Unusual Redware Crock Vase With 8 Panels Decorated With Cherubs Handthrown?
Very unique and unusual piece of 8 sided redware decorated with cherubs- 5" tall and 4-3/4" across- Appears to have a salt type glaze or post fired finish- Has some chips as shown and some specks where the glaze pinholed. Here is another Rare Advertising Crock. This one is for Budlongs Pickles who was from the Chicago Area. They went out of Business in 1908 from my research. I think this was at least a gallon maybe more. Measures 9" x 10" across One flaw under lip that I'm not sure if it was a bubble in the clay or a chip I don't know please see pictures. Primitive Antique Stoneware Crock Old estate find in New England. This is a nice oval Shaped Stoneware Crock with blue cobalt decoration. Two applied handles at the sides and early glaze. Vintage Lot of 8 Cheese/Butter Crocks 5 of them are brown. 1 is a tan/beige color and the other is a light orange color The small tan/beige color is a Watkins crock. It is about 3"diameter x 3"H. The orange color crock is the same size. Both of these have the seal/ring. The metal wire snap top on the orange crock is rusted a little. The 3 medium sized crocks are about 3 1/4"diameter x 4 1/4"H. One has a rubber ring/seal. The other two do not. One of them also has a House of Cheese Sticker on the front which is partially worn off. The metal snap top wire on top has some of the silver color worn off. The 3 largest crocks are 4"diameter x 4 1/4"H. Two of them have the rubber ring/seal. The other crock does not. One of these is marked China on the bottom. There is a number on the bottom of another. The one without ... morethe seal seems to have a small chip. But it is cover with the same color brown as is the crock, so it may have been a manufacturer's flaw. This same crock also has a chip of paint missing on the side. They are all in very good condition. With the exception of some minor flaws. This crock measures: 15' tall wihth a base diameter of 11" It looks like it can hold 4 to 4 1/2 gallons. Has a weight of: 17 pounds. Hi up for auction I have an antique rum crock. The piece is marked: EAST INDIA Rum. It has the numbers/letters: S72. The crock has a nice imperial crown on the face. This crock is missing its lid. It does have a wood pour spout. I do not know is the spout is original to the piece. I do not think the spout works. Found in a barn in Michigan. It does have some wear. The crock has a few chips on the top lip. Please see photos#9 and#10. It has an internal crack in the glaze. This crack does not hurt the piece. Will hold liquid if you seal the pour spout hole. This exact crock sold on Ebay for $500.00. Up for auction is a stoneware cheese or butter crock. It is a darker brown color with bail and rubber seal. It measures approx. 3 1/4" in diameter and 4 1/4' tall not including the bail and the highest pont of the top or the knob.It has 175 and the cent mark on the bottom. It is in good used condition however it does have some scuffing or scratches on the one side. It does not take away from its use or even its appeal. An antique White Hall# 2 Crock in Great condition. the crock is marked#2 and originally had a flower design on each side but the left side is worn as shown in the pics. Under it is the state of Ill. with a"W" over an"H" then SP&S Co. Below it on the bottom it says Whitehall.Ill. All Lettering is blue. The top of the crock is 9 5/8" across and the height is approximately 9 1/2" from the base to the top. I show all aspects of the crock and most of the wear is on the bottom rim where it sits. This is an Antique Cheese Brown Pottery Crock With Wire Bale Hinged Lid in very good condition. It measures 4 1/4" tall to the top of the lid and 3 1/2" across the bottom. There is one very small place on the bottom rim I show in the pictures where the glaze skipped and there are no cracks or chips.There is no rubber seal. The inside of the lid has brown stains on the pottery. The original paper label is very faded but says Cold Pack Cheese Food and a list of the ingredients.there is no rust on the wire Bale Wire. It seal very tight. The bottom of the crock is unmarked and has rings as you can see in the pictures. A very nice piece of brown pottery.

Chips, repairs, or crazing only a little discoloration and scuff wear on the very bottom. Picture shows a little mark on the front but it's just from the camera and not really there.
