Nice luster, looks different in every kind of light. Glaze is nicely variegated- study photos to get the feel and look of this relatively heavy piece(for its size) Does not appear to be missing a lid- the way the opening was made, I do not believe this ever had a lid, at least not a ceramic one that would have been incorporated into the clay design when the piece was hand thrown. Looks like this crock could originate from the Catawba Valley Pottery, but just my opinion. Glaze& form reminds me a little bit of Pewabic Pottery pieces, but not iridescent. Not much wear given its age- glaze has rubbed off in a few small spots around the rim(see photo) but no serious chips or cracks. Bottom is unmarked. All sales are final- no returns. Vintage Robinson- Ransbottom Crock Beautiful 8 gallon crock with royal blue crown. Number 8 in the center. Crock measures 17" tall and 13 1/2" in diameter. Bottom is not mark ed. Inside is dark brown. Clean. There are no major cracks or chips. There are some thin cracks in the glaze. Crazing, sc uffs and imperfections. Extremely heavy- weighs 35 pounds. Will be difficult and very expe nsive to ship. But will try, would prefer local pick- up. Please see all pictures for exact design and condition. VINTAGE LARGE BLUE CROWN 8 GALLON CERAMIC STONEWARE PICKLING CROCK Crock measures approx. 16" H x 13.5" in diameter and has a blue crown stamped on the front with an 8(USA) No lid. Minimal cosmetic wear. Overall in fantastic shape with no cracks or breakage. This crock was well cared for as you can see from the pictures. The inside shines beautifully. I took a close-up picture of the pin pricks in the glazing. This is the spot that has the most of them but they are all over the crock and probably a standard thing with crocks this old but I wanted to point it out so there were no surprises. Doesn't take away from the cosmetic look of the crock at all. Well there you have it. Shipping charges are included and I will professionally package this so it arrives to your door undamaged. Vintage Antique Brown 6 8 10 12gal. Gallon Crock Lid RARE Red Wing western ?????
For auction I have an antique brown Crock lid. The lid is almost perfect condition with no cracks but one small chip. Only on the inside. You may see other imperfections but there from the factory. I dont know what pottery company made this lid because I can't find any markings. Possibly a red wing, fort dodge or western. As far as what size it fits i cant tell you for sure im guessing 6 8 10 or 12gal. Best thing to do is measure your crock then look at where I have my tape measure laid out on the lid and see if you get a close match. Long as its close it will most likely work for you. Looks like a manufacturers bubble defect, as it was also on a previously sold one. This piece looks fantastic and is a wonderful addition to any collection! Antique Stoneware Salt Glaze Crock Primitive 9-3/8", 1 Gallon, Ca 1890, Storage
ANTIQUE 1 GALLON SALT GLAZE STONEWARE CROCK This sale is for a nice one gallon salt glaze circa 1880-1890 storage crock. Found in Greene County. Virginia, it measures 9-3/8" tall with a diameter of 5-1/2" at the top and 6-1/8" at the bottom. It features: a nice variable gray salt glaze on the exterior Albany glaze on the interior a 1/2' deep rim potter's finger grooves visible inside The crock has a faint 3-4" hairline that does not show in the photos coming off the top rim and a small chip on the bottom rim. OHIO CIRCA: 1910- 1920 The Ransbottom Brothers Pottery Company was in business in Roseville. Ohio, from before the 1900's to 1920. The mark of the crown as on this pottery was used on their pottery. On November 7. 1919 the Ransbottom brothers filed for a copyright on this crown mark, claiming use since 1910. Since the Ransbottom Brothers Pottery Co. were only in business for 10 years. Antique Blue Ribbon Brand 8 Gallon Stoneware Crock Buckeye Pottery McComb ILL
For you today is a absolutely fabulous Antique Blue Ribbon 8 Gallon Stoneware Crock made by Buckeye Pottery Co of McComb. Ill. It has the blue wood handles with metal supports that are strong and intact. There are no chips and I do not even see any hairline cracks. There are a few bubble holes from manufacturing, one in the back that is way less than 1/8th of an inch and a few that are the size of the tip of a pen or smaller. The Cobalt Blue is bright and the ribbon is nicely done. This is a fine crock that will be admired where ever you put it. You could not ask for a finer crock. Measures 15& 1/2"s tall and 15"s wide across the top. Very Heavy. I also have a#12 and#10 crock listed by Red Wing. Please pay within 3 Days of the Ending Date of Auction. Antique early blue decorated stoneware crock marked 1.5 gallon 6-3/8" tall
