This 3-pc. Eastlake Victorian Suite. Circa 1880-90's features an upholstered settee/love seat measuring 46"w x 40.5"h and a pair of matching upholstered chairs, each 19"w x 37.5"h. w/ original soft green velveteen fabric. Though probably slightly faded. The upholstery is in very good condition& pleasing to the eye. The framework on all is cherry wood w/incised decoration. Each has original brass casters. Rare Victorian Carved Griffin Parlor Suite Herter Hunzinger
Awesome 3 piece walnut parlor suite! Some of the wonderful details that decorate this set are. Hoofed feet, carved crests, exquisite carved bearded griffins for arm supports. We simply cleaned and tightened this original finish suite up before we put new upholstery on it. The upholstery itself is of highest quality with deep burgundy and gold fibers. I believe it to be either Herter brothers of NY or of George Hunzinger who either of which could have produced the set. We are pleased to be offering today a gorgeous four piece Victorian burl walnut parlor set that consists of a gorgeous burl walnut panel ... morecarved loveseat and three matching side chairs of burl walnut carved design. The fabric has been done over somewhere along the line in an antique crush velour pale green on the loveseat and two of the side chairs. On the other chair is a pretty fancy brocade raised antique green fabric. Overall the set is in very nice condition. Someone paid a lot of money to have this set all reupholstered. The wood frame is all great. The burl walnut is all good on all the pieces and the set dates from the 1880s. The size of the love seat is 59 inches across the arms, from the back to the front is 23 inches deep, the height to the top of the carved crest is 41 inches high, the height to the arm is 24 inches high and the height to the seat is approximately 16 inches high. The sofa itself is in really nice tight condition. It features fluted legs, incise carvings, raised panel with burl walnut accent trim and is simply stunning. The back of the sofa has also been reupholstered so that it does not have to go up against a wall and can be left in the open if desired. The three side chairs are all the same size. A true complete set of seven pieces that has been together it's whole life and includes 2 full size sofas. 2 large arm chairs and 3 side chairs. The carving is great and the overall appearance is so pretty. Just set it up in my house to show what it could look like, it was hard to get any good pictures in the shop. We did the most thorough job of restoring this set and it needs nothing. The upholstery is so pretty and being of a dark burgundy and rich gold it will go with about any room setting. All springs have been retied and everything has been done to make this set more comfortable then it ever was. 3 PC ANTIQUE VICTORIAN RJ HORNER BROTHERS ERA WINGED GRIFFIN PARLOR SET SUITE
For sale here is a MASSIVE WINGED GRIFFIN 3 PIECE PARLOR SET IN AS FOUND CONDITION. DUE TO THE SIZE OF THIS IT MUST BE PICKED UP AT MY LOCATION IN HAGERSTOWN MD 21742. I CAN NOT PACK OR SHIP THIS. I DO KNOW 2 POSSIBLE SHIPPERS IF INTERESTED. The griffins are a plaster material- the rest is a maple wood stained mahogany color. THIS SET NEEDS RESTORED. Upholstery is torn in places- springs hanging out/ ect. The plaster griffin heads on the rocker have damage and have been filled in at some point with clay or plaster- see last two pictures. This could be better fixed by making a mold of a good face off the chair and then cut into place or just discard the rocker and have a two piece set.
