Glaze is nicely variegated- study photos to get the feel and look of this relatively heavy piece(for its size) Does not appear to be missing a lid- the way the opening was made, I do not believe this ever had a lid, at least not a ceramic one that would have been incorporated into the clay design when the piece was hand thrown. Looks like this crock could originate from the Catawba Valley Pottery, but just my opinion. Glaze& form reminds me a little bit of Pewabic Pottery pieces, but not iridescent. Not much wear given its age- glaze has rubbed off in a few small spots around the rim(see photo) but no serious chips or cracks. Bottom is unmarked. All sales are final- no returns. Up for auction today is a Vintage S to neware lid Unknown ma ker and item this goes on. But. I found it on top of a Monmouth 2 Gallon crock, and it fit, but just a bit big and d id not look right. So I am pretty sure it did not go with it-but would assume it would be for a 2 or 3 gallon stoneware crock. Measures just over 1 0.25" diameter and is 8.5" wide at t he insert that goes into the crock. That part is be veled or ang eled. 10 Gallon Antique Crock
This Crock seems to be in very good shape. I could not see any cracks or chips. It does have a couple spots of what seems to be latex paint on it. I scratched at one of them with my fingernail and the paint started coming off. So it should clean up nicely. The pictures are of all sides, I rotated the crock as I took them, so you can refer to them for the condition of the crock. It has a picture of a shield with a 5 leaf clover or flower on it with the number 10. It will be packed well and marked fragile glass before shipping. antique blue banded 10 gallon water cooler crock. this crock measures 20" x 16" including lid and tap. overall good condition with no chips no cracks no repairs with some crazing due to age. beautiful blue bands and a blue number 10 tap looks like original. A little hard to turn on and off. i do not think the lid is original but is a very nice crock lid. very nice decorator piece in size and color. shipping includes double boxing and insurance. can not ship to PO box# please ask questions and look at all pictures.

Vintage 3 Gallon Red Wing Union Stoneware Co Crock Redwing MINN. 10" Tall NEAT!!
This auction is for a Vintage Red Wing 3 gallon crock. Has a blue number 3 on the front. A red wing and the Red Wing Union Stoneware Co. Red Wing Minn. Stands right at 10" tall with a diameter of right at 10.5" across. This has some blemishes, a chip on the rim and fractures across the bottom as you can see in the photos. Also on the bottom someone has placed felt pads so the crock wouldn't scratch any surface it set on, these could be removed. This is solid, the fractures are not breaks. All of the blemishes to me, add character to these pieces. Nice find! Coming from a smoke and pet free home. Good luck and happy bidding!

Ruckel's stoneware 10 gallon crock with bales-excellent condition
This is a Ruckel's Stoneware 10 gallon crock in extra good condition. I have a Western Stoneware 12 gallon crock that looks small sitting next to this 10 gallon Ruckel's. In comparing it with the Western crock. It would look more like a 16 or 18 gallon size. The glaze is nice and shiny and the original bales are like new. No cracks anywhere- one small chip on bottom back side. It's 18 1/2" tall and 16 1/2" wide-not including bales. Weighs over 40 lbs so shipping will be kind of high. This one will be worth it, though. I do think this crock was repainted because I can see paint runoff. I also think this pentagram may be also added on. This crock is made just like the crown maker would make it so I think it may be a crown brand because I can not find a brand with a pentagram on it. You may know more about this crock than I do. I have a great 10 gallon Redwing Water Cooler for sale. Very rare to find with the spigot intact. This crock has no chips at all and no major cracks. There is a'crows foot" on the bottom edge as pictured but overall. A very nice example of the 10 gallon size from Redwing. The small wing was smudged at the factory. Some of the other marks that look like cracks on the side of the crock are not cracks. They are flaws from the factory. Please look closely at the pics.

For auction I have an antique brown Crock lid. The lid is almost perfect condition with no cracks but one small chip. Only on the inside. You may see other imperfections but there from the factory. I dont know what pottery company made this lid because I can't find any markings. Possibly a red wing, fort dodge or western. As far as what size it fits i cant tell you for sure im guessing 6 8 10 or 12gal. Best thing to do is measure your crock then look at where I have my tape measure laid out on the lid and see if you get a close match. Long as its close it will most likely work for you. Excellent Antique Red Wing Union 10 Gallon Stoneware Crock w/ Bail Handles
This is an excellent antique 10 gallon Red Wing stoneware crock with very little damage and nice markings including a union oval and red 6" wing. There is a tiny flake on the top edge. Shown in the photos, and a faint hairline or mark on the inside(visible on the outside surface) shown in the photos. There is some surface rust on the metal wire of the bail handles and the wooden parts have some heavy wear along the edges. The crock has a patent date of December 21st, 1915 marked on one side by the handle. The crock measures 16" H x 15" W. It will be packed very well, double boxed, and insured during shipping.