An antique blue decorated stoneware crock which is stamped"1-1/2" gallon on the front. There is no maker's mark or stamp. The crock is approximately 6-3/8" tall and 9-7/8" wide across the top. The blue decoration is in a beautiful state of repair with virtually no wear. There is a large chip to the rim right of center on the side. Measuring nearly 2.25" in length. There is also a hairline on the back of the piece, which starts at the rim and extends about 4" downward. There are virtually no other problems- just some discoloration and the typical glaze skips/tiny dings. Please view the images for condition details. Here is a really neat crock that came from an estate sale. It has blue markings on the front which I cannot make out. The lid is the neat part. It has a neat# 8 On top of the brown lid. There is damage under the lid. But not on top. It does have a long crack down the side, I have taken pictures of this. I don't know if it can be used, but it would make one heck of a decorative piece. It is 15 1/2 inches tall and 14 1/2 across the lid. It weighs about 15.6 pounds. This lovely and HUGE 8-gallon crock is marked on the outside with a cobalt blue"crown-8" it measures 16.5 inches tall by 13.5 inches in diameter. two chips(pictured) on the rim. But nothing serious. A very fine 8-inch hairline crack runs from the base up the side(see pic) it's not very visible and common in antique stoneware.but it's there and I want you to see it.so you be the judge. This piece is in very good condition. As far as I can tell there isn't a crack or chip in it and it has the original wooden handles that still work. The metal parts on the handles are rusted over but still strong enough to support the weight of the crock. I am not sure when this piece was made but I assume it's quite old. Bold Antique 8 Gallon Red Wing Birch Leaf Ski Oval Stoneware Crock
This is an antique 8 gallon red wing stoneware crock with crisp. Bold cobalt markings including an 8, two birch leaves, and a ski oval. It looks excellent from the front, but there are some hairlines on the side toward the back(One starts at the top and branches off on the side in a crow's foot and it connects to another crow's foot) There are also a few small flakes on the bottom side edge by some fingerprints in the glaze(not sure if they are factory defects like the fingerprints or chips) The crock measures 15 3/4" H x 13 1/4" W. It will be packed very well, double boxed, and insured during shipping.

Vtg Antique Crock Lid 6 7 8 Gallon Red Wing? 13 3/4" Across Stoneware Pottery
This lid is in nice condition. No cracks or chips that I see on the outside. On the underside of the lip. There is a 1/4" triangle of glaze flaked off. Measures 13 3/4" across. The inner part measures 10 3/4" across. Pictured on a 5 Gal crock(not included) and is too big for it so I'm not sure what size up it is for. Feel free to ask questions. Beautiful antique stoneware lid with a large number eight deeply incised into the top. Weight prior to packaging is a hair over 8 Lbs. This is a fantastic and rare antique 5 gallon salt glazed Red Wing stoneware crock with bold cobalt blue lazy 8 design. It is in very good to excellent condition with only minor flaking on the bottom edge of one of the handles and one crow's foot on the side. Shown close-up in the photos. The remainder of the crock is free of cracks and chips of any kind. The glaze is shiny and even, but there are some areas that are slightly darkened from age(typically found on older salt-glazed crocks. It measures 12 1/4" in diameter x 12 3/4" H and will be packed very well, double boxed, and insured during shipping.

UP for auction is the very nice ANTIQUE REDWING SALT GLAZED 5 GL CROCK. It stands 12 1/2 inches tall. It has a diameter of 11 1/2 inches across the top. It has a 4 inche crack running down the front on the left of the blue. It also has an old chip at the inside lip, and two hairline spider cracks one under the blue and the other to the left side.They do not go thru. It has the reconizable BLUE 5 WITH LAZY 8 AND TARGET WITH TAIL that redwing uses so much of. This is circa 1890 according to Warman's Red Wing Pottery Identification and price guide. Antique 4 Gallon Red Wing Side Stamped Salt Glazed Drop 8 Target Crock
This is a scarce side-stamped 4 gallon Red Wing salt glaze crock with bold cobalt drop 8 and target design. The glaze is clean. Shiny, and even with no chips of flea bites, but unfortunately, there is a large crack that runs down the side toward the back, along the bottom edge for a few inches, then up the side toward the front a few more inches. It branches off into a crow's foot toward the back. The crack has been glued and is not loose in any way. The damage is not obvious from the front and the crock still displays beautifully. It measures 11 3/4" H x 11" W and will be packed securely, double boxed, and insured during shipping.
