Old Antique Brown Transferware Ironstone Small Platter, T & R Boote "Lahore"
Here's an interesting very old or antique small platter we received recently with some estate items. This one is a brown transferware oval platter about 5.75 by 7 inches in dimension. This is an ironstone type piece made in England with markings"T& R Boote" as shown n the picture. Our guess is this is from somewhere in the mid to late 1800's as it has a very nice simple or somewhat primitive decorative scheme. The pattern appears to be"Lahore" The piece is nice considerate of age with some light crazing and small darkening spots at the top edge and on the underside as we show in the pictures. No chips or cracks noted. That's about it. The pictures should be helpful to those having interest. We'll start this early or antique small serving piece low so enjoy the auction. Wedgwood "Peruvian" Mulberry Ironstone Transferware Platter
This platter measures 12"x15.25" and was made by the J Wedgwood Co. It is in the pattern Peruvian and is Mulberry Ironstone transfer ware. There are two very tiny glaze flecks on this piece. one on the front and the other on the outer rim there is also some very tight crazing. There is no other damage at all! Mulberry ironstone is very hard to find and this piece is beautiful!

This auction is for a Lovely& Old Ironstone Blue Transferware Platter made by J.W. Pankhurst& Co. of Hanley. England. It is in the company's beautiful"Lucerne" Pattern. The pattern is of a mountain lake scene with castles and large manors and trees at the center and a thick Victorian Scroll and Floral border with cartouches of mansions. The platter is in very good condition. Especially for its age. There are no chips or cracks or repairs or stains. There isn't even crazing. The images are clear and vivid. Lovely 1845 G. Phillips Ironstone Transferware Platter "Corinth" Pattern England
This auction is for a Very Old and Beautifully decorated Blue Transferware Platter made by G. Phillips of Longport England in 1845 The Staffordshire platter is in the company's"Corinth" pattern. Which is of a classic coastal scene with a masted ship, trees, gardens and domed buildings. For its age. The piece is in very good condition. There are no chips or cracks or repairs. The piece does have some crazing, edge roughness, utensil marks and some staining spots as would be expected from its vintage. The backstamp has a great design of an eagle atop a banner. It reads: G. Phillips Longport Ironstone and Corinth. The registration diamond on the back of the piece indicates it dates to January 1845. The platter has eight sides. Great looking antique transferware platter measuring 14 1/4" length x 10 7/8" width. large deep blue/ white scene in the center of a 18th Century Country Women feeding the farm animals including sheep. Turkey, ducks, chicks rooster etc. The border is surrounded by small scenes of flowers and cattle. Marked on the backside~Ironstone W.Adams& Son Old English Rural Scenes England. A nice antique(circa 1870-1880s) Staffordshire Meat Platter. The platter is made of Ironstone and features a Blue Transfer design of People in a Landscape setting. The Platter is BIG at 17" x 14" It in very good overall condition with no chips. Cracks, hairlines or repairs. The only thing to note is a small dent in the clay on the front lower left which happened before it was fired in a kiln. There is very minor glaze wear on the back edges. What amazes me is the condition of this beautiful 12 1/2" X 9 1/2" octagonal ironstone platter made in England in the late 1800's. There is no evidence of crazing on the front. Only on the back. There are no chips or cracks. It is in beautiful shape for its age. I left the metal hanger on the platter. Stamp on back says T. J. J. Mayer Rhone Scenery with the lion above. Staffordshire Deep Blue Transferware Ironstone Platter - California - Wedgwood
Offered is this gorgeous. Deep Blue Transferware Platter in the California pattern. This piece is an octagon shape, has a central scene, and the outer rim is trimmed with floral and scenic reserves. It was produced by Wedgwood in Burslem, England, and registered in April of 1849. It retains his mark with the pattern name and registration diamond. This piece has a tight hairline going inward on the lower left corner(see photos) There are no chips. But some light wear and a couple of glaze pops from production. Antique T & R Boote Ironstone Platter England Transferware Stoneware Large
