It is 82" long and ... more39" high to the center at the back. This sofa is ornate with hand crafted hard wood decor about 2" thick in dark brown color of the grape and leaf patterns. The cushion is about 4" at highest point. 58" long without arm, and 20" deep. It is an original tanned upholstery with the small mauve flower pattern. It is decorated with some fabric buttons on the cushion. The cushion is very firm. There are 3 light water stains on the cushion sitting area as shown in the pictures. There is a small worn area on the fabric of the left arm. No major damage on the cushion. The cushion is 5" high from the floor. It has the brass rivets stitched along the cushion all the way around the front. The arm is 24 1/2" high from the floor. Each arm of the sofa has embossed hand crafted grape leaf design. There is a wooden surface damage on the top right arm. The stitching at the back along the left arm has come detached about 2" The legs are very stunning with the hand carvings on wood about 2 3/4" thick. The end of the legs have brass wheels about 1" diameter. There is a tear at the back on right foot area of the upholstery about 2" but it is not noticeable. The back felt cover is purple/ blue, it is faded. There are rusty nails holding back cover, that is partially torn off. The bottom of the couch covered with the fabric, it is old, has no tears. All the tears mentioned can be fixed. All is in great shape. This piece is really classic antique look, was kept well by our grandmother circa 1800's. Sold as is. Local pick-up only. The fabric has been replaced along the way with an antique beige that is all buttoned and pleated. It must have been done in the last 10 years or so as it is in lovely condition. The sofa is all tight and sturdy. The overall size is 68 inches wide on the outside of the arms, 48 inches wide on the inside of the arms, 28 inches deep, 38 inches high to the crest, 23 inches high to the arms and 16 inches high to the seat. It is a great looking sofa with a great patina on the wood frame.

The library and its furnishings were built and created in 1959-1960. The interior also featured Florence Knoll chairs and tables. This Mid Century. Architecturally inspired sofa is extremely unusual in that it has a"pull-out" feature that creates a deeper seating area or daybed for one. Seldom seen. We spoke with the librarian at the location, who had been there for 30+ years, and were told that the chairs and sofa had been recovered in the late 1970's. It measures 76" long, 28" high, seat is 30" deep and 36" when extended. The pull out feature works smoothly. The seat cushion is not attached. It has a square tubular brushed chrome and steel frame and legs and light blue tweed fabric. There is a frayed area on the front bottom right corner of the bottom platform and there is some minor discoloration but it has not been steamed cleaned. There is one button missing on the front of the seat. It needs to be re-set back down. Along with one other button cover missing from the armrest. See pictures. There are a few wear spots around the sofa. Mostly on the seat cushion. See pictures. There is a light mark on the bottom part of the back of the sofa. See picture. A fabulous example of early Victorian furniture showing classic period detail. The mahogany frame crafted into the sinuous rail of the button back rear seat pad along with the carved scroll detail are a real delight. Robust triple turned legs ride upon the original brass cap. White china casters and support the moulded frame that hosts the traditionally stuffed and well sprung seat pad. We have left the upholstery'as found' and would describe the condition as fair.
