Welcome! Up for consideration today is a Vintage 1 Gallon Crock that has some damage. This crock was a basement find as I have been slowly going through my childhood home and clearing items from various places where it has accumulated over the years. This crock along with another one I recently listed were both sitting in the dark in a long forgotten corner- I have cleaned them up and having no use for them(I have my own crocks) I am putting them up. This crock has two hairline cracks that start at the rim and some minor chipping at the bottom- I do not know if this crock would hold liquids as I have not tried it other than to wash it out. Another interesting and unique feature of this crock is the appearance of the glaze on the outside- I would almost hazard to say that it is crazing that occurred when the glaze was put on the crock however ... moremany years ago it was made- What is unique about the crazing is it makes the crock look like it is"shabby chic" Yet it is still very much primitive looking. Vintage 4 PIECE Crock Stoneware SET RARE! LOOK!! 30,25,15,3 gal NO CRACKS/CHIPS
This set is 4 Pieces containing a 30 gallon. 25 gallon, 15 gallon, and 3 gallon. They are all identical and are in excellent condition but are in desperate need of cleaning. The 15 gallon one is etched with the number 15 but does not show the black ink anymore. These are down in my basement and have been there their entire life. The property dates back to the Civil War and supposedly has never left the family. Everyone says these crocks were there longer than them so I have no idea how old they really are but we know back as far as early 1900's but some think they go back even farther than that. They are cream color on the outside and dark brown on the inside. If anyone has any info on these it would be greatly appreciated, in the meantime Happy Bidding!

Ill" The crock and the lid fit together nicely. The metal wire that holds the lid on top works and is intact but it is rusty. There is one chip on this crock and it is located at the bottom back and doesn't detour from the beauty of the crock. The crock is large and weighs a lot. It is 21.5" circumference. 11.25" tall to the top of the lid. 6.25" bottom diameter. Approx. measurements. There are no cracks, breaks, or holes in the crock or lid. This auction is for an old crock. N. Peterson Suuff Mfg. Galesburg Ills. is what it seems to have stenciled in cobalt blue. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. It has a lid. Although I can't be for sure that it originally came with this lid because it doesn't seem to fit all the way into the mouth, but kind of goes half way into the opening and suspends there, but this is the way it was found. This would appear to be a somewhat rare crock, at least to eBay, because I can't find another on here for sale now, nor any that have sold in the last three months. It has a wonderful beehive shape and measures approximately eleven and one-half inches tall, with a four inch diameter mouth opening. It measures about eight and three-quarters inches across the bottom and weighs nearly nine pounds. XLNT Antique Hand Turned 4 Gallon Birch Leaf Ski Oval Stoneware Crock NO CRACKS!
This is an excellent antique Red Wing stoneware crock with crisp bold cobalt blue markings including birch leaves and a ski oval. The glaze is shiny and even and super-clean. There are absolutely no cracks. But there are a few small chips. The one on the back, shown close-up in the photos looks like a small air bubble in the clay that broke open, and there is a chipped spot on the bottom edge and a slightly rough spot on the top edge. It is otherwise near-mint. It was definitely hand-turned and some slight ridges from turning are visible on the inside. The crock measures 11 3/4" H x 11 1/4" in diameter. It will be packed securely, double boxed, and insured during shipping.
