Circa 1850's Opulent John Henry Belter"Henry Clay" pattern Victorian Rococo Revival Laminated Rosewood Very Fine eight piece parlor set consisting of a fine Sofa. With deep serpentine seat rail, Marvelous Arm Chair, four nicely executed Side Chairs, and a very impressive pair of opposing Meridiennes. Presented in professional restored condition this marvelous ensemble has been professionally upholstered using the buttoned& tufted fluted design in carnation pink. Our restorer uses a technique closely akin to French Polishing when refreshing the old finish. The Belter Henry Clay pattern chairs have a distinctive outline. Looking a little like a stylized cabochon. This set has two horizontal ... morearabesques found on a typical Belter Henry Clay chair, one shaped like an inverted"U" framing the top and the second shaped like a lyre framing the bottom. Here is a beautiful Antique Parlour Set of furniture for sale. Loveseat measures just under 5 foot across and 41" tall. One of the chairs has arm rests and one does not. I doubt the upholstry is original as this set is in beautiful condition. The people I am selling it for told me it came from the early 1800's. Upstate New York. Carved Parlor Set Rosewood, Marble, Vintage Victorian, Italian Made Three-Piece
Here we have an amazing vintage rosewood and marble three-piece parlor set. Without a doubt. This set is of high quality. The bases are handcarved Rosewood and a fine craftsmanship. They are very solid. The marble is Mark made in Italy, so I assume that means the entire set including the wood is made in Italy. I can't say for certain and I don't know for sure where the bases were made however you can tell they're very well-made. There's very few condition issues however there's some missing finish, more so on one of the end tables, but also a couple other locations on the other tables. It's not a lot of finish loss but it's worth mentioning. The marble loosely sits on top of the rosewood but the way he holds it perfectly and position. The marble was definitely made to fit the wooden basis. There's one small ... morechip in one of the end table tops. See photo. It appears that one of the tables has a slightly lighter color wood, but it's really not that noticeable. Someone may have added a second table, but definitely from the same manufacturer and same quality. Let me know if you like better photos or if you're interested in seeing them in person. This is a most unusual find in the antique world. It’s a beautiful three-piece rosewood country Victorian early scrolled leg parlor set. ... moreIt probably dates from the 1850s. The fabric is buttoned and tufted and probably replaced somewhere along the line in a light plum or dark pink brocade fabric overlay. It has beige gimp against the original solid rosewood carved frame. Which is quite stunning. Rosewood is notoriously brittle and fragile wood, so it is unusual to find a set in this condition that has not been broken up. You won’t see a set like this for a long, long time. This set doesn’t look like it’s been used very much. It has hand-carved crests on the chair backs and couch back, scrolled carved arms, carved cabriole legs, and carved skirts, and still retains its original brass casters. The set consists of an oversized sofa, a gentleman’s armchair, and a lady’s sitting chair. The overall sizes of the pieces, starting with the sofa, are 84 inches wide on the outside, 68 inches wide on the inside, 28 inches deep front to back, 41 inches at the highest point on the back, and 34 inches high in the center, the arm is 22 inches high, and the seat is 18 inches high. It is a set with simple lines and what I believe to be hand carvings as there are spots I cannot match up. Brass wheels. Includes a small sofa, love seat, sitting chair and arm chair. The wood is in good condition with normal 100 plus year wear, but very nice. The sitting chair needs the wiring fixed and both chairs need some stuffing. All original stuffing is there in all pieces. Pick your color and match your decor! OR a money maker for dealers! Condition is"as is" I must ask that buyer please make arrangements for pick-up or for a shipping company to pick-up. Antique 3 Piece Parlor Victorian Set. This has a sofa and 2 chairs. They have medallion back on each piece. Very well done fabric. There is slight scuffing on one chair. Some of the joints on the wood need to be re-glued. There is a red burgundy fabric. There is raised wood carvings. There are some scratches and scuffs on the wood. This was purchased from a museum over 20 years ago. The sofa is approximately 66" wide x 37 3/4" tall. The chairs each measure approximately 20" wide x 36 1/4" tall.

Up for bid is an antique parlor set. Appears to be from the Eastlake Victorian era. Set includes a sofa. Two side chairs, one captain's chair with arms, and a rocker. Captain's chair and sofa have 4 porcelain casters each and other pieces have casters only on two front legs. Unknown manufacturer or exact date. Was purchased at an estate sale and do not know any of the history for this set. A previous owner has recovered the set with a soft burgundy and gold fabric. All upholstery is well attached and clean. Entire set could use a good cleaning, especially in the carvings/grooves. There are several issues with this set, typical of normal age and use. These include(but not necessarily limited to) top piece missing from rocker, top piece has been reattached to one of the side chairs with evident nail holes and gap, scratches, gouges, ... moreetc. tried to take pictures of all of the above. 5-Piece Carved Griffin Late Victorian Parlor Set
This is a beautiful late Victorian parlor set with a Settee. Gentleman's Arm Chair, Platform Rocker and 2 side chairs. It was purchased by me over 25 years ago and has been professionally reupholstered with a high-quality era-appropriate rose floral fabric. The wood is a dark cherry/mahogany color, but I am unsure of the exact species although this era used mahogany quite a bit. Each piece has a carved back. Griffins, crowns and 5-petal flowers appear on the settee, arm chair and rocker, and a simpler 5-petal flower and crowns appear on the center top back of the two side chairs. The joints of each piece appear solid and there are no rips, tears, stains, fading, or obvious wear on any parts of the upholstery. Each piece has its original wooden wheels on the legs(see photo 9) The rocker springs appear solid and functional. There is some ... morewear and tear on the wooden parts of various pieces as noted: 1) There is a small missing piece of the curl design under the R arm of the arm chair. The rest of the chair is fine. see photo 5) 2) Some small leaves on the carved floral design are missing on the rocker and both side chairs(see photos 6, 7, 8) 3) One side chair is missing the tip of a carved"bow" at the top of the chair back(see photo) All in all this set appears in very good shape for its age and could easily be brought to perfection by qualified personnel. Aesthetic Movement 3 piece Victorian Parlor Set. Hard to Find!
