2 gal Louisville Stoneware Crock Indian Chief Stars
I am selling this Indian Chief Stars Crock that i got from my GrandMother. I believe it was made by Louisville Pottery Company/ Louisville Stoneware. She lived in Louisville. Ky. It has a number 2 on the bottom of the crock. I think this is indicating that the size is 2 gallons. I know it is more than 2 quarts. The pictures show the measurements and condition which I think are good for its age and use. Also It looks to me like it is made out of clay. Also it weighs about 10 lbs.

AAFA - Small 19th c. Butter Crock w/Cover, Cobalt Blue Swags, 1/2 Gal.
Found in New England is this great looking. Slightly tapered 1/2 gal. salt-glazed stoneware cake crock with 7 repeating dark cobalt blue swags. The dark tan glaze is still glossy and completely covers the bottom as well as the sides. There is a decorative incised line 1-1/2" down from the top that goes completely around the crock. The interior is a rich brown albany slip. Included with the crock is a very nicely fitting lid, although I'm not sure if it is original to the crock. The crock stands only 4-3/4" high with an 11/16" lip x 7-3/8" wide at the top, and 7-3/4" wide at the bottom. The condition is excellent and solid, although there is a professionally filled hairline that can be seen in the last photo. There are also a few old surface chips on the top of the lid. This is a lovely Antique Early 20th Century 2-Gallon CROWN“Cobalt Blue” Banded in Mint Condition. The crock has no lid or spigot. The crock is clearly marked with the CROWN logo and 2 Gallon size number in the same Cobalt Blue as the band at its center. The Crock is in Mint Condition with no breaks. Chips, cracks or crazing- not even a hairline or nick. It is absolutely pristine. I have never seen another crock with this many decorative“Cobalt Blue” bands. There are 6 of them encircling the crock, each 1/2” wide, 1 at the top, 1 at the bottom and 2 sets 2 on each side of the center. The crock measures 7-1/2” across the top, curving outward to 9” across its bulbous center and narrowing to 8” across the base and stands 11-3/4” high. The stoneware is 1/2” thick. Up for your consideration is this rare double stamped antique Love Field Potteries stoneware 2 gallon crock. Complete with the original lid. This crock was mistakenly double stamp in manufacturing and could very possibly be the only one of its kind? Cracks or hairlines, just the normal small surface flaws from the firing like bubbles and a small flake here and there and such but I'm being picky here, it's in great condition. There is a visible hairline crack, not sure if there are more. Some small chips on rim- see photos. I tested it for water tightness, filling it to the top with water and letting it sit overnight. Vintage 2 gal.stone ware crock / jug with brass faucet ICE WATER
Estate sale find. 2 gallon stone ware ICE WATER crock. This was very dirty when found. I took the faucet out and thoroughly washed it with dish detergent. It came out beautiful. I believe the original washers were leather and sealed with pine pitch. That is gone(outside original washer included) I put a rubber bushing and two new hose washers on but is not water tight. The glazing on the inside is a little rough and only hand tighten the faucet on.It leaked. The faucet holds but the glazing is too rough. Aquarium sealant or pine pitch would fix that. The bottom looks cracked but no cracks appear on the inside. No maker marks. Could be a factory second. See pictures and ask questions. I"ve been a picker for over 50 years.

