This is an Antique Lord Stoutenburg& Co. Chicago Stoneware Crock. This is a cool old crock and it really shows it's age. Unfortunately, I have been unable to find any information on this company. I did find a bunch of Stoutenburg genealogy information but nothing that led to this business. There are a couple of hairline cracks and one major repair to this crock so please inspect the pictures very carefully. It has a couple of minor chips out of the top lip. It is quite obvious this crock will not hold liquids and cannot be used for canning or sauerkraut but for a collector, it would be a great find as I have yet to see another like it. It measures 10 1/4" tall x 5" in diameter at the top x 6 1/2" in diameter at the base. Thanks for looking! Questions welcome. For your consideration is a one gallon crock made by Western Stoneware of Monmouth. Illinois. When this crock was manufactured, a tie ring and five vents were included. The tie ring is the extra ring around the top; this is so a piece of cloth can be placed over the top and hehd in place by a string in this groove. The vents are the five indentations on the bottom that allow the hot air and gases in the kiln to circulate during firing. The height is almost 8" and the bottom has a diameter of 7 1/4" This crock has minor chips and major cracks. Please examine the pictures carefully.

For your consideration is a two gallon crock made by Buckeye Pottery. The debossed writing on the bottom says: BUCKEYE POTTERY CO. MACOMB ILL. This company was founded in 1882 and existed until 1941; the glaze on this crock indicates it was made in 1896 or later. The glaze is a dirty white and the 2 is blue. This crock has a tie ring. Meaning a cloth could be draped over the top and held in place by a string ran around the crock and held in place by this groove. The height is 9 1/4" and the bottom is 9" in diameter. On the top rim, is a small chip; this chip is directly above the 2. On the bottom edge, are 3-4 chips that are larger and some minor to insignificant imperfections; the largest chip is approximately one inch wide and approximately 3/4 of an inch tall. Lidded Jar from Weir Western Stoneware Co. Monmouth Illinois
These lidded crocks are quite a find! They have their lids. Which tell us the company and are complete with their metal closures, even though they are rusted. The lids read"Western Stoneware Co. Monmouth, Illinois" on the outer edges. Inside those words are"Weir Seal" and another mark across from that which is hard to read, it possibly says No. 4. They are about 7.5" high. The diameter of the lid is 4" and the base is 5.5" in diameter. They weigh 4-5 lbs. each. The Monmouth Pottery Co. began in 1894. And the Weir Co. in 1899. In 1906 they merged with 5 other companies to create Western Stoneware Co. They had 7 factories back then. Today, over 100 years later, they still produce stoneware, but in only one factory remaining in Monmouth Illinois.

Please carefully examine the pictures carefully. I tried to get every angle. I believe this is a Buckeye Pottery crock. From all the research I have done I have only seen one other like it and it was a 2 gallon. The crock stands a bit over 7 1/2 inches tall and is a bit over 7 1/2 inches wide from the outside rim. I do not see and cracks in it at all. It is a beautiful piece. It has vents on the bottom. Ruckels-White Hall, Illinois Stoneware 2 Gal. Blue Sawtooth Crock
Up for your consideration is this outstanding 2 gallon cobalt blue sawtooth jar with lid from Ruckels in White Hall. Illinois. It is as close to mint as you can find. Other than a very small chip at base shown in photo it is just the way it left the factory. Check out the various shades of beautiful cobalt blue that vary throughout the vessel. It has what appear to be nail impressions throughout the jar adding more character-as if it needed it. The bottom of the jar could not be any nicer than this-just like brand new. It also has the blue lid to go with it. It has a few typical glaze pops found in stoneware but once again in excellent condition. Some of you have seen it at swap meets and know what I mean. You will not find a nicer example unless it has been wrapped up since it came off the production line. 20 Gallon Stoneware Crock Blue Ribbon Buckeye Pottery Macomb illinois
Nice 20 gallon crock in good condition for its age. It has two hairline cracks which should show in the photos. One is below the ribbon and the other is on the inside lip of the piece. The area around both is solid and they do not appear to have an impact on the pieces integrity. There are 3 or 4 areas on the bottom which have some chips. They also should show in the photos and are surface only. The top lip has wear as would be expected for a piece this old. The walls of the crock are about 1 1/4" thick and it weighs around 85 pounds. Colors and details are good. It is about 21 3/4" tall and 18 1/2" across at the top. Photos should show details. Please email me any questions. This is a good solid piece. This is for local pick up only. If the new owner wants the item shipped they will have to arrange for it to be picked up at ... moremy location. I will not package it or transport it to a carrier. Offered is an antique Ice Water cooler#5 Crock Jar measuring 13" tall and 12" wide. This crock is in great condition. All original with no chips, no cracks and no repairs. It has the original spicket and is glazed in bristol with with blue lettering. This jar was produced by the White Hall Sewer Pipe& Stoneware Company of White Hall Illinois, 1900-1940 era. It holds 5 gallons and is a great hard to find piece. It has the blue Ice Water mark above the Illinois state logo with WH SP&S Co White Hall Illinois. The jar has been well cared for and shows no heavy marks or wear from age or use. It has a very faint hairline on the inner rim of the jar, just at the top and does not show outside. Im being picky but I want to point out everything I see. The spicket button is stuck or frozen so it will need to be worked with.
