Antique Blue Band Stoneware No. 6 Crock with wood and wire bale handles
Decent shape. One hairline crack on the outside. Which can be seen on the inside. Two more very thin hairline cracks on the inside in the same area of the hairline that goes all the way through. Rust to the wire as seen in the pictures. Wear to the black paint on the wood handles. One of the wood handles is chipped. Some crazing to the pottery in the area where the handles attach. Weighs around 25 pounds. Stands 14 inches tall and measures 13 inches in diameter. Several more pictures directly below. Vintage Childs Ceramic Beater Jar and Beater
Greetings! Up for your consideration is a small child/doll sized blue band ceramic beater jar and a small metal and wood beater. The ceramic jar does have the rounded bottom same as the full sized models. The size is 2 3/8" tall. And 2 5/8" wide. The metal beater is 5.5" long. There is a hard to read because of the rust-patent date on the metal beater and also says. Which appears to be in the 1920's. MADE IN THE USA is legible. Condition is used; the ceramic jar does have glaze crazing. And a hairline crack. The metal beater does have paint loss and rust-but that only adds to it's character! 1800s Gray Saltglazed Stoneware Canning Crock - AS IS but grt colors & usable
This is a salt-glazed crock from the first half of the 1800s and more than likely made down around the Carolinas as this is where that old gray clay was most prevalent. It is a canning crock designed with the ridge where they put the hot sealing wax and then pressed a metal piece or fabrics into that to seal it and keep out bugs. It has that wonderful leathery texture that the glazes assumed in the firing when salt was thrown on them to create that lustre and to seal the finish. This one is 9" tall. 5 1/2" across the bottom and 4 1/2" across the top, rim to rim. The colors on this are wonderful as it is not a solid gray but one side during the firing for some reason shaded into golden brown hues- these early pieces sometimes did this and in my opinion it's like a piece of art. The rim on this is about 1/2" and is decorated ... morewith 3 incised rings around the outside. Then about 1 1/2 down the side there is another plain incised ring circling the crock. FLAWS: The poor old thing is not perfect and has suffered trauma. There are 3 cracks. Each equidistant from the other and each beginning on this thick rim and going down the side. One goes at an angle and around the side(and this one has a chip along the crack just below the rim where it starts- you can see it in the pics) and meets the other crack which goes all the way to the base but NOT into the bottom. Then there is a third which starts and goes down about 4" The saving grace is that they are all tight but I wouldn't put anything in it like wooden spoons which might stress these with pressure. My last 3 pictures show the cracks I have described and my next to last picture with the 3 fingers pointing to the top of each crack and my 2 fingers in the last one point to the distance between the two which converge. Hope this helps. HOWEVER. ALL THAT BEING SAID, it is a great piece to use for dried flowers or simply to display up on a shelf or cabinet to add'that look' that is so hard to get with newer items which just don't h

The parent of Lady Ellens' Fine Ware business, is a very fine genuine and desireable marked and early ovoid urn form salt glazed stoneware crock stamped WM E. WARNER WEST TROY with a hollow Numeral"2" beneath indicating two allon capacity size in nice mid grey smooth patina with attractive country good looks. Snatched from a deaccessioned downsized collection of over 30 years in New York State just last week. This item is market fresh and never wandered far from its manufacture area and was found within 50 miles of where made, very local indeed. That's just how I like to find them for you as I know many collectors seek only local stonewares for their collection near to where they live. Antique 20 gallon crock in excellent condition. An antique dealer told me that it has one of the thickest wall he has seen in a long time. It is heavy and cannot be shipped. 5 Gallon Stoneware Water Cooler Late 1800s Hotel Pub Bar Crock Jug
Here is a beautiful old water cooler from the late 1800s.doesn't look like it was ever used. It's about 5 gallons with a rich Albany type glaze inside and the upper outside. These were used in saloons. Bars, pubs, hotels and warehouses to hold the refreshment of choice. It is 18" tall.8 1/2" on the base and 38 1/2" around the ovoid middle. I bought it awhile back and was going to get an artist to paint a big red rooster on it and label it red roost rye.as a decorative piece.just didn't happen. The old wooden spigot didn't come with it but I'll throw that in as well. It weighs almost 22 lbs. unboxed so you can figure 25 lbs to your zip from 23851.for postage. Any extra postage fee will be returned.

