Antique Chaise Lounge~Fainting Sofa/ Couch~1850-1900 Civil Era
This is a civil war era couch. Both sides of couch can go down to be a fainting couch. I have never seen anther couch like it before. I don't believe it has been re-stained or refinished from my experience in looking at antiques. I paid $800.00 for it in an Antique store in Ocean Beach about 10 years ago. This piece does not go in my mid-century modern home and I need to get rid of it. This piece needs some repairs: One inch clean rip on rear lower side. See picture. The padding. Made of straw and horse hair, see pictures, needs to be patched up and reupholstered. You can see the ripped padding in one of the pictures(In the picture under the couch, you can see I placed a blanket in there to catch some of the straw from leaking.
