It is 82" long and ... more39" high to the center at the back. This sofa is ornate with hand crafted hard wood decor about 2" thick in dark brown color of the grape and leaf patterns. The cushion is about 4" at highest point. 58" long without arm, and 20" deep. It is an original tanned upholstery with the small mauve flower pattern. It is decorated with some fabric buttons on the cushion. The cushion is very firm. There are 3 light water stains on the cushion sitting area as shown in the pictures. There is a small worn area on the fabric of the left arm. No major damage on the cushion. The cushion is 5" high from the floor. It has the brass rivets stitched along the cushion all the way around the front. The arm is 24 1/2" high from the floor. Each arm of the sofa has embossed hand crafted grape leaf design. There is a wooden surface damage on the top right arm. The stitching at the back along the left arm has come detached about 2" The legs are very stunning with the hand carvings on wood about 2 3/4" thick. The end of the legs have brass wheels about 1" diameter. There is a tear at the back on right foot area of the upholstery about 2" but it is not noticeable. The back felt cover is purple/ blue, it is faded. There are rusty nails holding back cover, that is partially torn off. The bottom of the couch covered with the fabric, it is old, has no tears. All the tears mentioned can be fixed. All is in great shape. This piece is really classic antique look, was kept well by our grandmother circa 1800's. Sold as is. Local pick-up only. The overall size is 68 inches wide on the outside of the arms, 48 inches wide on the inside of the arms, 28 inches deep, 38 inches high to the crest, 23 inches high to the arms and 16 inches high to the seat. This fantastic sofa does have an old repair to one end which appears to be very sturdy and secure and one rosette at the left end of the sofa has some inlay loss. Thank goodness the repair is there or by today's standards it would have been in the dump and we would have lost this wonderful piece of art~just my opinion. The vintage cream colored fabric does show some ware on one corner and arm and needs a gentle cleaning. Please look closely and enlarge the pictures as all the detail cannot be shown in 12. Antique Vintage Victorian Wood Bugundy Cushion Couch Sofa Hand Crafted 1800's This is an antique fabulous Victorian sofa. It is 82" long and 39" high to the center at the back. This sofa is ornate with hand crafted hard wood decor about 2" thick in dark brown color of the grape and leaf patterns. The cushion is about 4" at highest point. 58" long without arm, and 20" deep. It is an original tanned upholstery with the small mauve flower pattern. It is decorated with some fabric buttons on the cushion. The cushion is very firm. There are 3 light water stains on the cushion sitting area as shown in the pictures. There is a small worn area on the fabric of the left arm. No major damage on the cushion. The cushion is 5" high from the floor. It has the brass rivets stitched along the cushion all the way around ... morethe front. The arm is 24 1/2" high from the floor. Each arm of the sofa has embossed hand crafted grape leaf design. There is a wooden surface damage on the top right arm. The stitching at the back along the left arm has come detached about 2" The legs are very stunning with the hand carvings on wood about 2 3/4" thick. The end of the legs have brass wheels about 1" diameter. There is a tear at the back on right foot area of the upholstery about 2" but it is not noticeable. The back felt cover is purple/ blue, it is faded. There are rusty nails holding back cover, that is partially torn off. The bottom of the couch covered with the fabric, it is old, has no tears. All the tears mentioned can be fixed. All is in great shape. This piece is really classic antique look, was kept well by our grandmother circa 1800's. Sold as is. Local pick-up only. This is a true Victorian gem! I have never seen anything like it. It is a fainting sofa/ chaise that opens and turns into a bed. The back has hinges and is meant to go down. The cushion opens up and folds out to reveal a hand made mattress, additional legs and even a hand made pillow. The mattress and pillow are made of straw and horse hair stuffing and are very heavy and amazingly in great shape. All antique experts that I have asked about this piece agree that this is extremely rare and nothing like they have seen. It has a metal plaque on the bottom with date and patent number from Boston. Antique Vintage Victorian Wood Burgundy Cushion Couch Sofa Hand Crafted 1800's This is an antique fabulous Victorian sofa. It is 82" long and 39" high to the center at the back. This sofa is ornate with hand crafted hard wood decor about 2" thick in dark brown color of the grape and leaf patterns. The cushion is about 4" at highest point. 