The foliage is done in cobalt and white glaze and three multi color butterflies- all amid waves of dots of glaze in 3 shades of blue. There are accents of gold glaze. There is a hairline fracture on one corner that has been mended and then very cleverly hidden with decorative design. This is a very well done and very old repair as shown in picture# 9 10 11. It measures 16" x 12" x 1 1/4" The following is what i found about the makers. Please read. Koransha and Fukagawa Seiji Fukagawa is a family. A brand name, a place and nowadays a porcelain factory in the Arita region. Its history goes back to the seventeenth century. Fukagawa is thus a part but not all of Arita. Its history starts with Ezaiemon Fukagawa who in 1856 became head of his family's porcelain business and in 1875 founded Koransha(The Company of the Scented Orchid) in Arita. Japan, to produce tableware for export. In 1894 the modern Fukagawa company was founded by Chuji Fukagawa. With the Fukagawa trade mark of Mount Fuji and a stream, as its trade mark. In the Paris International Exposition in 1900 Chuji Fukagawa won the medaille d'or with a large Flower Vase. Among many famous artists Kinsaku Ide. Shape designer, and the sculptor Toshi Ninomiya could be noted as having taken part in producing the Paris Expo 1900 prize-winning vase. Similarities in style with Hirado can be seen in some of the early(late Meiji period) Fukagawa pieces. But the Iro-nabeshima style(decoration in enamels such as the Ko-Imari style) is more common. Not all Fukagawa pieces were marked with the Red Orchid mark. Or Mount Fuji with a Stream. Some were simply written in red, but also in blue and could be marked with the character for

Antique Porcelain Fish Platter - Hand Painted & Signed - Z.S. & Co. Bavaria
Z.S. Co. Also known as Zeh, Scherzer& Co. was founded in 1880. My understanding of the mark on the back of the plate, from people who know far more of these things than I do, is that the green version of the mark, dates the plate between 1880 and 1918. This plate bears the green version of the mark. Additionally, according to Porcelain Marks of the World by Emanuel Poche. Item 505 of that book shows the exact mark that appears on this plate and says, REHAU, Zeh, Scherzer& Co. after 1880/ printed. Generally. When these pieces were hand painted, the artist would sign. This signed piece is signed on the front. Lower right side(my photos are a bit hard to see, but see the photos where the seashell is, the signature is below that) and I can make out"W. Mauss- the last three letters could possibly be"ner" or aek" but ... moreI cannot absolutely tell you those last three letters- need better glasses! And on the back of the piece, the initials"W.M. are hand painted under the Bavaria marking. Cabbage roses plates and little pink flower plates are abundant. This is very hard to find. I have seen only a few listings for fish dinner plates and only once have I ever seen a platter similar to this one- in a very upscale antique shop- also hand painted so not exactly this one. As I would assume each artist does his/her own thing. The rim is done in a gold border and shows only slight wear on one end, otherwise the gold is quite intact. The"under the sea" motif can be seen in the photos. The size is very unusual as well. The platter measures approximately 22 5/8" long by approximately 9 3/4" from top to bottom and stands approximately 1 7/8" from the table top to the rim. There are no chips. No cracks and it appears except for the tiny wearing of the gold on one end of the rim previously mentioned, to have perhaps never been used except for display. Absolutely fabulous piece of porcelain.

Limoges France(stamped on the bottom) It has scalloped and gilded edges with a rose motif decoration, and other than a small chip to the lip(with is hard to see) it is in beautiful condition. the clay has an impressed stamp that reads"T H.12" and there is also the nice clear glaze stamp on the bottom(see pic's) It measures 14"L x 10"W x 1 5/8"T. I am not sure what the crimped metal frame is. But I believe it is pewter. I cannot find any markings on either the porcelain or metal. The cobalt blue glaze decoration is done very well and the metal frame is in Excellent condition, but the porcelain does have some issues as shown in the pictures. I do not see any chips or cracks, but it appears that some moisture has seeped along the boarder in some spots and caused discoloration under the glaze. There are a few small surface scratches. I was told that it isn't Gaudy Dutch or Welsh(Gaudy Dutch is always earthenware; Gaudy Welsh can be earthenware or bone china) It is a fairly typical Japanese pattern made in England pattern. Maybe about 1840 and made of porcelain. this looks English not Japanese, but is a'Japan' pattern, based on Chinese and Japanese Imari patterns(as are Gaudy Welsh patterns) These were very popular from the early 19th century onwards. It doesn't look like hard paste porcelain, it looks like bone china. If it is indeed hard paste then it must be European, but it looks English to me. Antique English Blue& White Porcelain Platter c.1753 Marked Bletchley Description: Antique English Blue& White Porcelain Platter c.1753 Marked Bletchley. The back of the piece has"Bletchley" written in cursive blue type. Where my pointer is by the Bletchley name. There appears to be a faint date of 1753 and another symbol nearby that I could not make out no matter my best attempts with jeweler loupes could not get it to show up in my pictures. I believe the soft paste may have filled in the etchings during kilning. Condition: The piece is in great condition considering its age. I have taken pictures on just about every angle and can send more should you desire. There are some minor chips along the edges that can