It has a white glaze and stamped in cobalt blue'Ruckel's Stoneware' mark and'2' for 2 gallon size. Established in 1870 in White Hall Illinois. This is an amazing rare antique butter churn styled stoneware crock(3 gallon? It is very old. I don't know if it was originally a wine or beverage dispenser, however the wine letters are or look like they are under the glaze. The spout is new, but the hole appears to be original? It is very old as you can tell by all the crazing and there is a chip at the back of the crock. It is missing the lid. But it is super cool. I love it and I don't drink, my husband thought I was nuts when I bought it at an estate sale. It measures 12" tall by approx 8 1/2" across at the widest point, the mouth opening is 5" across. The bottom is not glazed but the rest of it is. I think it could be reglazed so it could be used all the time. Complete with primitive wood lid and dasher. It's cobalt glaze acorn insignia reads: ACORN WARES | UHL POTTERY CO. HUNGTINBURG, INDIANA. Condition: Very nice! The wood lid and dasher show some age(splits and just age plus it's imperfectly round; the glue to the plunger is old and brittle. A bit loose- but easily re-glued) But the crock itself is in beautiful vintage condition. There are surface imperfections(character and patina) but they all appear to be original to the manufacture of the piece. Or just from age(slight crazing) i.e. no discernable damage or repairs. I couldn't get photos of all imperfections. The two small ones front near bottom ... moreappear from the making of the piece- a small piece of extra clay, and a small smudge nearby. The glaze overall is still nicely glossly; the cobalt gaze is clear and dark; even the black-painted wood handles are in amazing condition. This vintage stoneware crock was dug up from an old estate here in Polk cty or Mena ar by a lady and I purchased it. It measures roughly 9 and 1/2 by 6 and 1/2inches. I can't see who the maker is but it's very neat. There is a chip on the lid very small but you can see it and some light chipping around the outer edges of the churn. This 3 Gallon Butter Churn With Blue Star and Circle comes with the wood lid and the stamper. The butter churn is 14" tall and 9-1/2" across at its widest point. The lid is 7-5/8" wide. The stamper is 35" long and the wood pieces at the end of the stamper are 6-7/8" across. The Blue Circle is 2-3/8" wide. One of the handles is missing the piece of wood. The crock base of the butter churn measures 9.5” in diameter at its base and stands 15.75” high. It has a blue“4” A small red wing and“Red Wing Potteries, Inc. Red Wing, Minn. in blue on its front. It is in very good condition with no chips or cracks visible from the outside of the base(see picture of a hairline crack visible from inside the crock) Also see the picture of a mold crack on the back top rim of the crock that looks like it was glazed over when it was produced. Antique Stoneware 5 Gallon Butter Churn Crock with lid and butter churn stick. is beige with blue number 5 on it with a small blue decoration on either side of the number. the churn itself measures approx 17 1/4" tall with the lid- 16 1/2" tall to the top of the churn itself. the butter churn stick sticks out of the top approx 25" overall the stick is 40 1/2" long. Very nice antique butter churn crock. This size may be rarer than most. I have searched other listings and have not seen one exactly like this. This crock is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. Outside is very clean with glaze in good shape. ANTIQUE ROBINSON RANSBOTTOM BLUE CROWN BUTTER CHURN This is a great antique butter churn crock. It features the number 3 with a blue crown which signifies it as a Robinson RANSBOTTOM pottery piece. It is in very good shape for the age. It has some light crazing inside and out. There is also a chip on the lid(top) I looked the crock over very carefully and there are NO cracks to note. A very large and beautiful antique REDWING butter churn. UNION STONEWARE COMPANY. RED WING MINN. Weighs about 22 pounds dry. Very big, very beautiful. Great red wing and seal. Good news: it's large and all original. Original top and dasher. Bad news: There is one rim chip. Not bad. There is a crack at the top, inside and out about 12" long. The crock is quite solid with no movement, but when you rap your knuckles on the crock you can hear it vibrate. The crack is in the back so not visible when displayed. No other cracks or chips. Bottom edge is in excellent condition. The lid edge has what looks like damage, but it is not. it's original molding marks under the glaze. This is an Antique Blue Slip Wreath 4 gallon Stoneware Butter Churn or Crock. It is 16"h x 9 1/2"w. There is a wooden pole and beater which has broken off of the pole and needs to be repaired. It also has a wooden top with a hole for the beater to go through. There is a chip on the bottom edge around the back. It has overall discoloring from the firing.
