I had the original silk upholstery recovered in Dallas at the Merchandise Mart. And they indicated that it was Italian. I don’t see any maker marks. So I can’t say for sure if it was made in Italy. If you know. Please let me know. I’ve had this for at least 15 years and I’m moving to a house that has half the space. This 19th century piece is elegant and features beautiful carved details and burgundy velvet fabric with the original wooden casters intact on all four feet. This fainting sofa is very well made. Victorian Mahogany Settee Circa 1800's Museum Quality
This gorgeous MUSEUM QUALITY Victorian Settee is made of solid mahogany. This Bench is in good original condition. And the frame has a medium/dark finish. This settee has an elegant carved frame, see pictures. The legs are Claw and ball. The overall condition of this Settee is secure however because of it's 200 year old age the fact that it was handmade with dowel construction, it needs minor regluing in a few areas otherwise, it is ready for daily use. There are some minor touch-ups on the finish, and there are some natural aging imperfections on the solid wood frame, see pictures. This Bench would look great as an addition to the decor of your living room, bedroom, or hallway. The measurements are: height =39" width=46" depth=21" from the floor to the top of the seat= 19" approx.