58" long without arm, and 20" deep. It is an original tanned upholstery with the small mauve flower pattern. It is decorated with some fabric buttons on the cushion. The cushion is very firm. There are 3 light water stains on the cushion sitting area as shown in the pictures. There is a small worn area on the fabric of the left arm. No major damage on the cushion. The cushion is 5" high from the floor. It has the brass rivets stitched along the cushion all the way around ... morethe front. The arm is 24 1/2" high from the floor. Each arm of the sofa has embossed hand crafted grape leaf design. There is a wooden surface damage on the top right arm. The stitching at the back along the left arm has come detached about 2" The legs are very stunning with the hand carvings on wood about 2 3/4" thick. The end of the legs have brass wheels about 1" diameter. There is a tear at the back on right foot area of the upholstery about 2" but it is not noticeable. The back felt cover is purple/ blue, it is faded. There are rusty nails holding back cover, that is partially torn off. The bottom of the couch covered with the fabric, it is old, has no tears. All the tears mentioned can be fixed. All is in great shape. This piece is really classic antique look, was kept well by our grandmother circa 1800's. Sold as is. Local pick-up only. We are selling a Victorian Settee- I'm not sure how old it is exactly but I'd guess that it's from the mid to late 1800's. I purchased it from an antique store a few years ago and they didn't have any information about it. It's a pretty teal color- the back is the same as the front(the flash from the camera makes it look a little lighter but it's not) It is nicely carved and the upholstery is in very good condition- no stains or rips. I am not sure if the upholstery is original or not. The sofa measures approximately 64" long. 25" wide and the seat sits at 16. At that time my family was buying a home from a woman in her 90's. She told my mother that the couch was given to her at the age of 16. By her grandmother, as a wedding gift. Not even taking into consideration how many years her grandmother owned the couch prior to gifting it to the 90+ year old woman at the age of 16, the years exceed 100. Some fading and a few rips on back side of couch. Nothing major considering the age of this piece. I get many" I adore this sofa" when people come to visit. However in this house I just don't have the room for it and I really need the money at the moment. This couch is three pieces as pictured. It truely is a unique treasure. I am not expert enough to tell when this piece originated but I would guess late 1800s to early 1900s. It has been reupholstered at some point in time and is in excellent condition as the photo indicates. This is being offered on a local pick-up basis only. This Victorian Cameo Heart Back Sofa is made of black walnut. Serpentined back with clusters of grape medallions above each of three crests. Center cameo is outlined in thumb molded walnut in an inverted heart design with rounded end. Carved floral carved ends extending to floral knees and whorl feet on casters. One back caster is missing. The upholstery is gold Chinoiserie brocade. It is 62" long and Circa 1850. It came to my Mother in 1987 and prior to that her Aunt owned it in Pennsylvania. The sofa sat in the"parlor" as momma was a proper southern girl with a bit of wild streak) Note the upholstery; she chose this blue-not-quite-damask like fabric and spent a small fortune on it so it would show off the gorgeous carvings of roses and be a conversation piece. Momma liked attention. She was a very young 85-year old full of whimsy, curiosity, and a lot of sass. This sofa/ couch was made in the Civil War era. 1820-1860) It is 82" long and 39" high to the center at the back. This sofa is ornate with hand carved walnut wood about 2" thick in dark brown color of the grape and leaf patterns. The cushion is about 4" at highest point. 58" long without arm, and 20" deep. It is an original tanned upholstery with the small mauve flower pattern. It is decorated with some fabric buttons on the cushion. The cushion is very firm. There are 3 light water stains on the cushion sitting area as shown in the pictures. There is a small worn area on the fabric of the left arm. No major damage on the cushion. The cushion is 5" high from the floor. It has the brass rivets stitched along the cushion all the way around the front. The arm is 24 1/2" high from the floor. The stitching at the back along the left arm has come detached about 2" The legs are very stunning with the hand carvings on wood about 2 3/4" thick. The end of the legs have brass wheels about 1" diameter. There is a tear at the back on right foot area of the upholstery about 2" But it is not noticeable. The back felt cover is purple/ blue. It is faded. There are rusty nails holding back cover. That is partially torn off. The bottom of the couch covered with the fabric. It is old, has no tears. All the tears mentioned can be fixed.
