Late 1800's salt glazed stoneware crock with cobalt decoration. This crock features 4 squiggly horizontal stripes. This crock stands approximately ... more10" in height. Is 6" in diameter at the base, and 6.25" in diameter at the rim. It came out of a north-central West Virginia estate(about 5-min from the PA boarder) so it could be easily be either a SW PA or WV piece. This crock is essentially as-made. But does have a few noteworthy firing defects. Most notably, there is a 3" glaze crack running from the edge if the base up into the lower left side of the decoration when viewed head-on. The crack does not go into the inside, and no evidence of moisture was present after leaving it full of water overnight. There is a 5mm glaze pop to the left side of the decoration, but I believe this to be a firing defect due to the presence of glaze around the edges of the defect. On the inside there is a surface line extending from the rim, but it does not go through to the front of the crock. You may notice what looks like cracks on the underside in the photo of the base. This is neither cracking nor crazing. It is a fluctuation in the natural color. Overall a great piece, and I'll be sad to see it go! This crock ships double boxed and insured via USPS or your preferred shipper. If you wish to change shipping preferences. Please contact me prior to purchase. Local pickup is always welcome. Antique Southeastern Pennsylvania Redware Crock Lead Manganese Glazed By C. Link
Antique Primitive Pennsylvania Lead and Manganese Glazed Redware Small Apple Butter Crock By Christian Link For your Antique Redware or Christian Link Pottery Collection Details Description: Antique small redware crock. Apple Butter or Preserve Jar with a lead and manganese brown glazed exterior and interior. The bottom of the crock is unglazed. The glaze inside and out is the typical dark brown colored glaze used by Christian Link. The glaze is very shiny and is rather difficult to picture. Please note the dark spot you see in the center near the top is a reflection of me taking the photo. In addition, the piece does not show the black specs of manganese glazing as clearly as the photos using the flash do. However, when looking at the glaze closely one can clearly see the black colored specs within it, just nice. This wide mouth crock has ... morea round flat base with flared rounded sides which end in a flat outwards projecting and slightly slanted downwards rim. The rim is also glazed with the same brown colored glaze used throughout. The interior of the crock is glazed and has some soiling or residue from use, which we did not attempt to clean. The piece has three small clear plastic round feet that have been applied at a later date by the previous owner. The piece is marked by the maker on the bottom. It is of nice size and would display very well in your collection of antique Pennsylvania redware pottery. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of our description. Date: Mid 1800s or early 1900s. Origin: Exeter Township in Berks County Pennsylvania. Size: ~ 4" in height. 4 1/8" in diameter on top and 2 1/2" in diameter on at the base. The piece weighs about Maker: Christian Link. Marks: Impressed on the bottom in a hemispherical shape the name"C. LINK" Distinguishing Characteristics- Most Interesting About The Piece: This a very nice Pennsylvania primitive antique crock with a beautiful appearance made by a well known Pennsylvania German potter. Antique Redware Bowl Pennsylvania Crock Interior Glaze
ANTIQUE REDWARE BOWL CROCK WITH INTERIOR GLAZE This very nice large redware bowl. Belongs to a 94yr old lady that lived in the Cumberland Valley of Pennsylvania and tells me this is redware and it belonged to her grandmother? It measures 4-1/2' tall 9" across top and 5" at the bottom. The bowl features a dark pumpkin color glazed exterior. Incised rim. And a tan crackled interior. Perhaps the best feature of this old bowl is that it is in wonderful condition for its age. No cracks or hairlines but possible crazing or this is just the way it was made. But you can definitely tell it is an antique. In picture you will see a defect but it is not a whole or crack. A wonderful piece of nineteenth century Pennsylvania redware! UP FOR AUCTION A WONDERFUL Antique Stone Ware Floral Crock w lid. Done in an American Pennsylvania Dutch style blue jar pattern. Crock is a med to small size about the size of a jumbo pickle jar and very heavy. I bought this at a local flea market. Washed it, and shined it up. It may still need extra cleaning. Perfect for decor any home, add to any collection, or used to hold dry goods. Crock is about 6 inches tall and about 4 inches tall. I thought it was special since it still had a lid. Preowned, as is, some crazing and wear, but no heavy damage or big chips. Crack in underside of lid as seen. Comes from a smoke free home. Email with question if any. Thank you.

Small Antique 1800's Pennsylvania Stoneware Crock Jug w/ Green Colored Glaze
Up for bids is a small antique stoneware pottery crock jug frpm the mid 1800's with a light green and dark brown colored glaze as pictured. It was probably made here in southwestern Pennsylvania where it was found in the basement of an old farmhouse. There were several potteries here in the mid 1800's and I do not know the maker of this jug. The jug is a dark brown color covered by a glaze with a light green colored tint to it. The jug stands 9 1/4" high and measures about 5 1/2" wide across the middle. It has an old cork in it that someone tried to remove and after breaking the top off the cork just left the rest of the cork in it. It looks like it would hold about a quart of liquid. There is one small chip on the handle as seen in the last picture. Otherwise it is in very nice overall condition with the usual marks from ... morestacking and being fired in the kiln. Being sold as pictured and described so please ask any questions you may have before you place a bid.
Pennsylvania PA Stoneware Conrad New Geneva 2 Gallon 12" tall Crock Sealer Jar
I know nothing about pottery. Forgive the terms I use. This 12" tall crock has a scallop chip on the inside, clear from the picture, chip doesn't extend through the piece, you can't see light through it. There are 2 main cracks, kiln cracks( I don't know, but they don't seem to extend through to the inside of the crock; crock seems to have two thick layers, an inside layer& a thick glaze layer. 1st crack is at 12 o'clock if the face were at 6 o'clock, and the 2nd crack is at 9 o' clock. Both cracks have"tributary" cracks, and the cracks both connect to each other along the bottom of the piece. Inside of the piece seems to show no such cracks, so it may be a crack of the glaze only. The crack along the bottom at 12 o'clock is a tight crack that also goes through on the outside but can't ... morebe seen on the inside. There's also a minor crack along the bottom and lower side at 6 o'clock. It also isn't seen on the inside. Any questions, please ask. I'm around for US business hours.
