One gorgeous antique eastlake settee. I believe the wood to be cherry. The settee has been professionally reupholstered with durable green material and trimmed with a gold tone lace. The wood has been refinished years ago and holds a clean aged look. The settee is sturdy and fully functional all the joints are sound. This wonderful piece is clean. Crisp, and odor free. Antique Classic Empire couch(sofa. Love seat, settee) in flaming mahogany with beautiful carved details on feet and top piece. Mahogany veneering has been expertly restored in a few places, like the top rail. Zoom in on photos to see restoration. Only a few small bits and pieces needed to be added to bring this piece up to nice condition. New upholstery with matching roll cushions. Antique Pink Victorian Couch Sofa Love Seat Shabby Chic SEE PICS 1800's Chair
You are looking at a Victorian style love seat/sofa. The wood is still in great condition with no visible wear. The couch is sill firm and sturdy and can be used for everyday living or just an ornamental conversation piece. The upholstery at the seat area has had maybe a coffee or tea spill. The fabric appears to be of satin. You can't tell the couch has spill stains on it from halfway across the room. The marks are subtle. The size is 58' across and 37 1/2 inches tall. It's just the perfect size where it won't take up too much space. The Clayton family brought this piece from their collection with them and had it moved in when they first had a summer house built in 1923 in what is now historic Avondale. The beautiful Tudor home that is built like a fortress is located at 1260 South Edgewood Avenue. I have a pic posted of ... morethe house. If your ever in that area.
