Delightful nesting wooden tables hand carved flowers antique vintage
Nesting wooden tables with hand-carved design Don't miss out on this. I've seen that many people have been keeping a'watch' on this item and I've now lowered the price ready for it to be snapped up by some lucky person. Or feel free to put in an offer- don't be afraid to make contact. Examine the pictures to see the exquisite hand-carved detail on the these nesting tables. With delicate leaves and flowers. Each of these four tables has its own decorative carved design on their top surfaces and on the drawer of the smallest table. You'll see that a great deal of work has gone into these and they are are certainly not a mass-produced item. I haven't found anything like them on eBay or vintage/antique/funiture auction sites. The background story of these is mostly unavailable. Except that they were acquired from ... morethe deceased estate of a European lady. Since the decorations appear to include non-Australian flora, this concurs with an expectation that they may have arrived in Australia with her mid or late last century, however the specific origin is unknown. I would be only too pleased to know if someone reading this recognises any familiar aspects that give them a more detailed place in history. Since the joints are done with fine nails. Rather than dovetail joints, and the legs/base have a metal screw fixing to the table top- these give an indication that they could be categorised as' vintage' rather than as'antique' nonetheless they are definitely delightful. The drawer is fully usable. Its base intact, clean, and smooth sliding. They have aged with much-less-than-commensurate wear, perhaps the shadow of a ring left by a cup or two on the top surface of three of the four tables- see the detail in the pictures- but, amazingly, they have survived with no damage. Scratches, or dents into the wood. Regrettably. The lighting in the photos doesn't really do them justice- the softness of their colour and even tones of the wood seems to be corrupted by lighting and shado

There is a flip-out pin cushion, and the interior of the box has its original deep plush rouge fabric. There is a single drawer beneath the lift-top compartment. One spindle has had the tip broken off, so doesn't slide into the slot, and the hinges have been changed at some stage in the sewing cabinet's long life.
