The settee is ebonized and parcel gilt with additional brass fittings. The upholstery is a silky type polyester as far as I can tell. It has been newly upholstered and it is in excellent condition. The frame is solid and sturdy. The paint is in very good condition, there is some minor flaking of some of the gilt, see photo close-ups. It measures 62 1/2" wide by 26" deep by 28" high at the back. Continental Empire Style Fruitwood Daybed Probably Late 19th Century Item# 130006KIA13 For any decorator. Interior designer or anyone looking for an airy and classical form for their formal living room, this is a simply outstanding find. With quite fine form, the daybed lacks the bulky and overbearing appeal that too often is associated with works of the Late Classical and Empire periods. The thin scrolling profile is distinctly Neo-Grec in form, the arms in opposing S-scrolls flanking a large scrolling back rail. The loose upholstered cushion remains in good condition with just light staining and snags, as such giving it a certain vintage appeal that is attractive to some and unacceptable to others. It is deep and comfortably stuffed with down, giving it a lasting fullness throughout. The sofa rests over sabre legs over small ball feet. ... moreProbably crafted during the late 19th Century. The piece remains in excellent condition- notwithstanding the bit of looseness in the arms(and accompanying"crookedness" visible only from the side) this is an exceptional piece for anyone seeking a formal and classical solution to a living room or sunroom. Measurements: 79" long x 20 7/8" wide x 32 1/8" high to taller side; 21" high to top of the cushion Condition Report: Small stains and snags to upholstery. Oxidized scratches to the frame. As well as other scattered abrasions and dings throughout as expected with any antique. Light chipping to right leg; rear back leg has half of the ball foot chipped off. Old crack in back leg. The arms are a bit loose when lifted upward- they are very sturdy and strong and do not require restoration when it isn't being moved, but to lift upward from either side shows wiggle. We would recommend quickly re-gluing the joints eventually, but not worrisome as is; viewed from the side, you can see a slight crookedness to the arms, but this is not noticeable when looking at the sofa more generally. Small repair in the wood on left side under the cushion. Please review

Stepping out the frame profile significantly over a pair of foremost legs. An unusual treatment, it is a most effective contrast against the inverted corners of the crest rail, these terminating in raised pyramidical acanthus finials. The frame is delightfully carved with twisted rope of a somewhat unusual design raised of the solid in the hollow of the molded frame. The armrests curve in keeping with the profile of the frame, the lower support of the arm rest a vivid display of gilded acanthus carvings, each leaf deeply and perfectly formed. The apron is embellished with a series of arched channels between the robust display of floral ... morecarvings set above each leg, these expertly turned and tapered with gilded stop-fluting over mostly original castors. The rear legs are sharply canted, an effort that relaxes the profile of the settee and is accentuated by the lack of castors on the back legs- these were either lost at some point or purposefully removed to improve the profile of the sofa to the owner's preference. The result is quite attractive, though this could easily be restored back to it's original profile by adding castors. The construction is impeccable, each juncture joined with tenon-mortise joints, most of these with tiny wooden pins securing the joint permanently. The surface is warm and deeply attractive with it's grime and wear, this set against a stark white upholstery in overall excellent condition with only minor blemishes and discolorations. This is an amazing beautiful antique vintage salesman sample or child's chase lounge or settee couch in red. This is all solid carved wood. This is not reproduction. It is in excellent shape. And was thought to be made for the children of the wealthy Victorian high class when purchasing similar furniture for their home or used as salesman samples. Most likely it was a salesman sample as the legs are slightly different on each side, possibly showing options for footing size. This child size couch is 19 inches tall, approximately 34 inches long about 28 inches across on the armrests, and 16 approx. inches deep. Vintage Antique Victorian Childs Doll Salesman Sample Chaise Couch Settee chair
For auction I have a really beautiful doll size antique Victorian chair and love seat. I purchased these at an estate sale. I'm not sure if there meant to be for dolls or if it was a salesman sample set. But at this sale it was full of Victorian clothes and Victorian furniture. It has the Rose on top of them carved in the wood just like I've seen on real furniture. It's a velvet red material. The love seat measures 15in long X 15 tall. The chair measures 9in X 16 1/2 tall. The legs on the love seat look as though they were broke and put back on at one time. Other than that there both in nice condition. I'm no expert but look at pics for best description. John Henry Belter Antique Rococo Rosewood Meridienne Chaise lounge Sofa Settee
Selling with no reserve is a truly rare and wonderful example of an American Rocco carved and laminated rosewood meridienne attributed to John Henry Belter. The meridienne measures around 42" wide. 27 1/2" deep, 38" tall and about 17" to the top of the upholstered seat. The rosewood frame is tight, sturdy and in very good condition. This piece is in much better condition than other Belter pieces I have seen. The upholstery is old but not original. I see where the upholstery is worn and the edging has been re-tacked. I am classifying the upholstery as poor condition and taking away from the presentation of this piece.
