It is 82" long and ... more39" high to the center at the back. This sofa is ornate with hand crafted hard wood decor about 2" thick in dark brown color of the grape and leaf patterns. The cushion is about 4" at highest point. 58" long without arm, and 20" deep. It is an original tanned upholstery with the small mauve flower pattern. It is decorated with some fabric buttons on the cushion. The cushion is very firm. There are 3 light water stains on the cushion sitting area as shown in the pictures. There is a small worn area on the fabric of the left arm. No major damage on the cushion. The cushion is 5" high from the floor. It has the brass rivets stitched along the cushion all the way around the front. The arm is 24 1/2" high from the floor. Each arm of the sofa has embossed hand crafted grape leaf design. There is a wooden surface damage on the top right arm. The stitching at the back along the left arm has come detached about 2" The legs are very stunning with the hand carvings on wood about 2 3/4" thick. The end of the legs have brass wheels about 1" diameter. There is a tear at the back on right foot area of the upholstery about 2" but it is not noticeable. The back felt cover is purple/ blue, it is faded. There are rusty nails holding back cover, that is partially torn off. The bottom of the couch covered with the fabric, it is old, has no tears. All the tears mentioned can be fixed. All is in great shape. This piece is really classic antique look, was kept well by our grandmother circa 1800's. Sold as is. Local pick-up only. The fabric has been replaced along the way with an antique beige that is all buttoned and pleated. It must have been done in the last 10 years or so as it is in lovely condition. The sofa is all tight and sturdy. The overall size is 68 inches wide on the outside of the arms, 48 inches wide on the inside of the arms, 28 inches deep, 38 inches high to the crest, 23 inches high to the arms and 16 inches high to the seat. It is a great looking sofa with a great patina on the wood frame.

We bought this set of Victorian furniture( couch and slipper chair) about 15 years years ago at an antique shop and it has been in our little used parlor ever since. It is NOT a reproduction and has original upholstery. We do not see the makers marks. However, they are both well made and very sturdy. They have pearl inlays in both pieces so we know they are a set. They are both upholstered in velvet. The sofa shows a little age on the arms in that regard. However the chair is all but perfect. The base is constructed of half round and cove pattern all the way around front and sides. Very well formed and veneered. The double cyma-curved crestrail is classic American Empire. Significant positives about this piec e from the perspec tive of an antique f urniture restorer with over 30 years experience show that this piece stands out in at least 3 ways. The original veneering shows no sign of glue failure at all. It is amazin gly intact with very little damage. The finish appears to be original. In excellent condition, and finally, it appears ... moreto have been upholstered only twice- the second time ti me with s taples. Usually on a piece like this. The wood is literally riddled by several reupholsterings with tacks and nails and often requires serious repairs to the wood before it can be upholstered again. It was entirely hand made with the highest levels of craf tsmanship- no cut corners. Hand sawn. Hand planed. In other words, pieces like this are usually worn out and are done over so many times that they're no longer usable. Not this piece. It's one of the best p reser ved p ieces I've ever had in my shop- Golden Eagle Cabinet Shop. Negatives- at 170 years of age. One will want to av oid hard use. The re upholstery could use an application of gimp along the crest rail borders- a normal finishing touch not done yet. The original coil springs have diff erent spring so unds for di fferent places one might sit. And as befit s a dowager of mature age. There is a bit of lumpiness. Antique Vintage Victorian Wood Bugundy Cushion Couch Sofa Hand Crafted 1800's This is an antique fabulous Victorian sofa. It is 82" long and 39" high to the center at the back. This sofa is ornate with hand crafted hard wood decor about 2" thick in dark brown color of the grape and leaf patterns. The cushion is about 4" at highest point. 58" long without arm, and 20" deep. It is an original tanned upholstery with the small mauve flower pattern. It is decorated with some fabric buttons on the cushion. The cushion is very firm. There are 3 light water stains on the cushion sitting area as shown in the pictures. There is a small worn area on the fabric of the left arm. No major damage on the cushion. The cushion is 5" high from the floor. It has the brass rivets stitched along the cushion all the way around ... morethe front. The arm is 24 1/2" high from the floor. Each arm of the sofa has embossed hand crafted grape leaf design. There is a wooden surface damage on the top right arm. The stitching at the back along the left arm has come detached about 2" The legs are very stunning with the hand carvings on wood about 2 3/4" thick. The end of the legs have brass wheels about 1" diameter. There is a tear at the back on right foot area of the upholstery about 2" but it is not noticeable. The back felt cover is purple/ blue, it is faded. There are rusty nails holding back cover, that is partially torn off. The bottom of the couch covered with the fabric, it is old, has no tears. All the tears mentioned can be fixed. All is in great shape. This piece is really classic antique look, was kept well by our grandmother circa 1800's. Sold as is. Local pick-up only. Up for auction is this beautiful Victorian Rococo loveseat with a magnificent. Highly carved walnut frame. It measures approximately 40 inches high and 66 inches at its longest point. The seat height is 16 inches. The seat measures 21 inches deep. If you measure from where the back of the frame where it touches the wall, to the front of the seat, it measures approximately 30.5 inches deep. It has its original 4 casters. The springs are in good condition. And there are no tears in the fabric. It does have a spot with some light staining, which we never noticed until we were checking it closely for the description. This is a nice Rococo Sattee. This sofa has a very solid Walnut frame with beautiful carvings which perfectly represent the Rococo era. As you can see from the photos the straps which hold the springs up have come loose. The upolstery is a gold velvet pattern and does have a small hole about the size of a quarter. This is an exceptional antique Biedermeier sofa in solid(not veneer) elm wood with ebonized accents and a green silk patterned fabric seat and back. Perhaps c. 1840 European. for auction is a very high quality pierced carved walnut sofa. it is a large one being 73 inches wide at the widest point. 