This is a beautiful antique platter circa 1880 from Powell Bishop and Stonir from Henley Staffordshire England in the Oriental Ivory Hong Kong Pattern. It measures approx. 14 1/4" and has a rust border with multicolored design and overall in good condition but has one minor glaze chip along border that has some color on it to disguise it and a few spots on rust border where color is missing.also very minor. Otherwise in very good condition for it's age and perfect for either use or display.I am not sure if this is the correct term but I think somewhere I heard the term polychrome color.it has a different kind of lustre to the color and it may have that.not sure I got the term correct. 4.5" Square Dish, Scalloped Rim, Hand-Painted Flowers Powell Bishop Stonier 1880
Powell. Bishop& Stonier 4.5-inch Square Dish. Ribbed Rim, Pink& Yellow Flowers Oriental Ivory. Ca. 1880 T his listing is for a very elegant little dish or bowl that I believe is made by Powell. Bishop& Stonier(Staffordshire, England) ca. 1880. It is hand-decorated with pnk andyellow flowers on an ivory body with scalloped rim. The small piece measures 4.5 inches wide across the rim and about 7/8 inches high. The small dish is in very good condition. There are no chips. Cracks, or crazing. There are very light utensil marks or scratches on the inside bottom. This piece has a clear mark for"Oriental Ivory" see thepotteries.org website for PB&S) Along with a red hand-written mark(a/ 3699/ 7. Please note that some of the pictures were taken with flash. Others were in natural light, which is why the plate may look lighter ... moreor darker or have white spots in the photos.

POWELL BISHOP & STONIER PB&S HONFLEUR AESTHETIC MOVEMENT TRANSFERWARE PLATTER!
Produced in 1883. This PB&S smaller platter has a fabulous aesthetic movement decoration done in brown transferware on a cream background and has no damage that I can see anywhere. It has been used, so there are little scratches in the glaze as is so common with these old transferware pieces, but no damage to the transferware, no discolorations on the front and no chips or cracks. I don't even notice crazing in the glaze. The measurements are a little over 12" from end to end and 9" from top to bottom. This platter has a border of flowing flowers and urns around the rim with a center medallion of cascading bouquets from vases on a bureau of some type with a lion figurine. Marvelous piece in outstanding vintage condition. We will double box for shipment.
