This is a very nice pottery clay country bowl. There are no chips breaks on this piece. Some use wear. But a really good antique piece. The painted sunflowers are likely a later addition. Wire bale handle with turned wood painted sage or avocado green. Some chipping to the paint and crazing on the glaze. Antique Primitive Salt Glazed Crock Dark Clay Redware? Stoneware
This is an Antique crock in good condition. Good primitive condition and glaze. The base clay is a dark color, perhaps Redware, but I'm no expert. The biggest issue with this piece is some unusual stones and lack thereof on the bottom. The chips on the bottom appear to be pre-firing clay loss. See photos for yourself. This weighs over 6 pounds. So I will pack it very well, and apoligize for the shipping cost. Crock measures 7-1/4" high x 9-3/8" diameter at top and 6" diameter at base. Please look at the pictures carefully. Wire Snap shut sealable small kitchen storage crock earthenware clay pottery
This is a small sealable kitchen crock. It is only about 3 3/4" tall(about 5 1/4" with lid and wire) And about 3 1/4" wide. If you make your own cheese or butter, this would be a great item. It is like those old crocks, made out of what I think is clay, and has a grayish color finish or glaze on it. On the front is an ivy growing out of a pot. The gasket is still in good shape, wire has no rust on it, and still snaps the lid down tight with no problems. There are a couple of small chips on the inside of the lid on the bottom, please see photos for detail. No chips or cracks that I can tell on bottom or on topside of lid that I can see. Vintage Clay Crock - Hand Made - With Lid
This is a Hand made Vintage Crock/ Cookie Jar with Lid. According to the estate I am selling for. They believe to have picked up this piece in the 1950's in Europe. It is approximately 8" tall and 7.5" diameter. A few of the pictures show the flaws from being hand made. There is a flaw on the bottom as well. Closer evaluation will also show that this piece is not perfectly circular either. The outside bottom of this piece is unglazed. Rare Early Primitive 2 Gallon Red Clay Salt Glazed Crock w/ Cobalt Flowers
This is a fantastic rare early salt glazed crock with thick. Bold, cobalt blue markings. It would be a beautiful display piece with absolutely no chips and no cracks visible from the front, although there are some hairlines along the sides and back that I will detail below. There are two crows feet hairlines(one on each side, close to the handles) and three straight hairlines along the back(one coming up from the bottom edge that also spreads a couple inches into the bottom, and two coming down from the top edge) All damage is visible in the photos. It looks fantastic from the front. There are two molded handles on the sides and the inside is glazed brown. It will be packed very well, double boxed, and insured during shipping.

Vintage Clay Stoneware Pottery Crock w/lid
Here I have a vintage clay Stoneware pottery crock or bowl w/lid. It is 5" tall and a little over 6" with the lid. 8 to 8 1/2" wide from handle to handle. Almost 4 1/2" deep and weighs a little over 3 lbs. It is in very good condition for it's age although I'm not sure just how old it is. It does have a small chip on the edge of the lid(pictured) One or two small imperfections but nothing major, probable the way it was made. No cracks and no repairs it's a very nice old piece. I did find another one just like it and in their description they say it was made in the USA but I'm not sure so I can't say for sure it was. Thank you. This week I am offering a few pieces from my personal antique collection. This auction is for a piece that is very hard to part with- a beautiful early 1850s crock that utilizes perth-amboy clay to mold a lovely lug-handled piece complemented by an albany slip interior and finished with a cobalt blue flower. This crock was crafted by the Asa E. Smith and Sons Pottery and is stamped A.E. Smith& Sons. Manufacturers, 38 Peck Slip, N.Y. A.ccording to the Connecticut Historical Society. In 1812. A. E. Smith(1798-1880) was apprenticed to his uncle, Absalom Day. Smith was in partnership with Noah Selleck, as Selleck& Smith, from 1837 to 1843. The business was continued briefly under the name Smith& Day(1843 to before 1848) For a time Smith worked alone, but in 1848, his son Theodore Smith, who had managed the firm's New York store ... moreat 38 Peck Slip, became a partner in A. E. Smith& Son. Still later, Smith's sons Asa and Howard Hobart joined the firm as A. E. Smith& Sons(about 1850 to 1860) Even though the actual pottery was located in Norwalk. Connecticut, all the finished pieces were warehoused at 38 Peck Slip in New York. before being shipped across the country to various purchasers. Still. Norwalk Ct considers this pottery a particularly important segment in the city's history. I. Personally, have held onto the crock through the years because it has been a family treasure. However. Life, and medical costs, now require that I find a good home for this crock, where it will be cherished and enjoyed for the important slice of history it represents. Dimensions: The crock is approximately 14.75 inches high and 9.5 inches across the bottom. This is a rare 19th century 5 gallon salt glazed crock with cobalt blue leaf design. Possibly Red Wing. The markings are bold and the glaze is shiny and even. There are a few small chips along the inside of the top edge, one on the bottom of one of the handles, and a tiny one on the back of the bottom edge. There is a hairline that runs down one side next to a small crow's foot. None of the damage is visible from the front, and it still looks fantastic. It would make an excellent display piece! It will be packed well, double boxed, and insured during shipping.