NICE BOLD Antique 10 Gallon Red Wing Union Stoneware Crock w/ Bail Handles
This is a fantastic antique Red Wing stoneware crock with crisp. Bold markings(some of the boldest I've seen) including a large 6" red wing, union oval, and patent date of Dec. 21 1915 on the side by the handle. The crock is in good condition with only one faint hairline on the top back edge and one chip on the side bottom edge, both shown in the photos. There is also a small, shallow factory crack on the inside bottom surface that happened during firing and does not go all the way through. The bail handle wires have some surface rust and both are slightly bent. The wood on the handles are in good condition with faded paint, but no major cracking or wear. The crock measures 16" H x 15" W. It will be packed very well, double boxed, and insured during shipping.

This crock is in Excellent Condition with 2 chips at the base that are covered with saltglaze& a very slight very tight surface line on the inside of the top rim that extends down approximately 3/4" and is covered with saltglaze. There is manufactured roughness and a saltglaze drip line. These issues all happened during the making of this crock. There are no other chips. Cracks, and or repairs. Antique Red Wing 10 Gallon Stoneware Crock Bail Handles Salt Glazed Petal Cover
For you today is a Fabulous Antique Red Wing 10 Gallon Stoneware Crock with black wood bail handles. The metal handle supports are strong and intact. The Wing on this crock is much larger and brighter than I have seen on many crocks. Beautiful. The crock itself is very clean and in wonderful condition especially for being almost 100 years old. It is dated by the right handle. Patented, Dec. 21st, 1915. There are 2 cracks on the inside bottom that are about 3/4 of an inch long if that. One, a surface scratch and the other is a bit bigger. There is one turkey track on the back. There are some surface cracks around the crock, nothing serious at all. The Salt Glazed Lid has a light#10 on the top of one of the petals. It has some surface cracks on it, again nothing serious. It also has a few turkey tracks. The crock has one 1/2" chip on the ... morebottom edge and the lid has one chip the same size approx. on the round lip underneath the lid. This crock is wonderful. I am maybe being to cautious about the details. It is 16& 1/2"s tall and approx. 16"s wide across the top. I also have a#12 and#8 crock listed. Please pay within 3 Days of the Ending Date of Auction. Antique Primitive 10 Gallon Cobalt Blue Bee Sting Salt Glaze Stoneware Crock This is a very large 10-gallon stoneware crock that has been handed down in our Illinois/Indiana family since the 19 th century. The family lore is that it was used to pickle herring. It has a salt glaze exterior with a slip glaze brown interior. The decoration is a large free-hand cobalt blue“bee sting” The design measures 7 ½” long x 5” wide. The crock is 18” in height and 19” with the lid in place. The lid has a 10” diameter. The crock has a pleasing curved line with two ear-like handles. The widest section of the curved line measures 11” in diameter. This large crock holds 10 gallons. The last two pictures show the crock filled with 10 gallons of water. With the lid in place. It weighs a hefty 28 pounds. There is a fine crack that runs from the rim and curves ... moredown 9” to about the mid-point of the crock(see pictures of exterior and interior of the crack) It leeks slightly when filled with water. However, as an antique, it is doubtful that this collector item would be put back into use for pickling herring. You can be creative and use this crock in new ways. I have used it as a coffee table by putting a 30” diameter round glass piece on top of it. Use your imagination. This would be a great piece to own, display, and enjoy. Up for auction is an vintage Robinson Ransbottom 10 gallon crock with the blue crown stamp. It measures 17" x 14-1/2" and has a brown glaze on the inside. Nice Bold Antique 10 Gallon Red Wing Birch Leaf Stoneware Crock No Oval
This is a nice. Bold 10 gallon Red Wing Union Stoneware birch leaf crock with no oval. The markings are 100% visible, no leaf-tips missing. It is in very good condition with two extremely faint hairlines close to the handle on one side(shown close-up in the photos) and a small chip on that handle. The remainder of the crock is free of cracks and chips. The glaze is clean, shiny, and even. The inside surface has some white chalky residue that is common on old crocks. This crock measures 16" H x 15" in diameter and will be packed securely, double boxed, and insured during shipping.