43 inches tall, 16 inches to the top of the sitting surface, with a sitting surface 22 inches deep. again a very high quality, very well carved piece. the roses are wonderful as well as the grapes and other carved details. my pictures as usual are very poor quality and do not show the detail of the carvings, but they are quite well done. i am not sure of the maker, possibly belter, but there were many great cabinet makers in the 1850's to 1880's. the sofa is museum quality, near mint condition. no damages i can see or find, very solid and sturdy. it belonged to an elderly lady who was moving in with her daughter. i bought it nearly 15 years ago. she said the sofa had always been in their family, stating that it ... morebelonged to her grandparents and that it was old when she was a child. i expect it was made circa 1860 or 70. it has the original brass casters and rolls like a wagon. the elderly woman had it recovered about 5 years before i bought it, so the fabric is about 20 years old but is actually new. the fabric is perfect as far as i can tell. also, this sofa is the most comfortable antique sofa i have ever sat upon. i have never been fond of the fabric and have thought of having it recovered, but since i have 15 or 20 sofas, i really did not find it necessary to do that and i have just lived with the fabric that is on it. i hope someone sees it that likes this fabric. the wood work need cleaned and polished as i have done nothing with it since i bought it and i will be glad to do that for the new owner if they would like for me to do so. i stuck it in front of the fireplace to take pictures, but will have to move it back into a room that is just stuffed full of things anyway, a beautiful piece, but i don't need it. i paid 2500 for it when i bought it, but i am starting it at 2000. it may be picked up at my home or shpped at the buyer's expense. i expect shipping anywhere is th

The glossy finish is in very fine condition with warm patina. There is some crazing and irregularities in the book matched figured grain. As is typical for antique"character" as shown. Strong and tight. The frame is gracefully curved. Recent upholstery is a European design of the period, including bolsters. This furniture has a soft and comfortable seat, traditional in grand foyers, as the back was never finished. Height includes original brass wheels that could be removed if desired. Victorian Fainting Sofa Chaise Couch Opens Into A Bed 1800's Patent Antique
This is a true Victorian gem! I have never seen anything like it. It is a fainting sofa/ chaise that opens and turns into a bed. The back has hinges and is meant to go down. The cushion opens up and folds out to reveal a hand made mattress, additional legs and even a hand made pillow. The mattress and pillow are made of straw and horse hair stuffing and are very heavy and amazingly in great shape. All antique experts that I have asked about this piece agree that this is extremely rare and nothing like they have seen. It has a metal plaque on the bottom with date and patent number from Boston. I have been told that this is a museum quality piece and is worth several thousands. The upholstery is original navy velvet. The fabric is in good condition with no tears only some sun damage. Antique Childs Fancy Victorian Style Settee Sm Sofa Bench Upholstered Miniature
This sweet antique settee was recently brought in to my shop in Pennsylvania. It is an eye popping double take kind of vintage furniture. Miniature settee measures only approx 27" tall and 30" long and was intended for a small child(too large for dolls I think) The wood is a chippy shelac of some sort of light wood. Obviously vintage however I don't know how old it is exactly. Upholstered in a lace trimmed light pink stripe which is quite dirty. The store said the man who consigned it told them it was passed down in his family and was made in Vienna, Austria and dated back to 1860. He claimed his wife never liked it and because of this it was stored in an unused bedroom. After pressure from his wife he decided to sell it in hopes that someone would buy it who would appreciate it. It has been lovingly taken care of by me since 1986 and I hate to sell it, but we just don't have the room for it anymore. This sofa is in one of the nicest conditions I’ve ever seen for a piece of this age. It is Victorian. Of solid hand-cut black walnut, and ... moredates from the Civil War era of the 1860s or‘70s. I’m sure it’s been re-lacquered or re-varnished, and the upholstery is definitely not original. The fabric is crushed velour of antique red against the gorgeous solid black walnut that has carving all over the entire frame. There is a crack on both of the top outside edges that we can most likely detail out so they’re not so noticeable, and we can do that if the buyer asks, at no additional cost. Other than that, this is in mind-boggling condition. It has carved knuckles, flowers, carvings on the feet, original brass casters with a square cap, and the front skirt has really heavily pronounced carvings of leaves and a clamshell. The overall size, at the widest point, is 85 inches wide, and inside the arms is 65 inches wide. It is 25 inches deep from front to back, and 42.5 inches high to the center carved shield on the top. The arm is 24 inches high, and the seat is 18 inches high. It’s stunning and breathtaking, and will leave your friends speechless when they walk into a room and see it.
