Old little crock which is dated in cobalt blue glaze"1839" The opposite side is decorated with some leaves. This crock measures approximately 8" tall and 7 1/2" wide. This crock has so much wonderful patina. it is nitty and gritty and has been used and loved to death. This crock is being sold'as is' because it has some cracks, the handles are missing, and there is a lot of damage to the surface. Blue decoration on one side, back of crock has the starting of a design that was stenciled and never finished(very cool factory goof up) crock has no cracks, handles are good, some chips around inner, and outer upper rim, stone pop, small overlaps of clay around bottom with very small, flat chip, looks to be a crack but it is not. 1 factory gauge by decoration. Very cool and rare little crock. Normal ware and tear. Factory flaws, blemishes& flakes* If there are any questions. Please ask! Up for auction is a nice antique crock with blue decorated double tulips. Attention Somerset. I believe this design was used by them. In great overall condition. There is a very small nick on the inside bottom rim on one of the handles and one small nick on the interior rim, both are pictured and could be filled. They are not bad at all and not really a damage I would say just mentioning to be as accurate as I can. 1986 Signed "Pennsylvania" Blue & White Decorated Pottery Crock- 6 1/4 x 5 1/2"
This crock is signed with a script signature on the bottom that I can't make out but it is dated 1986. Great grey speckled pottery with a single blue band and the top and what looks like a pumpkin( on the front. Also. At the bottom edge there is a symbol of some kind that may mean something. Excellent shape it measures 6 1/4" across the top and is 5 1/2" tall. Great shape with no chips or cracks. The blue decoration is in a beautiful state of repair with virtually no wear. There is a large chip to the rim right of center on the side. Measuring nearly 2.25" in length. There is also a hairline on the back of the piece, which starts at the rim and extends about 4" downward. There is one small fingernail stone pop as seen in the picture. there is a line on the rim but as you can see there is a spot where something hit it before it was fired. So it was in the making. Antique Blue Decorated 1 1/2 Gallon STONEWARE CROCK J Eberly Strasburg Virginia
This is an Antique Stoneware Crock that is marked J. Eberly& Bro. Strasburg, Virginia. It is a 1 1/2 Gallon Crock with 4 Blue Decorated Flowers on it. From what I have read, this Crock is from the Late 1800s. The stamp is the mark of Jacob Jeremiah Eberly and his brother Joseph who began pottery manufacture in 1874 after buying a share of Keister Pottery. See the discussion in H. E. Comstock, The Pottery of the Shenandoah Valley Region, p. 399. This Crock measures 9 5/8" tall by 7 1/2" in diameter and weighs a little over 7 pounds. The Crock is a little more grey in color then my pictures show. I may have had to much light on it when I took the pictures. This Antique Stoneware Crock is in Excellent Condition. There are two small flake chips on the mouth. There is some dark residue under the rim and there is a yellow stain/residue on the outer edge of the rim. There are some dark spots around the bottom. The highly decorative design ... moreis clear but slightly worn.The inside is glazed a dark brown/grey color. It is clean inside and out. 1 1/2" has been written on near the bottom of the crock. Here's a great offering of a 1 gallon stoneware crock with blue slip decoration. I have no idea of the artisan but attempted to capture the maker's mark in Pic 4. The crock is in fantastic condition in my opinion. The color. Graphics and patina on this piece of stoneware speaks for itself. There does appear some browning on one side that I believe is due to manufacturing. But this is just one fine example we're proud to offer! This is a great piece for the collector. VA antique 1 & 1/2 gallon blue decorated crock
I am selling a VA 1 and 1/2 gallon antique cobalt blue decorated crock. It has 4 separate large feather decorations around the surface. It is a beautiful piece of stoneware. It is 11 1/2" tall and it has a 7" diameter top. There is an insignificant chip around the rim and an age hairline that can be seen from the inside of the crock which can be noted in the photo. I took a photo of the exterior and the age hairline is nearly impossible to see. The crock is in superb condition otherwise. I wrap my items thoroughly to ensure their safety when traveling.
