THE TOP EDGE AND THE LID ARE NOTT AS SHINY- THE UNDERSIDE OF THE LID APPEARS TO BE PARTIALLY GLAZED. THE LID HAS A COUPLE OF SMALL CHIPS ON THE EDGE. This is a very cool item. A double handled glazed Scrock that might be called a"bean pot" This was definitely not a mass produced item. I estimate it as circa 1900. Description of Condition: See photos above. Excellent used condition. There is NO lid. No chips or cracks. As shown in photo# 6. There are some small defects in the glaze near the bottom rim, on the side OPPOSITE the one that has the number"3" on it. They are not visible when the pot is displayed to show the number"3" These defects appear to me to be original production flaws, not any acquired damage. The upper rim and the base are not glazed. There are no markings that would identify the maker of this crock. Approximate measurements: Height is 6.25 inches. Base has 7 inch diameter. Mouth diameter is 6.25 inches. Offered for auction is a wonderful antique bean pot. This heavy stoneware crock bean pot has a single handle on one side and the original lid. The bean pot is in very good condition with no chips or cracks including the lid. It shows crazing due to the age. It measures 6 inches tall to the top of the finial on the lid and 7 ½ inches across to the end of the handle. The crock itself is 5 ½ inches tall and 5 ¼ inches in diameter. There is no mark but most likely made by RRP Ransbottom of Roseville Ohio. This wonderful antique bean pot is a great addition to your antique stoneware and primitive kitchen. Thanks for your bid! Brown Glazed Redware Crock Lid. Bean Pot or Butter Crock Very Good Original Condition This crock lid has an outside diameter of 6 inches. The outside diameter of the lip is 4 ½ inches. It would be a perfect fit for a crock with an opening of 4 5/8 inches. It dates to the latter part of the 19 th century. It was fired from soft red brown clay not quite the color of traditional redware but of the same consistency. I’m selling it because I don’t have a crock that it will fit. I’ll probably find one tomorrow and regret selling it. If you have the right crock here’s your chance to get a lid. It stands about 1 ¼ inches high and is in good condition. In good condition for age, intact rim w no chips, normal amount of crazing, one exterior I would call a 3" vertical hairline but I can't see it on the inside. Think you could still bake in this but really I would want to keep it like it& try to repurpose. Fantastic storage crock. Really like the short, squat shape. Lid may or may not have been original, it barely fits& has some chips& someone has wired it to the jug(couldn't find my wire cutters) Really nice looking glaze, not drippy but more iridescent.

Vintage Antique Brown Stoneware Crock Bean Pot Stamped Blue Crown 2 on Bottom
Nice old stoneware crock in a glossy dark brown glaze. Stamped on bottom with Crown logo and"2" in blue(or greenish blue) ink. One handle and a lid. Lid may not be original to the piece(I got this at an estate auction) As it is a much lighter color glaze, more like a caramel. Lid also has a large chip. Looks like it might hold 2 quarts. This piece measures approx. 5.5" tall and 5" in diameter across the base, giving it a full, rounded shape. There are some bare spots, running, and bumps in the glaze that appear to be original to manufacture. Otherwise, no major chips, cracks, fractures, crazing, or other damage.
