It is in good condition, with no holes or tears, but the knap of the velvet is worn almost ... moreoff in some areas. I am unsure of the exact age or origins of the sofa, but I do know that it dates to the late 1960s. It is finished in a pale golden yellow velvet that is almost a shimmery beige and has a classic tufted design that is coming back into style. The sofa does have a few small stains on it, as well as some staining from general use over the years. It has obviously been very well cared for. It does not include the throw pillows shown in the photo. It is an extra-long sofa, and measures 26” tall at the armrest, 32” tall, 22” deep at the seat, 14” high at the seat, 35” deep total, and is 116” long.

It is a unique, beautiful antique fainting couch, and comes with a total of three matching decorative pillows. The couch is upholstered in a velvet material and features extra-long fringe around the bottom perimeter that gives it such unique appeal. The fringe is still firmly attached to the sofa. It has a solid seat surface with a tufted back and side. I believe that the velvet was once a rich green color, but it is now very faded to a sort of yellow. The sofa is 31” tall at the back, 19” tall at the seat, 52” long at the seat, 20” deep at the seat, 22” deep total, and 65” long total.

My mother gave me these beautiful Victorian Eastlake pieces years ago and I always planned to recover and refinish. All pieces have the original green velvet. I did pull the braided trim from four of the pieces and stapled a leopard print fabric on top. It can be pulled off and the original green velvet would be exposed. I don't know where the green braid is. However. I believe all the pieces should be re-upholstered anyway. Three pieces are part of a complete set and have matching trim. All pieces have original casters and need serious cleaning or reupholstery. Major Defects are noted here: Settee has stained velvet. 5-Piece Carved Griffin Late Victorian Parlor Set
This is a beautiful late Victorian parlor set with a Settee. Gentleman's Arm Chair, Platform Rocker and 2 side chairs. It was purchased by me over 25 years ago and has been professionally reupholstered with a high-quality era-appropriate rose floral fabric. The wood is a dark cherry/mahogany color, but I am unsure of the exact species although this era used mahogany quite a bit. Each piece has a carved back. Griffins, crowns and 5-petal flowers appear on the settee, arm chair and rocker, and a simpler 5-petal flower and crowns appear on the center top back of the two side chairs. The joints of each piece appear solid and there are no rips, tears, stains, fading, or obvious wear on any parts of the upholstery. Each piece has its original wooden wheels on the legs(see photo 9) The rocker springs appear solid and functional. There is some ... morewear and tear on the wooden parts of various pieces as noted: 1) There is a small missing piece of the curl design under the R arm of the arm chair. The rest of the chair is fine. see photo 5) 2) Some small leaves on the carved floral design are missing on the rocker and both side chairs(see photos 6, 7, 8) 3) One side chair is missing the tip of a carved"bow" at the top of the chair back(see photo) All in all this set appears in very good shape for its age and could easily be brought to perfection by qualified personnel. Hard to tell due to the color of the stain. Believed to be from the late 1800s. These are a little rough and need some work. Who said hard work doesn't pay off? The loveseat has fraying. As seen in the picture. Rocker/Glider has some sun fading in the velvet and needs repair on the bottom. A few of the pieces have some wear in the velvet.