be seen more easily from the rear as opposed to the front. I have positioned my pointer in those areas. There ... moreis suppose to be gold trim along the handles but enough is left so that the pattern is evident should a mild restoration be desired. Personally. I would not restore anything except repainting the gold trim along the handles. There's is some mild bluring in the blue cobalt, what you'd expect from a piece of this period. There are two rust spots on the front that appear black in the pictures, but under slight magnification are actually very brown. No cracks, major chips, or repairs. Dimensions: The piece is approximately 10" long. 9" wide and 1.5" in height and weighs about 590 grams. Comments: My research has led me to believe this to be a custom piece that may have once belonged to the estate of Browne Willis. Lord of Bletchley Manor, England. This gentleman was among the richest and most powerful people in England and most certainly in the small town of Bletchley at the time. He had a mansion built in Bletchley in 1711. He was an avid collector of coins, written works(author as well) antiques and porcelain as it was very desirable at the time. The bowl is 10 1/8" long. 6 1/8" wide and 5" tall.The platter is 19" long and 13" wide. Handed down through my family is this Unique Porcelain Ice Cream/ Dessert Set. It belonged to a Great Aunt(born early 1890's) But exact age is unknown. After some research, it is possibly Old Paris, or maybe Limoges. Unusual and Unique subject matter with the cute frog scenes. The Platter measures 13" X 10 1/4" X 2" There are 8 Saucer Bowls that measure 4 7/8" I can't be sure if this is hand painted or transfer designs with hand-painted highlights. But coloring is good. I am unsure of the exact manufacturer of this platter since Minton. Davenport, Rockingham, Copeland, Ridgway, and several other companies made similar pieces during the time. The platter features a hand-painted topographical scene in the center with hills, buildings, sheep, and trees and it is surrounded by four geometric cartouches in bright magenta accented with gold gilt designs. Antique Hand Painted Art Nouveau Porcelain Platter/ Plate This beautiful platter is painted in opalescent lavender with raised gold decoration and has raised/embossed"feathers" along its edges. It has pierced handles and measures 10 1/2-inches(handle to handle) by 9 3/4-inches. It does not have a back mark and has no indication of its manufacturer. The symmetrical style. Colors and execution lead me to believe that this plate is probably from the Art Nouveau period(1890-1910) I think it is most likely a German piece. The platter is in excellent antique condition. It looks as though it has hardly been used. The raised gold decoration in the center has slight to no wear- there is a little bit of age wear to the gold trim along the very edge of the plate. Condition: Used Gorgeous antique 19th century porcelain and copper large oval lidded warming serving platter/tray. It's got no markings on it that I could find. But I've found several that are almost identical that say that this is from The Buffalo Mfg. Co. The copper bottom has an opening to put in hot water to keep your food warm. It's in nice condition for it's age, free from any breaks, chips, or cracks. The copper body of the warming piece has some slight scuffs and dings to it, so please examine the pictures carefully. The porcelain platter inside has some crazing which isn't unusual in older pieces of glass. Please examine the pictures closely. I've not tried to clean this piece up, but it should shine ... moreup nicely. It measures about 3 1/2" high by 16 7/8" long from handle to handle. Antique porcelain ironstone creamware moss rose pattern cake plate platter
For your consideration today is an antique porcelain cake plate or platter. This plate appears to be a thick porcelain- maybe ironstone or creamware- thicker and heavier than a fine bone china would be. In the center of the plate is a victorian era style moss rose design in pink with yellow highlights and greenery. There is a very slight extension of the plate where the platter handles are- this area is embossed in the china and further enhanced by the gold painted design on either side. Finally. There is a thin gold highlight all around the rim of this cake plate. The plate is in very good condition- gold highlights are worn as you would expect from usual wear and appropriate for age. There is a glossy glaze on this plate and evidence of just a very few small scratches less than 1 inch each- no chips, crazing, cracks, stains or other problems ... morethat we can see. The plate diameter is 9-1/8 inches and if the handles are included this increases to only 9-3/8 inches across.so, handles extend only about 1/8 inch from the plate on either side. Moss rose colors are rich and do not appear to be faded. Plate is not marked although there is a small painted'x' on the back of the plate(see pic) This would make a nice addition to an antique moss rose collection.or just a nice vintage shelf piece for your country home. Antique Alfred Hache & Co AH&Co Vierzon France White Porcelain Oval Platter
Alfred Hache& Co. started producing porcelain in Vierzon. France in the last quarter of the 19th century. This white oval platter, which measures approximately 11 1/2" x 8" x 1 1/2" high, is stamped in green on the underside with overglaze, A H& Co, V, France. The green stamp was used from about 1889, this piece is most likely circa 1903. It is in very good antique condition. Besides the typical surface scratches detected under a magnifying glass. Consistent with age and use, the only condition issue is 2 small scratches on the front(see photo) Otherwise no other chips, no cracks. Still a beautifully functional or decorative piece.
