Antique Vintage Victorian Wood Bugundy Cushion Couch Sofa Hand Crafted 1800's This is an antique fabulous Victorian sofa. It is 82" long and 39" high to the center at the back. This sofa is ornate with hand crafted hard wood decor about 2" thick in dark brown color of the grape and leaf patterns. The cushion is about 4" at highest point. 58" long without arm, and 20" deep. It is an original tanned upholstery with the small mauve flower pattern. It is decorated with some fabric buttons on the cushion. The cushion is very firm. There are 3 light water stains on the cushion sitting area as shown in the pictures. There is a small worn area on the fabric of the left arm. No major damage on the cushion. The cushion is 5" high from the floor. It has the brass rivets stitched along the cushion all the way around ... morethe front. The arm is 24 1/2" high from the floor. Each arm of the sofa has embossed hand crafted grape leaf design. There is a wooden surface damage on the top right arm. The stitching at the back along the left arm has come detached about 2" The legs are very stunning with the hand carvings on wood about 2 3/4" thick. The end of the legs have brass wheels about 1" diameter. There is a tear at the back on right foot area of the upholstery about 2" but it is not noticeable. The back felt cover is purple/ blue, it is faded. There are rusty nails holding back cover, that is partially torn off. The bottom of the couch covered with the fabric, it is old, has no tears. All the tears mentioned can be fixed. All is in great shape. This piece is really classic antique look, was kept well by our grandmother circa 1800's. Sold as is. Local pick-up only. Hand inlay with many different woods and with mother of pearl! They have hand carved ball and claw feet and very unique shapes. That more then makes up for ugly fabric. Antique Vintage Victorian Wood Burgundy Cushion Couch Sofa Hand Crafted 1800's This is an antique fabulous Victorian sofa. It is 82" long and 39" high to the center at the back. This sofa is ornate with hand crafted hard wood decor about 2" thick in dark brown color of the grape and leaf patterns. The cushion is about 4" at highest point. 58" long without arm, and 20" deep. It is an original tanned upholstery with the small mauve flower pattern. It is decorated with some fabric buttons on the cushion. The cushion is very firm. There are 3 light water stains on the cushion sitting area as shown in the pictures. There is a small worn area on the fabric of the left arm. No major damage on the cushion. The cushion is 5" high from the floor. It has the brass rivets stitched along the cushion all the way around ... morethe front. The arm is 24 1/2" high from the floor. Each arm of the sofa has embossed hand crafted grape leaf design. There is a wooden surface damage on the top right arm. The stitching at the back along the left arm has come detached about 2" The legs are very stunning with the hand carvings on wood about 2 3/4" thick. The end of the legs have brass wheels about 1" diameter. There is a tear at the back on right foot area of the upholstery about 2" but it is not noticeable. The back felt cover is purple/ blue, it is faded. There are rusty nails holding back cover, that is partially torn off. The bottom of the couch covered with the fabric, it is old, has no tears. All the tears mentioned can be fixed. All is in great shape. This piece is really classic antique look, was kept well by our grandmother circa 1800's. Sold as is. Local pick-up only. Solid walnut frame, front cabriole legs on original wood wheels that are very functional and in excellent condition. Upholstery is fresh and complements the fine shape and is very comfortable. Measures 72" W x 29" D x 41" H to back x 18" H to center of seat cushion. The form of this sofa is excellent with the function being surprisingly comfortable. The upholsterer knew what he was doing! The top of the center crest appears like it has the numeral 1 carved out of the solid round ball and I have no clue what that represents. It could be the first sofa they ever made of this style or something else of significance. This sofa has been reupholstered quite a while back and you can see where there is a worn spot in the center of the seat. Someone wrote on the back in faint letters. So that in case someone stole it out their house there was an id on the sofa, that I am not sure if it will wear out or wash off. The way the busy pattern of fabric is, it blends in and is hard to see. If you can’t see it in the pictures please let us know and we will send you another picture to show you. The frame is tight and sturdy. It is all good and usable with no rips or tears in the upholstery. The overall size is 59 inches across the widest point, 39 inches high to the top of the crest and 16 inches high to the seat. A very beautiful scalloped back 1860's Victorian sofa! The hand carved apron really sets this sofa off with pretty scrolls. Shells and feathers detailing. What an eye-catching design! There is a small piece of the wood missing from the apron and you can see this best in the fourth photo. The piece was reupholstered at some point in time with a cheery floral pattern. Antique Hand Painted Chaise Lounge or Love Seat With Fabric
This is a very nice hand painted Chaise circa 1890. Not really sure were it was made maybe the far east. Could even be Anglo Indian lts in very good condition, and looks like it has recently been recovered. The back is finished so it could go in the center of a room. Its very solid and really a good buy for an antique one. Underneath the paintwork l would say its mahogany. As you will see from underneath its all original. RARE Antique Empire Sofa Dating back to 1800's! Intriquette hand carved design!
I have an antique empire sofa. Have a lot more detail photos that I can't upload so message me if you are sincerely interested. And I will message all of them to you. I'm not an expert on antique furniture, but here is what I have found based on research and my careful observations. Be sure to study pictures closely. It is a rare sofa. dating back to the 1800's. There is no date on sofa. This was from my searches. I found one other sofa that looks almost identical, and I will link to that site and you can read their description as well. I had the link here. Look at the pictures of the bottom. Sturdy boards in good shape. ... moreThe springs in the seat are tight. To my knowledge. Everything looks original. but I cannot guarantee that) Square nails in the bottom boards, old tacks holding the backing in place. The backing has medium size tear in it, and a few small ones, but not bad over all. I do not know if the upholstry is original. It is in good shape. In the one corner. It is worn through(see picture) but it's a very small patch. That is the only worn out patch I found. There are a few scuff marks as you can see on the picture, but in my opinion, it's in beautiful condition. I love when things not only are old, but'look old' It's solid wood with a veneer. Why they did this. I do not know. Cover wood with another wood veneer, but so it is. I checked out the pictures in the link I shared, and their wood looks identical to this, so I think it's safe to say their description would be accurate of this one as well. There are a few flicks out of the veneer. A little at the end of both arm rests. Also, included a picture of the one corner of the back. seems some of the wood came loose and was glued back in. Antique Sofa with Hand Carved Accents
This sofa is believed to be Austrian from the 1870's. And has been in the family for over 30 years. It has carved lion arm rests and a beautiful finish on the sides(not shown) looking like fountain or firework shower. This finish continues to the sofa backing, partly obscured by the cushion insert. The insert is customer made, and does need re-upholstery. Or it can be removed and a different insert put in it's place.