American Aesthetic Movement three piece Parlor Set. Look around on Ebay at all the"attributed' to this or that maker" and their outrageous prices. This is a three piece set. Settee and two matching chairs. Its not a'high end' set but a set you would expect to find in prosperous Middle upper middle class Victorian home. Most likely it was made in either Grand Rapids or Cincinnati. Its not Herter, not Jeliff. The American Aesthetic Movement was a bridge from the more formal Empire and early Victorian furniture to Craftsman and Art Noveau. Common themes were Anglo Japanesque or in this case an Acanthus leaf design that goes up either side of the main settee and is repeated on the arm and side designs. This set has older upholstery that I estimate is maybe 6-8 yrs old. As is common with Red Upholstery(there is some sun fading ... moremostly on the settee) but it does not really take away from the overall beauty of the set. It looks like the upholsterer did good job. They did make a common, and wise, repair to the"floating back" settee design by replacing the"dowelled" connection with a lag bolt and side screws. This makes for stronger back. Some of the gimp has been recently replaced and you can tell the old from the new. Settee back is tight and the arms are good and secure. Obviously this is not something you want your kids jumping on. Its a formal parlor set. The chairs look really great and don't have a much sun fade as the settee They are good and tight. I have tried to describe these as well as I can. They are not"museum pieces" I originally planned to reupholster these in a two tone aesthetic pattern but I have carriage house full of projects and not enough time to get around to them. We are pleased to be offering today a very nice five piece Victorian parlor set. If needed. We could assist with shipping or delivery, ask about this first. 5 piece set- Antique Victorian Settee and Parlor Chairs with Carved Wood Trim. Each has the detailed wood carving of the Jenny Lind style face and head. Very interesting characteristic. Tribute after the Civil War period. Very nice parlor set with a loveseat sofa or settee. With carved wood frame and a floral upholstery. Including an arm chair, 2 Balloon Back side chairs. AND, another side parlor chair that has burl wood, and is more ornate than the others. The set has been recovered and is in pretty nice condition. All the woodwork is in overall good condition.no apparent rips or tears in upholstery. The fabric on the rear of the pieces seems in fine condition to have visible/open to ... moreview. Please note on settee and side chairs. The upholstery is not identical. They chairs were recently re-upholstered in a yellow/gold velvet, but the settee has not yet been covered. All recovered at same time by same person who invested a good bit to have the chairs reupholstered. The fabric on the settee is in fine, useable condition. Except that on the left inside arm of the settee, there is a short spot where the upholstery would need refastening to the frame. The sofa and the matching chairs are in almost perfect condition for their age. And are nice and tight for the most part. The loveseat does show a slight loosening of the joint on the upper side wood arm, near curve. Still seems well intact. The only other caveat to mention is that one of the balloon-back side chairs does have a loose joint on the upper right side. The two sections of wood have separated there. A temporary repair was made with a wood-adhesive but might need more attention before the chair is used for sitting. Wood trim does have some knicks or light scratches. Not noticeable, as you can see from the photos. They really do make a nice seating group of the Victorian era. Please note that antiques

Antique Victorian parlor set, settee, gent's chair, lady's chair, 4 side chairs
This is a 7 piece walnut Victorian parlor set consisting of a settee. Gent's chair, lady's chair, and 4 side chairs. The condition of this set is excellent. The finish is original. The fabric is impressive with only slight staining on the settee seat, and a slight spot of a stain on the back of the gent's chair, also a slight spot on the back of one side chair, and a slight spot on the seat of one side chair. These existing stains do not detract from the pieces and the eye is not immediately drawn to these slight stains. Notice the deep tufting and great shirring along the edge of all the seats- a lost art for many upholsterers. The color of the upholstery on the set is a lovely taupe/beige, which is wonderful, allowing it to work within the color schemes of most any room and also saving the buyer the added expense of reupholstering ... morein order for it to fit into your existing color scheme. The settee measures 56" wide x 42.5 tall x 21" deep. Notice the pronounced crest and all the applied and carved detailing. See how the 3 top applied small panels are outlined with ebonizing faced with burled walnut. Additional burled walnut panels are set above the settees upholstered backs and in the middle of the seat rail below. The pierced carved treatment in the center of the settee is nicely carved and well defined. The arms of the settee are rounded and curved. The legs are boldly turned. These same elements are repeated on all the chairs. The gent's chair with arms measures 46" high x 23.5" wide x 22" deep. The lady's chair measures 45.5" tall x 21" wide x 21" deep. The 4 side chairs measure 39" tall x 19" wide x19" deep. The gent's chair and the lady's chair retain all their original wooden castors. All other pieces retain original wooden castors on the front legs but the back legs have round flat metal tabs instead. These tabs do not stand out or detract from the beauty of the set. 3 Piece 18th C. Victorian Settee Set upholstered green damask carved wood settee is 36/37" high 59/60" long arm chair is 42/43" high 28"wide side chair 36" high set is in excellent condition. Small 2"mark on back of arm chair where finish is removed fabric is clean and in just about excellent condition settee and arm chair are on wheels i have just started selling on Ebay and do not have feedback we are moving and this would be an estate sale where we will be selling many things from our own estate.
