1/2 Gallon Stoneware Crock 5" tall by 7" diameter SMALL FRACTURE,ADDS CHARACTER!
This auction is for a vintage 1/2 gallon stoneware crock. This measures right at 5" tall and has a diameter right at 7"across. This has a fracture in the that start part way down the side and continues half way across the bottom. This is a fracture not a break. I am not sure what the crock was used for, I have cleaned it up, you may want to do more. Most crocks will have a fracture and some blemishes, to me it adds character to these pieces. Very Old Antique Crock Stoneware 1.5-2qt Size Off-white 7.25Wide x 5.5"Tall
This is an antique crock from my grandmother's house. I'd originally used it to keep my spoons/wisks/beaters together on the counter-top. But have since remodeled so it no longer fits my decorating scheme in my kitchen. There are a lot of chips/nickson the lip/rim, and it's scuffed and scraped up.but would still be perfectly functional to use to store things in on the counter, or anywhere else. Better yet add it to your crock collection and enjoy it! I*think* this holds 1.5-2 quarts, but am not sure. It measures 5.5" tall and 7.25" across. The lip is a little thicker than the rest of the crock. All of my antique auctions are packaged carefully and wrapped with bubble wrap/foam. Prior to shipping. This is a nice little heavy hand thrown crock bowl. It measures 3" tall and it 4 1/2" in diameter outside edge to outside edge across the top and 5 1/4" in diameter across the bottom. The sides slant outward toward the bottom of the bowl which make it almost non spill non tip. It has an unglazed top rim and bowl bottom. The pottery material is a beige with little black specks in it and the outside walls and inside walls and bottom are clear glazed. It has no chips. Cracks, or crazing. It has no makers marks. Rare Blue Double Crossed Tulip Design Decorated Crock 1 / 1.5 gallon Somerset NR
Up for auction is a nice antique crock with blue decorated double tulips. Attention Somerset. I believe this design was used by them. In great overall condition. There is a very small nick on the inside bottom rim on one of the handles and one small nick on the interior rim, both are pictured and could be filled. They are not bad at all and not really a damage I would say just mentioning to be as accurate as I can. 1986 Signed "Pennsylvania" Blue & White Decorated Pottery Crock- 6 1/4 x 5 1/2"
This crock is signed with a script signature on the bottom that I can't make out but it is dated 1986. Great grey speckled pottery with a single blue band and the top and what looks like a pumpkin( on the front. Also. At the bottom edge there is a symbol of some kind that may mean something. Excellent shape it measures 6 1/4" across the top and is 5 1/2" tall. Great shape with no chips or cracks. This Piece Has a Dark Brown, Albany Glaze with a Few lighter spots. The Base has a Wiped or smeared look. It is Stamped in small letters near the bottom rim. JEGGLIN, CALHOUN, MO" The Name is a bit light but can be read with light. I believe the initials, G.A. are there but just too light to see, The town, CALHOUN, MO. is easily read. I have seen several pieces from Jegglin, Jugs, Crocks, Storage Jars, etc. but don't believe I have ever seen one this small. The Jar is in Fine condition, Solid with No Cracks, hairlines, etc. There is a small chip on the reverse base edge, fairly shallow. An antique blue decorated stoneware crock which is stamped"1-1/2" gallon on the front. There is no maker's mark or stamp. The crock is approximately 6-3/8" tall and 9-7/8" wide across the top. The blue decoration is in a beautiful state of repair with virtually no wear. There is a large chip to the rim right of center on the side. Measuring nearly 2.25" in length. There is also a hairline on the back of the piece, which starts at the rim and extends about 4" downward. We just purchased part of a huge collection of crocks There are 10 total. Counting the whiskey jug! We have poured water in each one(the first 7 hold 1 gallon) We left water in each of the crocks for 4 hours and didn't see any leaks However we will not guarantee that they won't leak Each one is different and like things made one hundred years ago. A lot of these have imperfections. We happen to like the little dings. Color drops and weird lines, ridges and bumps. Look at all photos as they are a very big part of the description. We have tried to show all chips. Any finish issues and the top edges inside finishes and the bottoms. Most of these crocks could be used in brining with some cheesecloth and a weighted plate. If you have questions. Ask! This crock is a natural clay color with a 2 1/4" dark brown glazed band around the ... moretop edge. This crock is oval on top. Offered here is an antique crock lid. It is yellow spatterware of some make. Perhaps Rockingham? It measures 5 1/4" in diameter and is about 2" high to the top of the knob. I see 2 light hairline cracks on the underside. Otherwise. Except for some small, old chips along the edge, this lid is in very good antique condition. Please see photos. There is a series of raised bird shapes, maybe peacocks, repeated around the top of the lid. This was difficult to photograph, but I hope you can make out the shapes. With a strong brushed blue cobalt exterior décor of Whirling Tornado and interior of dark brown Albany slip glaze even coloration. No signature evident. Lid that fits well is a concentric stepdown pattern with flat top knob and dappled brown inner ring accent; hard to tell if original, but has been together awhile so I will sell as a set, bottom and lid one price. Crock stands 17.5" tall on a 8" diameter base. Not counting lid height when closed. Weighs 7.5 pounds unwrapped. Smoke free home. Western Stoneware 5. 1/2 Gal Crock Planter Insert Dish
Hers a piece I just don't know what it is. It's signed Western Stoneware on the base with a 5. means 1/2 Gallon but thats about the content size of this. This stands approximately 6.5" tall with a top diameter of just under 6" across and base being 4.25" across. There is no chips or knicks but there is crazing to the glaze inside and out and unfortunately a visible 3" hairline crack as seen. Its still strong and holding just fine. But it is there.
