We are listing today for your consideration a lovely Antique 19th Century Stoneware Saltglazed Cobalt Blue Flower Design 2 Gallon Ovoid Crock. This crock is in Excellent Condition with a few spider cracks on the base with 2 going through to the inside. 3 of them extend up the outside bottom of the crock. There are minor shallow chips to the upper rim. Both outside and inside. The crock is 100% structually sound, it rings true when you tap it and holds water no leaks. No other issues at all. The crock measures 12" tall x 10" wide x 8" at the mouth x 6 1/4" at the base and weighs approximately 10lb 10oz. The crock has an incised 2 below the one handle. A lovely large crock with a great ovoid shape and applied handles. It has a heavy and dark cobalt blue flower and leaf design that borders the top half of the crock. Fisher Lyons N.Y. 2 Gallon Blue Decorated Crock As Is Shown 10 3/4" OD 8 3/8" ID 9 1/4" Height. Crock weighs 9 lbs. and holds 2 gallons. This item is in fair to good condition. The crock has scuffing on the unglazed bottom and some scrapes that run along the bottom ranging in size from 2 1/2"4 1/2" There is also some pitting and blackening around the outer bottom rim. The glaze on the outside is in excellent condition with no scratches or dings anywhere. On one handle there is a 1/2" chip and adjacent to the handle. On the top there are 2 more chips. One chip is 3/4" the other is 5/8" On the unglazed top rim, there is brownish coloring along with some scratches, scuffing, and another ... morechip that is 3/8" in size. There also is a small hole right next to the chip due to potter's flaw. On the inside. Some of the glaze has worn off from normal usage, as well as some dirt that did not come off when we washed it with soap and water. There are brush strokes that can be seen when you get close up from where the potter put the glaze on. Also, there is some white paint? that can be seen along the bottom inside edges. The crock brands a stamp that reads: J Fisher& Co. Lyons. N.Y. Directly beneath the stamp is a blue hand-decorated leaf/floral design. Being sold as is. As shown. This CROCK was made by Fulper Bros. Flemington. NJ between 1881- 1898. It is a very nice Blue Decorated Stoneware, 2 Gallon CROCK. It is in good condition considering its age. There are 7 chips. On the front of the rim there is a chip that measures 1 7/16" x 5/8" and a chip that measures 1/2" x 1/2" There is a small chip on the lettering 3/8" x 3/8" There is a 1/2" x 1/2" chip on the rim right above the left handle. On the inside of the rim there is a 1/4" chip(circle) Inside the CROCK there are two very small white chips. The first one measures 7/16" x 3/16" and the other one is very tiny. There are no hairline cracks, restorations or base chips. It measures 9" tall and 9 3/4" in diameter. This lovely Crock ships double boxed. This is a ca.1850 lovely. Slip blue, finger hand painted ghost lily decorated, salt glaze, stoneware 2 gallon storage container. This lovely stone glaze stoneware storage container is in very good condition with just a small, typical chip to the inner rim of the stoneware container. It has love handles sliced into the clay for holding and handling and brown painted on the inside, typical of this time and era but is a true antique in need of a home due to my moving! Please look at the pics and I have not provided dimensions as they are typical to a 2 Gallon container. This is a very sweet and lovey slip blue stoneware glaze storage jug/container. This is an Antique Stoneware Crock that is marked J. Eberly& Bro. Strasburg, Virginia. It is a 1 1/2 Gallon Crock with 4 Blue Decorated Flowers on it. From what I have read, this Crock is from the Late 1800s. The stamp is the mark of Jacob Jeremiah Eberly and his brother Joseph who began pottery manufacture in 1874 after buying a share of Keister Pottery. See the discussion in H. E. Comstock, The Pottery of the Shenandoah Valley Region, p. 399. This Crock measures 9 5/8" tall by 7 1/2" in diameter and weighs a little over 7 pounds. The Crock is a little more grey in color then my pictures show. I may have had to much light on it when I took the pictures. This Antique Stoneware Crock is in Excellent Condition. VA antique 1 & 1/2 gallon blue decorated crock
I am selling a VA 1 and 1/2 gallon antique cobalt blue decorated crock. It has 4 separate large feather decorations around the surface. It is a beautiful piece of stoneware. It is 11 1/2" tall and it has a 7" diameter top. There is an insignificant chip around the rim and an age hairline that can be seen from the inside of the crock which can be noted in the photo. I took a photo of the exterior and the age hairline is nearly impossible to see. The crock is in superb condition otherwise. I wrap my items thoroughly to ensure their safety when traveling. I am selling an antique signed P. Herrmann 2 gallon decorated crock. 3 separate floral blue decorations go around the top. The crock is marked at top which can be seen in photo. I t is about 12 3/4" high and it has a 7 3/4" diameter across top. The condition is superb. No cracks. Breaks, or damage to the body noted. This crock was made between 1892- and 1945 according to the information I have been given. It has some dirt inside which can be cleaned and a mark on the bottom edge as shown.