This is a gorgeous large antique platter. It measures 17" wide and 12" across.a fabulous large platter. The design shows butterflies flying near the sprig of wheat. It is a creamy color with brown decoration. The finish is still smooth and shiny and it is in excellent condition. The only fault that I can find with this platter is two small flea bite size chips on the one edge on the long side as shown in one picture. Plus it does have a little crazing but that is to be expected in a platter this old. It is not at all objectionable. The piece is an antique.it's not from Macy's china department. The bottom of this platter has two main markings. The one says Royal Premium Summer Time IV. The other is the T& R Boote mark. Just gorgeous antique Davenport large platter in the Cyprus pattern. The color is black or Mulberry or some perople call it flow black I think. Excellent condition. No chips or repairs that I can see. No discoloration or crazing. There is one?glaze pop which is tiny and I have photographed it(see last photo) but I am mentioning this for accuracy as it is barely noticeable. I had this platter hung on my wall and it is quite heavy. I'm offering 2 Antique Ironstone Black Mulberry Transferware platters. In the Rhone Scenery pattern, produced by Thomas, John and Joseph Mayer, c. 1843-55. Please refer to my photos as they are part of the description. The large platter is in very good condition considering it's age. It is 14" x 18" It has a few flea bites on the lower right side but no larger chips. It has a few utensil marks. One being about 1/2" and stained as shown in the 3rd picture. It also has a small area where the color is lighter-see the 4th picture. These are all slight and do not mar the overall platter. Just mentioning them to be as accurate as possible. The smaller platter is 12 1/2" x 14" See pictures 5-8. It. Too, has a few flea bites but no large chips on front or back. Antique Brown Transferware Ironstone Aesthetic Movement Platter
This is a very nice brown transferware platter. With lovely patterned rim and handles. It is marked on the underside(see photo) but I cannot find this potter's mark. What I can suggest is that because it does not have a country of origin, if this is European, it would pre-date 1891(to comply with the McKinley Tariff Act. I just do not know exactly if it is European or American. This large platter measures approximately 15 5/8" x 11 1/4" x 1 1/4" high. See photos of the nicely done rim and handles. The random transferware pattern suggests the period of the aesthetic movement. The platter has a chip along the side rim. Mostly on the underside(see photo) and a tiny chip on the underside of one of the handles, which you cannot see when platter is upright. There is a long hairline on one side, and a couple shorter ones on the other, but they are nearly undetectable from the top. There is also crazing, which has darkened mostly on the bottom. One of the biggest we've handled in many years- but no doubt English. Could not identify pattern. But appears to be a Middle Eastern or perhaps even a scene from India with the palm trees and the mosques Transfer printed full border with inset scenes in cartouches. If you look closely. You'll see that the long side medallions don't line up top and and bottom Actually measures 20-1/4" long. 15-1/2" wide. 3" border, and deep- sits at 1.5" Overall good condition. You can see the toning and the crazing in photos. Which of course ... morecan be lightened with hydrogen peroxide if you'd like. Personally, it's most likely pre-1850s, and should show some signs of age and use so we'll leave any cleaning to a new owner The best brown color: On the dark chocolate side. Gorgeous old platter for all you ironstone and transferware fans and collectors. A great addition to a collection. Or very sturdy to using daily. Fifteen inches long. And 10 inches wide, this platter is durable and practical. The rim is fluted, and the transferware pattern is called Princess. Its condition is excellent. With no chips, chunks or crazing or checking. A tiny bit of glazing is worn off to a dull finish on one edge, but I hadn't noticed it in the 30 years I've owned it until just now when I inspected it for listing. The Registration number is 94616. Established local business since 1972. DESCRIPTION: This is a beautiful ironstone huge meat serving platter in the English Scenery pattern that measures an impressive 18 1/2" long by 14 1/4" wide. This pattern depicts one of a series of"British castles and houses" It actually shows Castle Grantully. Also known as Grandtully Castle, which consists of two five-storied towers and other buildings on the River Tay in Perthshire, Scotland. It was supposed to have been built in 1560 on an ancient site. It's as if you are standing on the bank of the river with sail boats, a bridge in the middle ground and then other buildings and the castle in the distance. The brim and side that leads down to the well is covered with Minton's typical florals, botanicals and scrolls. This is a footed platter with the"tree" depressed ... morebranches that lead the juices and grease from the meat you are serving to the collecting well at one end. This way you could serve a healthier cut of meat. The ink stamp on the back reads Semi China along with the pattern name English Scenery. Why buy today's cheap knock offs when you can spend a bit more to preserve, use and pass on these antique pieces? It shows wanted age wear around the foot indicating this is an old piece of pottery. There are no cracks but there are three small flakes or ships on the bottom raised foot never seen unless it's being washed.This can be picked up at the Madison-Bouckville antique show in mid-August