Looks like this crock could originate from the Catawba Valley Pottery, but just my opinion. Glaze& form reminds me a little bit of Pewabic Pottery pieces, but not iridescent. It is 5 3/4" high and 4.75" in diameter. The condition is very good. There is a tiny chip and hairline on the lip, could be in the making. This dark brown vintage/antique glazed stoneware crock has an interesting shape. Different from most. It stands 7” high. Is 5 7/8” across the bottom and 4 1/2” across at the top opening. It is in very good condition. There is one small chip at the base. Almost invisible unless turned upside down. There is an interesting effect on one side where it looks like the glazing was applied unevenly. With some of the stoneware surface still showing through. There is no lid.

SMALL BROWN GLAZED CROCK JAR POTTERY STONEWARE 1860 VIRGINIA WEST INCISED RING
Here is a MOST INTERESTING OLD CROCK from WEST VIRGINIA OR VIRGINIA I THINK. I know that it is old. Probably pre CIVIL WAR around 1860- It has a an INCISED RING down to about the middle that sets it apart from most others of its type. It is small, even diminutive, measuring just 6 1/4 inches in height, 4 inches across the top and 4 1/4 inches across the base. The bare clay on the base indicates that it is REDWARE. Now the GOOD NEWS- It is in MINT- PERFECT CONDITION. I cannot find one thing wrong with it. For the age that is REMARKABLE. You will notice that one of the photos make the pot look like blue. That is where the sun was hitting it, a reflection. The interior shows the EXACT SAME BROWN GLAZE AS THE OUTSIDE DOES. GREAT LITTLE JAR. Buyer pays $8.00 domestic shipping and handling. Antique Vintage 5 Gallon Crock Stoneware 2 Tone Labeled G Fox & Co Glazed Brown
This 5 gallon two-toned crock came from an auction in Vermont. It has a label from the G. Fox& Co. Hartford, Conn, see the 5th picture, on the side. It must have been delivered by the G. Fox& Co. I found out the G stands for Gerson who owned this large department store. It said that they made deliveries by wheelbarrow. The crock measures 13" high and 11 3/8" in diameter. There is a chip on the bottom edge, see the 10th picture. There is a crack that starts on one side where the brown turns to tan and runs down to the middle of the bottom. There are 3 indentations on the bottom edge that must have been made during the manufacturing process because they are glazed over. There are some drips marks, see the 2nd picture. There are also residue marks on the inside.

Medium brown jug. Nice old piece. Made in USA(stamped on the bottom. here is one glaze error on the lip of the crock. No xhips or cracks. Vintage 1920's/1930's or earlier large jug crock. It measures 12" tall and 6 1/2" outside diameter at base. The capacity looks like 1- 1 1/2 gallons. It is a heavy thick wall salt glaze glazed stoneware stone ware pottery jug with a cup style side handle near the top. The crock is in very good condition. It is glazed brown on the top half and tan on the bottom half with great crazing. The exterior bottom is unglazed. There is a remnants of a cork left. The crock displays beautifully and shows normal use wear as pictured. This is a very well made heavy. Thick walled jug. It is sold as is. $18.00 postage. Vintage brown/cream salt glazed Stoneware crock w/original center lift knob lid. Straight sides measures approx. 10.25"h x 9.25"diameter. Holds 2 gallons& weighs 14.25 lbs. I believe the manufacturer was the Monmouth Pottery Co. The crock has the letter"M" the number"2" that appears to be hand decorated in cobalt blue. Crock is well over 100 years old and does not leak. There is some crazing on the lid& signs of normal wear throughout. Overall condition is very good.

Antique Primitive - 1 Gallon Salt Glazed Stoneware Crock Mustard & Brown Color
Amazing old antique primitive 1 gallon salt glazed stoneware crock in a dark mustard color with interior brown glaze. Dug out of an 1800's Ohio farmhouse outbuilding. All but the bottom cleaned up very nicely. I do not see any markings on this piece, there may be a signature on the bottom but I can not read it because if wear and use. Measures 8" tall and 7 1/2" in diameter. Very good condition for age, only one small chip to the bottom from long ago. Really nice one of a kind true primitive piece!
