Antique Victorian Eastlake Rocker Loveseat Settee Great Wood Carvings Upholstery Need a couple of nice Victorian pieces for those finishing touches in a room. Do not miss these pieces. Recently picked them up at an auction. The wood on these pieces is just beautiful. Probably made in the 1880s to 1890s. I think the wood type is mahogany. But may be walnut, you be the judge. The carvings and scrollings are all still intact and were nicely done. The rocker was certainly used more than the settee and shows wear on the arms to the finish. On the left side of the settee the frame has a split in it that was corrected sometime quite a while ago. There is a bolt thru the repair that was not a part of the original piece. See the pic. I picked this piece up in the condition it is in, so cannot speak to when it was reupholstered, but it was done well ... moreand with a material that is very attractive and heavy, no flimsy stuff here. The pieces are all still tightly together at the joints. The rocker still has both its' springs. The roller wheels are both on the settee's front legs. The rocker is 39.25" tall. After retiring to Florida, we looked to replace some items. We found this love seat and a chair which we are also listing stored in a barn and loved the lines. We then located a retired gentleman who had many years experience in restoring antique furniture. He spent a couple of months totally restoring the wood. Then he referred us to a local upholstering company who rebuilt the seat and back and covered it with this beige velvet. Everything under the velvet is totally new as only the frame existed originally. We chose beige as the other furniture in our living room had bright colors and designs. We dressed this loveseat up with fancy pillows to match or coordinate ... morewith the other bright colors in the room. DESCRIPTION: The gentleman who restored this loveseat said that it was from the 1880s and named EASTLAKE. We went online and looked at Eastlake furniture from the 1880s and found pieces very similar to this. MEASUREMENTS ARE: Floor to highest point in middle of back 34 1/2 inches; Widest part from outside arm ends 36 inches; Arm length 21 1/2 inches from back frame to end; and seat is 21 x 33 1/2. Floor to top of padded seat is approximately 14 1/2 inches. This is very low; however. This can easily be made higher with casters. VALUATION: We research similar items for sale and try to price anything we list competitively and usually below lowest comparable. I lean toward Sheraton because the style matches that most closely, and the wood does not look like Mahogany and Sheraton furniture was frequently done in Satinwood. We are selling a Victorian Settee- I'm not sure how old it is exactly but I'd guess that it's from the mid to late 1800's. I purchased it from an antique store a few years ago and they didn't have any information about it. It's a pretty teal color- the back is the same as the front(the flash from the camera makes it look a little lighter but it's not) It is nicely carved and the upholstery is in very good condition- no stains or rips. I am not sure if the upholstery is original or not. The sofa measures approximately 64" long. 25" wide and the seat sits at 16. Antique Walnut Victorian Loveseat Settee With Nuts Fruit Flowers /
This auction is for a really pretty antique victorian love seat/settee. I think the wood is walnut. The decoration across the top wood looks like nuts or fruit and flowers of some kind that is carved. The velvet material is a very pale reddish cranberry. The pictures are very true to the color. The back is tufted. The wood frame is pretty sturdy. It measures about 59 inches long from the widest part of the wood frame on top. It stands about 34 inches tall to the top of the fruit. Antique 1890's Cherry Wood Loveseat or Settee CLEAN
Here is a very pretty antique Loveseat for sale. This is a perfect entryway piece at 36" tall to top of back. 19" tall to top of seat, 38" wide, and 24" deep. Lovely condition with one minor crack on top left as pictured, well below average surface wear, and material is excellent. I can not say if this is the original upholstery, but its mint condition and if it has been redone it was professionally done. I believe it is cherry wood as it has a red tint, or its a cherry wood finish, just lovely. Still has the original casters on the legs as well, lovely antique piece of furniture. I got it at an Estate sale and the lady told me it has been in her family for 125 years, so its at least that old! Save the shipping cost if you can pick this item up. RARE AND LOVELY HAND CARVED VICTORIAN PARLOR SETEE/LOVESEAT! This quaint little piece was in the foyer of my great grandmothers house for over 70 years. It was brought to Denver from Ashland. Nebraska(small prairie town) where it was purchased in the late 1800's by her father who owned the Lyman Brush Drug Store. There was a fire in the Denver home back in the 1940's and the piece had some restoration then. During the early 80's the piece was cleaned up and perhaps made stronger and readied for upholstery. It has been in storage since. The original stuffing I remember had springs and matted horsehair. Additionally, here's what I can offer to the best of my knowledge: It appears to be Oak or Maple. Up for sale is a Beautiful Antique Parlor Settee. I was told it was from the 1800's but I'm not sure. Could be from early 1900's. Looks like it is made of cherry wood with two claw feet. Upholstery is in great condition, although you can change it. If you look at the top of the loveseat, you will see it needs to be restored. Victorian Loveseat Settee Late 19th c. Carved walnut
Up for sale is a late 19th century Victorian Loveseat Settee that belonged to my wife's great-grandmother. She inherited it back in the 1980's and it proved to be impractical around our young. Energetic sons. It was put into storage and now needs to find a new home with someone who can restore her fabric and bring her back to its original condition. The carved walnut frame is in excellent shape, with casters on the feet. The fabric, alas, is faded with a split in the center of the main cushion along with some deterioration of the weave, so it will need to be reupholstered. The settee measures 68" long, 41" tall and 30" deep. There is no visible maker's mark or plate externally. Might be one inside under the cushions and upholstery but not sure. Lovely piece from an estate of an 85-year old woman(a friend of mine's Mom) who is now residing in a nursing home and emptying the home of timely treasures. I believe it is all original. With casters. Velvet-like fabric has some minor spotting that looks to be from the ageing perhaps of some of the color dyes in the material itself. There are no food or drink or other stains or spills whatsoever. The wood overall is in excellent condition as this piece was meticulously cared for in a clean, pet-free, smoke-free home.