or the September Brimfield, MA antique show to forgo the shipping charges. Burslem, Staffordshire. This platter circa 1855. Decorated with a view of Royal Lodge. Which stood in Windsor Great Park. The reverse of the dish bears the maker's mark in underglaze blue: T. TILL& SON. Royal Cottage" in a pastoral cartouche. Also a brown"A" under laze mark near center back as well as a"14" underglaze imprint. Size: 12.75" by 15.50" Condition: antique. Used with wear. This meat platter is the hard to find type that is footed and has the juice well. The platter. With the pattern name, Floral Scenery, Is 17" wide by 13.5" wide and stands 2 3/4" tall. It stands on 3 feet and the bulbous well. The ironstone platter is green transferware. The floral scenery pattern features a building in the background with various floral designs, a fountain, and an urn. It also has a bird studying a butterfly. The platter is over 100 years old and shows evidence of its age. The platter has several areas of roughage around the rim with a few spots of discoloration o the front. There are some utensil marks but the glaze maintains its shine. The most damage is to the feet with two of the three feet having the part of the foot that sticks out being broken off. Antique Elsmore & Son Transferware Ironstone Platter Asian Aesthetic 17" England
This is a serving platter manufactured by Thomas Elsmore and Son in England. The"T Elsmore& Son" mark on the platter was used from 1872 to 1885. So this platter is from that time period. This is a transferware ironstone platter. It has a white/bisque colored background with a brown transfer design on top. The design is from the aesthetic period. And is known as Lily and Vase. The design has an Asian theme with bamboo, oriental panels, and floral accents. There is a geometric border around the rim. The mark says T ELSMORE& SON. ENGLAND. Some of the other marks are IV 14 C Ra D E. There is an impressed mark that might be a date code that says PG. The platter is about 17" by 13" It weighs about 4.5 pounds. The platter is in good condition for its age. There are some manufacturing defects including some slight bumps ... morein the glazing and some misprints of the transfer design. There is some slight wear and chipping on the bottom surface.

Antique Purple Transferware Staffordshire Ironstone Platter Singanese J Wedgwood
This auction is for a Beautiful Antique Purple Transferware Octagonal Ironstone Platter made by J. Wedgwood in the company's Sinagnese Pattern and dating to the mid 1800s. The pattern depicts a Classic Victorian Garden scene with a man with a basket and a woman sitting near a river with a wide border of Vines or Ferns and Flowers. The platter Displays Wonderfully and is in Very Good condition. Especially for its age. There are no chips or cracks. The color and the decoration is clear and bright. There is fine. Even crazing, as expected from Ironstone of this era. There is a small area of extra material on the edge(see last photo) that I believe was left over in the firing process. It is not a chip. There are a few Very Tiny Dots of missing glaze on the face that are Very Hard to even spot. The platter measures 15 5/8 inches long and 12 ... moreinches wide and is marked Singanese J. Wedgwood on the back. This is a Great Example of mid 19th Century Staffordshire pottery. Check out my! J Clementson Antique Ironstone Transferware Turkey Platter 18 X 14
This gorgeous antique 18 x 14" Platter is a beauty to behold. As you can see by the marking that is was made by J Clementson in England in the 1840's as indicated with the Phoenix stamping on the back of the plate. This platter is called"Seaweed" as you can read from the stamp picture and I have not been able to locate any other seaweed plates so think it must be hard to find. The seaweed pattern is black on white pottery and is beautiful and delicate. Amazingly. This platter that is 170 years old has no cracks and has only some minor discoloration on top. There is some slight chipping as indicated in the pictures and one sizable chip on the bottom edge that measures 1" x/2" and does not detract from the beauty of the piece. Some light edge wears on rim. Mostly on back side- not chips, just some wear from use. Front has a flea size speck on platter near center, and 1 dip? that absorbed stain around it. Antique Large Brown Floral Transferware Ironstone Platter Chintz Calico
This large-17 inches long by just under 12 inches wide-platter has a delightful brown and cream Calico coloring with aging just as we all love! Floral and fruit pattern filled with butterflies. Mums, leaves, figs-or are they pomegranates? with sunflower-like and other assorted flowers. By an unknown pottery with no makers marks, the back shows lovely crazing and mottling. Guesstimating at the age of 100+ years, this platter would be lovely on a sideboard or your main table. Please notice in photos 8& 9 regarding the wear or rubbing off of the pattern but with no chips. Yes to crazing and discoloring as shown in photos 6& 7. This is an old piece and does have the individual characteristics as such.