A 19th century blue decorated two gallon open stoneware crock by Hamilton& Jones. Greensboro, PA. It measures just shy of 12.5" tall and the top is about 7.25" across. Not a hairline to be found anywhere, only some rim chips- the largest measuring just over half an inch in length, just right of center on the top rim. Two more which are very tiny- both toward the back on the inner rim, less than a quarter inch each. There is wear to the blue decoration, but the stenciling is plenty legible. There is also some yellowish staining on either side of the crock. Other minor imperfections such as tiny dings and glaze skips, of which we are unsure whether they occurred in manufacturing. We are listing for your consideration a lovely Antique 19th Century Stoneware Saltglazed Cobalt Blue Floral Decorated N. Clark& Co. Rochester New York 2 Gallon Crock. This crock is in Excellent Condition with 1 slight tight hairline that extends from the top rim to above the one handle. It does extend to the inside of the crock, it is guaranteed 100% secure, the crock rings true when you tap it. Below the same handle there is a x shaped spider line that is below the glaze, you cannot feel it when you run your fingernail over it, it does not extend to the inside. There are 2 slight shallow chips on the base, some minor nicks to the inside lower rim, and 2 areas of fry on the decoration. There are no other chips, cracks, and or repairs. We guarantee 100% you will be more than happy with the excellent condition. We are pleased to offer without reserve this great old incised J& E Norton. Bennington, Vermont crock. There is a large incised 2 under the maker’s mark indicating that it is a two gallon piece. The cobalt image looks to us like the very desirable and hard to find“Peacock in a Tree” design made by the Nortons. It is very well done with a lot of detail on the bird and the tree branch. There are no chips or cracks on this crock. But there are a couple flakes. One is on the wing of the bird and a very small one is on the breast. The inside of the pot is glazed. The outside is very mottled. And not being experts in stoneware we don’t know why. It is. However, a very stunning piece and we think that you will be pleased with it. Up for your consideration is this outstanding 2 gallon cobalt blue sawtooth jar with lid from Ruckels in White Hall. Illinois. It is as close to mint as you can find. Other than a very small chip at base shown in photo it is just the way it left the factory. Check out the various shades of beautiful cobalt blue that vary throughout the vessel. It has what appear to be nail impressions throughout the jar adding more character-as if it needed it. The bottom of the jar could not be any nicer than this-just like brand new. It also has the blue lid to go with it. It has a few typical glaze pops found in stoneware but once again in excellent condition. Some of you have seen it at swap meets and know what I mean. This is a guaranteed 1870's Brown Slip Style Glaze 1 1/2 Gallon Crock. The crock is perfect with no cracks and no chips. Unusual markings on the top of the lip reading'1 1/2' Not seen too often! I AM SELLING THIS CROCK FOR MY SISTER IN LAW. SHE RECEIVED IT AS A GIFT FROM HER EX HUSBANDS'S GRANDMOTHER. SHE MADE MANY PICKLES IN THIS CROCK. IT CAME OUT OF CAROLINE COUNTY IN VA. MY SISTER IN LAW HAD IT IN HER KITCHEN WHEN SHE LIVED IN AUGUSTA COUNTY. IT WAS A COUNTRY HOME THAT WAS USED AS A HOSPITAL DURING THE CIVIL WAR. NOW SHE AND MY BROTHER HAVE RETIRED TO FLORIDA AND SHE IS DOWN SIZING. IT IS A BEAUTIFUL GRAY WITH COBALT BLUE FLOWERS ON IT. TWO HANDLES. BOTH HIGHLIGHTED WITH BLUE. Western PA "Williams & Reppert" 2 gal. Blue Decorated Crock from Greensboro, PA
This is a great 2 gallon crock by WILLIAMS& REPPERT" It was manufactured somewhere between 1880 and 1884 when W. T. Williams and T. F. Reppert were partners. Very nice cobalt blue color on a light gray crock. No cracks and no repairs. There are two indentations in the surface just under the number"2" see close-up picture) The left hand one has blue down into it so I believe that was created before the crock was decorated. The right indentation appears to be a chip which extends into the blue line across the bottom. A little bit of extra decoration on this beauty with the squiggly line above"Williams and Reppert" This crock is 11 1/2" tall and 8" in diameter. This is a very nice 1 gallon straight sided crock. It reads"Williams& Reppert. Greensboro, PA, It was manufactured somewhere between 1880 and 1884 which are the years that Williams& Reppert were partners. Good cobalt blue with the"1 1/2" set off to the side of the main stencil. There is one stone pop on the outside of the top rim(see picture) No other issues that I am aware of. This crock is almost 8" tall and 8 1/2" in diameter. EXCELLENT! Western PA "T. F. Reppert" 2 gal. Crock from Greensboro, PA with Bird
This is an excellent 2 gallon crock by"T. F. REPPERT" The stencil reads"T. F. Reppert Greensboro. PA" with a pretty bird sitting on a branch nestled into the center of the stencil. It was manufactured somewhere after 1884 when Reppert bought out his partner Williams. Strong cobalt blue color on a light gray crock- beautiful! No chips, cracks, or repairs. The only thing I can find is what I call a"stone pop" on the side of this piece(see close-up picture) That's it! This one is very close to perfection! This crock is 10" tall by 9" in diameter. This is a gorgeous 1 1/2 gallon crock by"WILLIAMS& REPPERT" The cobalt color is very strong and the crock condition is excellent. The large bold block letters in the stencil are not normal and make this a somewhat unique. Hard to find crock! The stencil reads"Williams& Reppert Greensboro, PA" It was manufactured somewhere between 1880 and 1884 when Reppert and Williams were partners in the stoneware business. No chips, cracks, or repairs. Pretty much perfection except for a"crease" in the top rim of rock(see close-up picture) If you can live with that you will have a great addition to your collection.