A brown. Slip-glazed Canning Jar or Wax Sealer Crock in excellent overall condition, ca.1890. The body is stenciled in white slip: DONAGHHO CO. PARKERSBURG. This is the mark of Alexander Donaghho, who operated a pottery in West Virginia, 1874-1900. The inner rim has some general wear and a small chip; also a minor flake in the glaze(lower front) otherwise mint. No hairlines, cracks, repaired damage or restoration work. Nice old butter crock with blue stenciled lettering- stands 4 1/2" tall and about 7 1/2" across. I do not know who the manufacturer would be. Crock is shiny inside and out with no chips; however. There are two hairline cracks on opposite sides which are visible inside and out. On the outside the cracks are only 1 1/2" long; however, on the inside the cracks extend for about 3" See the last four photos. Because the cracks are almost straight across from each other, I am wondering if this damage was initially caused during the manufacturing process. Well preserved for being 168 years old Measures approx 9 1/4" from handle to handle and 2 1/4" high with lid. Signed with initials and numbers etched into porcelain. Looks like DS with numbers. This auction is for an antique 1 gallon stoneware crock jar with original lid and cup. The crock is in great condition. No cracks or breaks. It has a couple little chips along the top edge. But could be mold chips. They look like they've been there for awhile. The lid does have some rust damage, and has a couple spots where it's gone though(pictured) The cup has some rust and has one 1/2" crack(pictured) Measures 10" tall with the cup on it, and 7" wide. Rare Antique A.B. Wheeler Boston, MA Stoneware Crock w/Large Bird & Branch Glaze
This auction is for a rare A.B. Wheeler& Co. 3 gallon stoneware crock with a beautiful cobalt blue bird decoration. This crock is incised A.B. Wheeler& Co. 69 Broad Street Boston. Mass. above a large number 3. There is a very large decoration of a bird on a branch, which takes up most of the front of the crock. The crock is about 10.5" tall and 10.5" wide and is in excellent condition. There are no cracks or repairs, and only 3 very small chips. The largest is about 3/8" and is on the rim. There is also a very small chip on the right handle, and another tiny chip to the rim. The interior glaze of the crock is perfect and remarkably clean. This crock was freshly picked from an attic in an old Andover, Massachusetts estate. A.B. Wheeler& Co. was active from about 1860-1890 and I would estimate this crock to date from ... morearound 1880. Small Stoneware Crock with Damaged Lid
Small Stoneware Crock with damaged lid. Damage to lid is an area that has been chipped but repaired. There is still a small missing piece at the chip that should be visible in the close-up photos of the lid. It was repaired before I bought it. There are no other major defects to either piece. There are some small air bubble marks but that's pretty common with the older stoneware pieces. No markings on either piece to identify the manufacturer. Crock is just under 6" tall and is just over 6" wide without the lid. With the lid. It's just about 7 1/2" tall. I think this is a half gallon crock but it could be a 1 gallon. This is a great old primitive crock. Purchased at an antique auction in Lancaster PA. Earthy clay piece which is handpainted with sunflowers and sage green trim along mouth. Measures approx 5.75" high with a base of 4 5/8" across, and mouth opening"hole part" of 2.75" There is no lid. We believe this to be from the 1800s. The painted sunflowers are likely a later addition. Wire bale handle with turned wood painted sage or avocado green. Some chipping to the paint and crazing on the glaze. I see 2 hairline cracks which I can't feel as they are under the glaze. Beautiful primitive piece would be a great planter. Early American REDWARE Stoneware Ovoid CROCK Jar Incised BEST Glaze RARE Handled
Lg. Early ANTIQUE REDWARE Stoneware OVOID CROCK Jar Jug Incised- RARE Handles This listing is for an early antique stoneware redware ovoid shape handled crock or storage jar with primitive. Out of round form. The handles on this crock are very unusual and rare. They look to be formed or pulled from the piece. Rather than applied as is commonly seen. The crock is indented, creating a recess behind each handle that allows for carrying. The handles are joined to the main body of the crock on each end. They have an arched shape that makes them easy and comfortable to hold on to. It seems to be an ingenious design. Yet I have not seen this type of handle before. And cannot find another example in any of the American stoneware pottery books. This utilitarian crock or jar was given some beautiful decorative touches with both incised and raised banding ... morearound the body of the piece. At the mouth. There is a rolled rim with two incised bands beneath. In the middle, at handle height, the crock has four raised bands that encircle it at the widest point. The glaze on this jar is stunning. With a wide range of color. There are shapes formed by the glaze that look almost like letters, perhaps a mark of some sort? Or maybe just a happy accident. I believe this piece is quite old. Dating to the early to mid 19 th century. Possibly even the late 18 th century. Though I don’t know the exact age. It measures approx. 12” tall and 12” across the widest point. The mouth is approx. 8-8 ½” across and the base measures 6 ¼” in diameter. The handles are approx. 3 ¼” long x ½” thick. The jar is in very good antique condition. It has appropriate wear for a utilitarian pottery piece of this age. The piece has no cracks or other structural damage. The lip of the crock shows a fair amount of age related wear. Most of the wear is superficial only. With a number of areas where the glaze has flaked or chipped off, but there are just a couple of shallow surface chips as well(please see pictures. ODDITY Upside Down oval - Vintage Red Wing Union Stoneware 2 two Gallon Crock
Here is a Vintage Red Wing Minnesota Union Stoneware Co. 2 Gallon Crock. It is rare because of a factory flaw- the oval was applied upside down! I understand that this occurrence is not unheard of. But it is rare. Here is an opportunity to add a different crock to your collection. The crock is in pretty nice condition. Has some wear and a very minor chip along the bottom rim. Also a little"pit" adjacent to the oval and two scrapes through the wing that looks to me like it left the factory that way. Wing is about 4" long. Photos describe best.

4 Gallon Stoneware Crock S Hart Fulton NY with 2 Birds
A nice vintage 4 gallon crock made in Fulton NY. Very old but I have no idea exactly how old. Weighs over 15 pounds. 2 birds painted in cobalt blue. Has a 6-8" crack that can be seen in the pictures. Otherwise good shape. Please allow a couple extra days for shipping so I can gather a big box and plenty of packing.
