The jar is designed to contain wine. Something that we can deduce from its capacity: one liter. It is made of silver 900, a number engraved at the base of the piece. Together with this number we can also see another hallmark, probably the silversmith’s mark, with the word Ringiliz. The design of the jar is undoubtedly modernist. Typical of the arts-and-crafts movement from the early 1900s. It is stylized and free, with wavy and asymmetrical shapes. The jar’s body is concave at the base and narrows progressively to the top mouth. This part is decorated with vertical wavy lines that provide the jar with a quite interesting feeling of movement. C&E Ltd is Cartwright& Edwards in Longton. England. The" Ltd" was added in 1926 so these platters were manufactured after that date. Dresden is the name of the pattern. These platters look like they came straight off Grandmothers Thanksgiving table. The largest one does have a crack and I would not recommend them for everyday use. They would make great decor items in a vintage kitchen or dining area. The color in the design is a teal blue green. They both have significant crazing and some discoloration as you would expect from nearly a century of use. Size: Large Platter- 16" X 13" Small Platter- 13" X 10" Stay for a while. Estate Early 20th Century Blue and White Wall Platter,Very Nice Piece.No Marking
Not your usual piece. Excellent quality and a wonderful piece of artwork on this one of a kind wall platter. Measuring 13" x 10.5" and depicting a simple theme by the artist in blues on cream. In unbelievably perfect condition. Wonderful find for the collector of all things interesting and unique. I have had several appraisers look at this piece and none could date it as they had never seen one quite like it. Although one did say that since there was no marking, it was an older piece. I do know that it was purchased over 65 years ago.

M. Furuya antique Porcelain Vanity Tray hand-painted Japan early 20th Century
The story of Masajiro Furuya around the turn of the 19th& 20th Century is impressive. Complex, and in the end tragic. Information about this pioneer in the Asian import business along the west coast of the U.S. is readily available online, and certainly a fascinating and worthy read. Up for auction here is a very fine piece of hand-painted porcelain. Manufactured in Yokohama, Japan ~ which I can only speculate was manufactured sometime between 1900 and the late-1920s, according to what cursory information I have gleaned about M. Furuya and his business empire. The subtlety of color in this piece. Transitioning between various pastels of blue& green in an atmospheric blush of rosy pink, and the delicacy, yet purposefulness, with which it was painted is sublime ~ with a gold gilt rim in very fine condition, and tiny*dots* of gold gilt ... moredefining the interior of each little flower. The tray measures approx. 11 1/4" 28.5 cm] in length x 5 3/8" 13.65 cm] at its widest point across ~ and 1 1/4" 3.2 cm] to 1 1/2" 3.8 cm] in varying height.