Crock Antique Vintage Cobalt Blue Mark Clay character Stoneware CLAY HANDLES NR!
This is a older STONEWARE CROCK. I am estimating it to be about a 3 gallon. Or a little less. It has NO MAKERS MARK, but looks like REDWING. It is slightly deformed from firing and has some discoloration also. From firing. The emblem on the front looks to be a cobalt blue in color. There is a crack, near the emblem. Please review the photos. There is a chip on the lip, on the inside. I would ESTIMATE my best guess to be 1890's to 1920's by design, and style. It looks as if it was made in a time of very high demand, as you can see the dark marks where other crocks were and where there was more heat, and it also appears as if it was tight in the kiln. There is a little deformity and it is not perfectly round. There are also clay handles on both sides. Very nice older piece from my collection. Please review the photos. Antique Robinson Clay Products Blue Stoneware Rice Barrel Crock or Canister. Measures 8 1/2" tall to the top of the lid. The base measures 6 3/4" tall X 5 1/2" rim diam. Unmarked. This was made by Robinson Clay Products(pre Robinson Ransbottom or RRP) in Ohio. Stoneware clay with a pale blue grey glaze. Molded decoration designed to look like a old oak barrel with wood grain and faux metal bands. Around the center of the canister is a stippled background with a leafy pattern and an embossed plaque with the word Rice in Cobalt Blue. The lid also has a stippled and leafy pattern with a round knob. The base is in Excellent Clean Condition with No chips, cracks, crazing or stains. This is a vintage old stoneware tall butter or salt jar with a white glaze. The bottom is not signed or marked who made it. But all indicates it is RED WING. This jar is a common old antique used to store many different items in the cupboards in the 1800s and early 1900s. In the kitchens now they are used mostly to put utinsel in on the cupboards for display. This old jar is 5 3/4 inches in diameter and is 4 1/2 inches tall. The weight is 2 lbs 3oz. This is a fantastic early salt glazed red clay 1/2 gallon stoneware jar with rich. Dark aged appearance and cobalt blue decoration on one side, in excellent condition. There are absolutely no chips or cracks, but there is some very light flaking around the inside of the rim, shown in the photos. The flakes are tiny and barely noticeable. I am not familiar with the maker. It measures about 5" in diameter by 8 1/4" H and will be packed very well and insured during shipping. Vintage dark brown clay crock
This is an old vintage crock which has no makers mark on the bottom or sides. It is 6" tall by 5 9/16" with an inside diameter of 4 3/4" There are some firing pit marks on the sides and some other marks. I did not try to clean it. Please pay with Paypal. antique OLD STONEWARE CLAY CROCK painted TOLE FOLKART SUNFLOWER or DAISY bale handle. This is a great old primitive crock. Purchased at an antique auction in Lancaster PA. Earthy clay piece which is handpainted with sunflowers and sage green trim along mouth. Measures approx 5.75" high with a base of 4 5/8" across, and mouth opening"hole part" of 2.75" There is no lid. We believe this to be from the 1800s. The painted sunflowers are likely a later addition. Wire bale handle with turned wood painted sage or avocado green. Some chipping to the paint and crazing on the glaze. I see 2 hairline cracks which I can't feel as they are under the glaze. Beautiful primitive piece would be a great planter. Kitchen utensil holder, etc. Pennsylvania residents to pay 6% sales tax. Our items are mostly 100 years old or so. We have poured water in each one(the first 7 hold 1 gallon) We left water in each of the crocks for 4 hours and didn't see any leaks However we will not guarantee that they won't leak Each one is different and like things made one hundred years ago. Vintage Perfection Butter Crock Clay or Pottery
Nice old crock that someone truly loved and used. Hard to come by these advertising crocks anymore. This one isn't really bad for the age and plus of it being an advertising one. There are a couple of small and light stress cracks I guess is what you call them. Nothing major. It is to be expected for the age of the piece. The lid is pretty good with a little chuck of the clay out. But, nothing so major. Look at all pictures please and you will see the faults which aren't terribly discouraging for such an old item. Where my finger is, there is a clay swirl or something, but, it is not a crack. Marked as shown in the pictures. Weighs 5 lbs. unwrapped. Stands 7" x 6-1/2" wide x 19-1/4" round approx.
