1865 and 1877(making this great platter between 137- 149 years old! It measures 21 1/2" x 14 3/4" and weighs 6 pounds 8 ounces! Marked on the back with the Royal Coat of Arms, along with the words"DIEU ET MON DROIT" God and My Right) and"EDWARD CLARK, PORCELAIN, TUNSTALL, OPAQUE" This platter has the oldest Edward Clark English mark and is not a piece that was produced and marked for export to the U.S. as you see with some pieces. This platter is free from chips or damage. It does have crazing throughout. I got this big early ironstone platter at a small Maine estate sale last Sunday. It has an impressed mark on the back edge that reads"Ironstone" with something I can not make out preceding that. It des not stay flat as there was a slight roll in the make. It is fabulous on a plate stand. As they showed it at the estate sale. I do not have one big enough to use. It is very heavy. Antique Mason's Patent Ironstone Chinoiserie Platter # 3
The rarity of this 19th century platter is that it has green accents in the orle around the rim. The Oriental scene. Aside from the pagoda and houses and trees, the river includes a bridge being crossed by two characters, one of them with an umbrella. Dark blue, rusty red, salmon and black complete the attractive color scheme. Structurally, it presents no cracks, lines or restorations. It has been used in the past, consequently there are a few scratches here and there. The back has stains. Signed with the Mason's stamp. 17 1/4" x 13 3/4" Returns are not accepted.

Antique, early Minton POONAH platter set of 3 graduated circa 1840 ND2041-2043
Magnificent antique set of three(3) early Minton graduated platters in excellent condition. It is rare to find a set of platters and even more rare to find them in this condition. The colors are vibrant. Fine lines appear to be transfer and the enamel over-painting(sometimes called clobbered) is done by hand and is very skilled. On the rim there is a deep cobalt blue border with vermillion lotus blossoms and a mustard colored outline. Followed by a ring of vermillion lotus blossoms and pink peonies set in jade green foliage. On the flat surface of the platter there is a fine lined and stylized brown border highlighted with orange. The surface of the platter is adorned with peonies, lotus blossoms, foliage, an urn and a pedestal based platter. The flowers are delicately shaded. The platters are quite heavy. They have no chips, cracks, scratches, ... morecrazing or discoloration on the surface. However, they do exhibit some wear marks on the underside and the largest has some brown spots on the underside. This listing is for an antique white platter made by T and R Boote. T&R BOOTE Antique White Platter Inward Facing Design 13 3/4 in. x 10 1/2in. It shoes various signs of wear from use. But that is expected since it was made in the mid 1800s. It shows scuffing and wear. Minor scratches, and on the back a crack that has a brown tint( I pictured it) but it is not chipped. This is an ANTIQUE COVERED CHEESE DISH- MADE IN GERMANY- 9" x 7" x 4-3/4" FLORAL DESIGN. This gorgeous piece has been handed down within my family. Originating with my great grandmother. It has been described to me as"MINT CONDITION. It has 2 pieces: plate and cover/lid. Cover/lid measures 7-1/8" x 5" x 4-3/8" tall. Tray/plate measures 9" x 7" Cover/lid has white background with pink roses. Smaller purple flowers, green leaves and gold embellishments. Bottom of cover/lid and handle are medium/olive green. There is a small air hole placed under the handle. Handle is ornate and curved. Some molded design on corners/edges. Tray/plate has white background with medium/olive green trim. Some molded design around scalloped-type edges. Both pieces are labeled"Made in Germany. No other maker's ... moremark. This is a very old piece. Which is in excellent antique condition. No stains, chips, cracks, or crazing. Upon examination, there is some"pitting" little pinpoints in surface) along green bottom of left side of cover/lid(when looking at cheese dish front-on) and three little white spots- all of which appear under the glaze and probably occurred at time of manufacture. Tray/plate has several very muted brownish spots and a few white spots, all under the glaze. Please study photos and ask any questions.

