Bowl measures 8 1/2 inches in diameter and 5 1/4 inches tall Handle ... moreextends out another 2 inches and is approx. 4 inches tall Marked ROYAL IRONSTONE CHINA with the stamp of the lion. Crown and unicorn, with CHARLES MEAKIN ENGLAND under it. This printed mark was used on the earliest pottery made at the Burslem Works location. From 1870 to 1882. There are a few expected minor anomalies inherent with hand-made pottery. The inside is quite clean. Close inspection reveals very minor scratches on the bottom from use over 130 years ago. The glazing on the exterior is very nice There are no chips on the top edge. As shown in the photos. There is a very small crack at the top right side of the handle that appears to have been glued, possibly prior to glazing. This is not very obvious to the eye when on display, and in my opinion it is a minor visual issue. I have tried to be as complete as possible in my description. But I'm not an antique expert and have assessed this chamber pot based on the research I have done. Please look carefully at the photos. As they are part of the description. Because of the age of this item. It will be sold AS IS and returns not accepted. so if you have any questions at all about the condition of this piece, please be sure to ask before purchasing so there are no surprises. SET of 5 - ANTIQUE JEAN POUYAT LIMOGES SERVING PLATTERS
Matching set of five(5) antique J. Pouyat Company. Limoges France serving Platters. Beautiful border pattern of a double band of pink and yellow floral swags. The platters measure 19" 16.5" 14" 12" and a 9.5" pickle tray(49. 42,36, 30, 24cm) Circa 1890. All are in excellent condition considering the age. They may have never been used. But. The 12" platter has a smooth chip on the foot(see pic) rim. In addition there is some minimal wear to the gold trim on the sides of the 12" and 16" platter. This may have been caused from standing on display. But it is unusual that the other three are perfect. The trim wear on these 2 platters is not evident on the ends, and is so slight I could not photograph it. I would prefer to sell the platters as a set. And not individually. I would hope you agree. I have for auction this evening a lovely piece of JPL aka Pouyat Limoges France porcelain. This classic dresser tray has a stunning mold shape that is both classic and elegant and speaks to the fine quality of porcelain this maker and decorator produced. The wavy scalloped edge with cut out style handles is very nicely done and the hand painted roses on garlands just make this a most desirable piece. This would look fantastic in any setting from cabinet to table to dresser top as was its originally intended home when it was first produced. This is a very fine and refined piece of porcelain by one of the greatest porcelain factories of their time and the artist was obviouly accomplished as well. Guerin Pouyat Elite LTD Bawo & Dotter dish circa 1900-1914 Limoges France roses
This is a Guerin-Pouyat-Elite LTD tray that has BAWO& Dotter of New York stamp also. Looks like the piece was made in Limoges France and sent to New York for distribution. That is only my assumption since there are two stamps that are both from Limoges and from the same time period. It has a rose pattern around the edge with another solid pattern in the center of the dish. The dish does not have any cracks. Chips, or crazing. This is in perfect condition! This BAWO& DOTTER stamp was used between 1900-1914 according to my resource book of porcelain stamps and the Guerin-Pouyat was used 1896-1900. We have an amazing find in this gourgeous antique Limoges tray or charger from the Jean Pouyat factory. It has been painted with a spectacular Lily design by William Lycett(1855- 1909) One of the most important late 19th century American china decorators, and bears the mark of his Atlanta studio(established in 1883) William Lycett was himself the son of Edward Lycett, another prominant pioneer in American china decoration. William Lycett's work is represented in many museum collections including those of The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Brooklyn Museum. Lycett limoges pieces are rarely available and this example is in very fine condition with no chips, cracks or crazing, displaying only expected wear to the gold paint around the scallped rim and some areas of discoloration that have not impacted the Lycett design. c1895 Jean Pouyat Limoges Plate SIGNED ~ Oval Platter ~ Vanity Tray ANTIQUE
Offered for you collecting enjoyment is this beautiful Oval Hand Painted Antique Limoges Tray. Made by the Jean Pouyat in Limoges France. It bears the JP over L makers mark and is dated 1895. It is hand painted with leaves. Tree branches and some type or thistle-like/floral image, with a detailed gold scroll painted on too. The outer rim of the plate is in the warm red family and in my opinion is a deep rich dark salmon color. The plate is signed by the artist SM as shown in photo. It measures about 13 ¾ inches x 10 inches and it has approx. a ¾” lip. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Negligent normal wear to ½” area just slightly on the edge, which can be seen in the pic’s and is only being mentioned for full disclosure.
