The Wing ... moreon this crock is much larger and brighter than I have seen on many crocks. Beautiful. The crock itself is very clean and in wonderful condition especially for being almost 100 years old. It is dated by the right handle. Patented, Dec. 21st, 1915. There are 2 cracks on the inside bottom that are about 3/4 of an inch long if that. One, a surface scratch and the other is a bit bigger. There is one turkey track on the back. There are some surface cracks around the crock, nothing serious at all. The Salt Glazed Lid has a light#10 on the top of one of the petals. It has some surface cracks on it, again nothing serious. It also has a few turkey tracks. The crock has one 1/2" chip on the bottom edge and the lid has one chip the same size approx. on the round lip underneath the lid. This crock is wonderful. I am maybe being to cautious about the details. It is 16& 1/2"s tall and approx. 16"s wide across the top. I also have a#12 and#8 crock listed. Please pay within 3 Days of the Ending Date of Auction. If you need more time just let me know. I am very flexible. I prefer payment through paypal, however if you need another method of payment let me know and we will see what we can do for you. Antique New York Stoneware Blue Flower Salt Glazed 4 Gallon Stoneware Crock
Up for auction is an Antique New York Stoneware Deep Blue Flower Design 4 Gallon Crock. The New York Stoneware Co and the number 4 is impressed. The flower design is a very dark cobalt blue. Each side has an applied elephant ear handle. Circa: 1859- 1885. Fort Edward. NY) Measurements: 11 1/4" tall. 11 1/2" in diameter at the top. Base 11" in diameter. Floral decoration is about 5" wide X 6" tall. The blue floral decoration has dots and circles. Condition: This crock is being sold AS IS. This is a solid crock but it has issues. Large Blue decoration has excellent dark cobalt blue color but has a chip at the top branch. Shown in picture 2. There is a large chip at the rim above the ear handle, picture 8. The same ear handle has a chip underneath the handle, shown in the same picture. On the outside, there is a spider ... morehairline that starts on the bottom and runs up the side, see close-up picture in picture 5, 10& 11. I would not trust this crock to hold water. There is one small chip in the dark brown glaze on the inside, last picture. Picture 5 shows a raised dark spot on the outside which appears to be from the manufacturing process. See all pictures. Stoneware was once an almost universal material in American homes. The versatile. Nonporous ceramic made ideal containers of all kinds, including the ubiquitous stoneware crock. Stoneware is made of gray and tan clays fired to a high temperature. As there were few American producers prior to 1800, most existing antique stoneware crocks date from the 19th century. Offering Antique Two Tone Beige and Brown 4 Gallon Stoneware Crock in good antique condition. Measures 11 1/4" tall and 11.5" in diameter. Crock has a very small crack and it can't hold liquid. Antique 4 Gallon Stoneware Crock A. K. Ballard 1850-1870 This Antique 4 Gallon Glazed Crock has an unusual floral decoration in cobalt blue across the front. It is approximately 11 3/4 inches high and is about 11 1/2 inches across in diameter. Stamped at the top with: A. K. Ballard. Burlington, VT. Alfred K. Ballard used this maker's mark between 1867 and 1874. It also has the number 4 stamped on the front, just under the maker's mark, indicating the 4 gallon size. For sale is an Antique Pickle or Kraut Jug 4/5 Gallon with a Wide Mouth. This is a piece of North Carolina Stoneware circa 1900 made for domestic use. The jug is 8" tall and 5.75" in diameter at the base. It is 2.75" at the opening. The jug is in good antique condition with no real chips and only manufacturing flaws and related ageing defects. The jug still holds water. There are markings on the base but they are indistinguishable either from wear or age. Please examine the photos carefully. Offered is this vintage or antique 4-gallon almost-white crock. The crock is marked with a blue"4" inside of a star inside of a circle. It originally had a handle and lid but these are no longer present. The crock measures just over 15" high and is about 9 1/2" wide across the top. It is in very good condition. With no cracks and only a couple of very minor rim chips. There are also a couple of very small areas that look like they were never glazed. As you might imagine this is a very heavy item. Antique Robinson Ransbottom 4 Gallon Blue Crown Stoneware Water Crock w/ Spigot
This is a very nice vintage crock made Robinson-Ransbottom sometime during the mid-1900's. The company initially started producing from The Ransbottom Brothers Pottery in 1900. The pottery shop was the largest stoneware producer in the world at the time and was sold to The Robinson Clay Products Company in 1919. Together as Robinson-Ransbottom they produced stoneware with the blue crown logo. And some marks show“RRP” in the crown. Others have a number inside the crown, which indicates the size of the crock or bowl. This four-gallon crock measures about 11" across and 14" tall. The piece is decorated with royal blue stripes which give it a beautifully rich aesthetic. There is wonderful detail in the glaze, so please view the pictures carefully for paint and condition details. Very very unique misshapen crock I just LOVE this crock! Where are you going to find one like this! It was dried and glazed in this shape. I saw this and instantly knew years ago I had to have it. It has blue drip glazes on the handles! Also over the 4. I just thought it was amazing and different. One side it litterally indents in around the handles. Who left it like that! HA. There is manufactured roughness and a saltglaze drip line. These issues all happened during the making of this crock. There are no other chips. Cracks, and or repairs. Antique Central Pennsylvania? Stoneware Crock Pottery Stone Jar 4 Gallon
Late 1800's salt glazed stoneware crock with cobalt decoration. This crock features cobalt vines as well as several squiggle decorations. There is an impressed 4 gallon capacity mark between the decorations as well as a freehand 4 gallon capacity mark. This crock stands approximately 14.75" in height. Is 9.25" in diameter at the base, and 8.5" in diameter at the rim. This crock has some damage worth noting. There is an approximately 6" crack extending from the rim to the top of the right vining. It appears to have been stabilized with glue. There are 2 large shallow chips to the rim. One above the right ear, and the other slightly behind the right ear. There is a 2.5" in the firing crack next to the one previously described. There is a"y" shaped in the firing crack about 1.5" across between the ... moredecorations. I've described all flaws to the best of my ability, but cannot guarantee or offer refunds on the basis of minor blemishes that may have been overlooked. This crock at some point was broken in several large pieces. someone glued it back together however there are some small pieces that are missing. Nice Antique Vintage Red Wing Union Stoneware 2 Gallon Oval Over 4" Wing Crock
This is a nice antique Red Wing stoneware crock with crisp. Bold markings and 4" wing. There are no cracks and little other damage, most of which looks factory(there are a few dings or burst bubbles on the inside and a few small chunks of clay and glaze missing along bottom edge on the sides next to extra chunks of clay and smudged glaze, shown in photos) The only significant after-market damage I can find is some dark spots of sticky residue on the bottom, shown in the photos. The crock measures about 9 1/2" H x 9 1/2" in diameter. It will be packed very well, double boxed, and insured during shipping. I have another 2 gallon like this one, identical in size, color, markings, etc. and they look fantastic together. The price is a little lower on that one because it has a couple hairlines. This lid is in nice condition. No cracks or chips that I see on the outside. On the underside of the lip. There is a 1/4" triangle of glaze flaked off. Measures 13 3/4" across. The inner part measures 10 3/4" across. Pictured on a 5 Gal crock(not included) and is too big for it so I'm not sure what size up it is for. Feel free to ask questions. BOLD Antique Primitive 4 Gallon Salt Glazed Crock Cobalt Flower Decoration
This is an original antique 4 gallon salt glazed crock with beautiful BOLD cobalt blue flower design on the front that wraps around to the handles on the sides. The glaze is smooth. Shiny, and even and the crock is sturdy and solid overall, but there is some damage. There is a chip on the top inner rim, a hairline that runs halfway down the side from the rim, and splits into a short crow's foot, and some chips on the bottom edges of the handles. There is another very faint hairline on the other side that is difficult to see. The surface has some flea bites, shown in the photos. Regardless, it looks fantastic and would display nicely. It measures about 11" across x 12" H and will be packed very well, double boxed, and insured during shipping.