Also I do not see any big chips or chunks missing. Only very few minor knicks. There is areas where there is rough texture(seen in the 10th picture) This platter comes apart in 3 sections. The top where the koi fish sits and than the 2nd platter and lastly the base with the last platter. The tiers just slip into one another and that is how they sit. These were definitely NOT made by the Royal Meissen factory which used the famous blue crossed swords mark. There were a number of porcelain factories in the Meissen area that were granted permission by the German government in the later 1800s to produce the Blue Onion pattern which was widely popular at the time and still is to this day. Unfortunately. I do not know the name of particular factory that made these. The platters measure roughly 13 3/4" long x 9" wide x 1 3/4" deep. This is a well used and well loved platter. It is large. 17 3/4" by 12" It is in a rectangular shape with ridges along the edges. It has sprays of flowers in a wine color at the top and in two of the corners. The scalloped rim originally had gold painted on it but most of that is gone. As you can see from the pictures it has a crack in the top left hand corner. It has brown staining on the front and the back. It has one small chip on the back tip of a corner. It is very heavy weighing over six pounds. The platter is marked on the back with an impressed mark but I cannot make out the name. It has crazing. 3 Large Platters Antique Paris Porcelain Pink Floral Hand Painted Estate 20" Three large graduated platters. Large platter measures 20" L x 13 3/4" W. Medium platter 13 1/2" L x 9 1/4" W. Small platter 11 1/4" L x 7 1/2" W. Condition: All in very good condition with normal amounts of wear from use. I find no chips or cracks. Wear to gilt edge. Excellent for serving large meals. Large platter is extremely heavy. I am listing several lots of antique porcelain in this pattern coming directly from a wealthy NYC 5th Avenue apartment. This was originally a very large set and included a number of different items for a large dinner service. All of the pieces are hand painted with a floral vine motif and gilt rim. High quality and well made.

Lovely Minton platter/plate in the pattern"Cockatrice" Featuring a large phoenix surrounded by cherry blossoms in the center and four floral cartouches surrounded by a green finely dotted border. One the right and left sides are extra scallops as"handles" indicating that the plate was more for presentation than a normal dinner or luncheon plate. The enamel work throughout is hand-painted. Please accept my apologies. The lighting wasn't good on the day I took the pictures. The colors are the traditional"Cockatrice" colors. With vibrant greens, pinks and aquas on pure white china. The back of each plate has the famous red Minton stamp and"England" Placing the date between 1890 and 1910. The platter measures 9" across from top to bottom and 9 3/4" across from side to side. It's in excellent ... morecondition, free of any chips, cracks, crazing or missing enamel, with the exception of a fleabite of missing enamel in the green border area, at about the 11 o'clock position. This is a beautiful example of flow mulberry in one of the most collectible patterns- Washington Vase by Podmore Walker& Co. This platter measures 13 3/4" x 10 1/2" x 1 1/4" It is in excellent condition. With no chips, no cracks, no crazing and no staining. There is minimal wear to the back(platters generally have scratches on their backs from sliding over tables in use) There is also minimal use scratches on the front. There are the standard stilt marks from the kiln(see my photo) This is one of my most favorite sizes of platter- it is so useful for dinners& parties and this piece is just beautiful with the most gorgeous deep color. Antique Limoges CFH GDM Mark 2 & 3 Game Serving Platter, 9 Plates, ca. 1882-1900
Vintage Limoges CHARLES FIELD HAVILAND/GERARD. DUFFRAISSEIX, AND MOREL Marked Game Bird Platter and 9 plates. This absolutely gorgeous set came to us from a recent estate sale and is the pinnacle of refined serving sets. The large platter is just over 19" X 11" and features a hand-painted game cock eyeing an unfortunate grasshopper- the colors are fantastic and the sculpted edges and handles are in superb shape. There is only the slightest hint of wear in the gold trim. The lovely plates are just over 8 1/2" and are hand painted with four different scenes: three have two plates each and the goose is a single plate. This can be seen in the photos. Each piece bears the CFM/GDM Mark 2 and 3 respectively; this dates them to ca. 1892 to 1900. This is a stunning set! This whole set is in excellent condition with no chips. Cracks ... moreor repairs!
