Up for sale is an Antique whiskey? apple cider Jug/ Crock Jug. It measures 9" tall by 7 1/2" wide by itself. Its 12 1/2" tall with the handle up. This is a great looking jug but it does have a few issues. there is the chip on the lip of the spout, it only shows on the one side you can spin it around for display and it does not show. Also there is a chip on the bottoms edge. the handle has weather wear to it like sun rot, and the wire is rusted but the handle is still working fine. this is a great jug and it has a great look. it needs a big cork for the top and its ready for display. please email with any questions, I have 4 more of these type jugs listed now in my store, thank you.

Stoneware Five Gallon Red Wing Crock with Four Inch Wing Wood & Wire Handles
For your consideration is a five gallon Red Wing crock. This crock has a four inch wing and an oval that is 2 1/4" wide and almost 1 1/2" tall; the writing in the oval says: RED WING- U NION S TONEWARE C O. RED WING. MINN. This writing indicates this crock was manufactured 1915-1930. The wood and wire handles were patented Dec. 21 st. 1915. The marks on the bottom are a good example of kiln stacking. This crock is approximately 13 1/2" tall and the bottom is approximately 12" in diameter. The paint is wore off from the wood on both handles and on the right handle the wood is chipped. On the backside of the crock. The inner rim is chipped in two places. The edge of the bottom has a chip on the front and another chip on the right side. There is a very minor hairline near the bottom and near the front. Please, carefully examine ... morethe pictures, as the pictures are part of the description. Hardly ever see one with lids anymore. The spout has some chips that almost look like glaze misses. The top is a slightly different color but could have been glazed at a different time. Nice etched design on it but unmarked. Almost 11" tall with lid. I thought I took a picture with the lid, will have to add it later. Grrr. old age strikes again! PLEASE SEE MY PHOTOS. This is a very early stoneware bowl with a wire handle and wooden holder. It is marked on the bottom with a large star and says"The German" It has the blue glaze on the inside. It does have two chips on the rim. Which I attempted to photo. It measures 6" tall 12" across the top and the bottom is 7 1/2" across. It has a nice diamond pattern and it does have discoloration where it looks like it may have sat in some grease. I believe this to be a very early piece and the age and wear to it be age appropriate. Here is a lovely early yellowware salt crock with a wooden hinged lid. This salt box is made so it can hang on the wall. This is in excellent original condition for its age& has no chips. Cracks or repairs. This crock still has a shiny glaze both inside& out. The hinged lid is also in nice shape& all the hardware looks original. There are typical glaze imperfections, faint crazing& one darkened craze line on the back right as pictured. There is one tiny whitish glaze pop on the mid front bottom, the two tiny black spots on the right bottom edge are now gone. The black letters"SALT" are slightly blurred. This salt box measures about 6" tall at the back, 4 5/8" in the front& 6" in diameter. This is unmarked& is a HEAVY crock weighing 2 lbs 8oz. The crock does not have any cracks or chips that I can find, but look at picture on inside bottom- looks like a hairline but it was in the making of the crock. DICKSON.HATS, CAPS, FURS, on STATE STREET, ALBANY NEW YORK. Potentially it could have been used in many ways.apple cider, molasses or honey.whatever. I think this crock was manufactured around 1837 by Moira Pottery in England, and I say this simply because I found another very similar one(ceramic screw top, metal handle on top, wood and cork spigot, same dimensions) which was dated thus. This crock is in very good condition. It is fourteen inches tall(not including the metal handle) and about seven inches diameter. It weighs about nine pounds. Antique Large Stoneware Crock with Wire and Wood Bail Handle - Pat Feb. 11, 1896
Description: This is a stoneware crock with bale and wood handle. The crock has the holes for the wire hanger fired into the stoneware. There was one of these that was smaller that sold recently on eBay that had the same patent date but was only about 2/3 the size of this crock. It measures 9" across x 9 1/4" high and it is 6 1/2" across at the top. There are no markings except for the" Patented Feb 11. 1896" fired into the lower part of one side. It is in good condition for this old crock with the normal firing flaws. It has some crazing on the outside but it is noticeable only at close examination. On the inside it looks like a couple of lines but they do not show up on the outside so I think none of these are cracks and comes from firing as you can see in my pictures. I am not any kind of an expert so I do not know if this is common for old stoneware but I do know that it makes that solid ringing sound when I rap my knuckle on it. Great antique Salt Box from the turn of the century. It has it's original wood lid which is fastened with a screw from the back. It measures almost 6" tall and the same in width. I have looked this piece over and there are no cracks or hairlines. It is a solid piece. As was typical of stoneware from this time period.