This is an Antique Blue Slip Wreath 4 gallon Stoneware Butter Churn or Crock. It is 16"h x 9 1/2"w. There is a wooden pole and beater which has broken off of the pole and needs to be repaired. It also has a wooden top with a hole for the beater to go through. There is a chip on the bottom edge around the back. It has overall discoloring from the firing. Otherwise it is very solid with no cracks.

This is an antique Ruckels 4 gallon stoneware crock recently acquired at an estate sale.A.D.Ruckels began making stoneware in 1870 in White Hall.Greene County,Illinois.The Greene County clay was of such quality and quantity that numerous potteries located in White Hall.At its peak Ruckels was shipping about 300 railroad cars of pottery per year.This 4 gallon crock shows wear consistent with age and use.Besides normal crazing of the glaze,there are some chips on the top rim and the base, and a crack about 6" long running horizontally near the base( please see the photos for a better description)I think these could be repaired by an experienced potter.It stands 12 1/2" tall and is 12 1/4" in diameter.It is marked in cobalt blue with a number 4 and"Ruckels Stoneware"It could be a good decorative piece for a rustic decor,addition ... moreto a collection,or repaired for actual use.It will be carefully packaged for safe shipping and will be insured.Thank you for looking. XLNT Antique Hand Turned 4 Gallon Birch Leaf Ski Oval Stoneware Crock NO CRACKS!
This is an excellent antique Red Wing stoneware crock with crisp bold cobalt blue markings including birch leaves and a ski oval. The glaze is shiny and even and super-clean. There are absolutely no cracks. But there are a few small chips. The one on the back, shown close-up in the photos looks like a small air bubble in the clay that broke open, and there is a chipped spot on the bottom edge and a slightly rough spot on the top edge. It is otherwise near-mint. It was definitely hand-turned and some slight ridges from turning are visible on the inside. The crock measures 11 3/4" H x 11 1/4" in diameter. Antique 5 Gallon Crock-Bail Handles-Red Wing Union Stoneware Co Pat 1915 4" Wing
This is a 5 gallon Red Wing Union Stoneware Co. Crock with original handles and 4" Wing. Overall very good condition. The photo shows the chipped blemish at the bottom edge of the crock which looks worse than it is because it's a very shallow chip. The crock handle near the patent date there appears to be a crack however it is not. It looks like that area was filled in a bit more than normal causing overlapping. Otherwise there are a couple areas that have slight surface fractures. Again, overall very nice crock. I offer very safe shipping.

Antique 4 Gallon Red Wing Side Stamped Salt Glazed Drop 8 Target Crock
This is a scarce side-stamped 4 gallon Red Wing salt glaze crock with bold cobalt drop 8 and target design. The glaze is clean. Shiny, and even with no chips of flea bites, but unfortunately, there is a large crack that runs down the side toward the back, along the bottom edge for a few inches, then up the side toward the front a few more inches. It branches off into a crow's foot toward the back. The crack has been glued and is not loose in any way. The damage is not obvious from the front and the crock still displays beautifully. It measures 11 3/4" H x 11" W and will be packed securely, double boxed, and insured during shipping.
