But could be mold chips. They look like they've been there for awhile. There is three areas where the glazing is rough, one on the top that resembles a hole, two more on the bottom, all are just flaws in the glazing. The top edge of the crock iis unglazed. This lid is unmarked. As can be seen in the pics it does have a piece missing. Other than that it is very good condition. The lid measures approx. 12 inches from rim to rim. The inside underneath rim measures 9 inches. The missing piece at the widest part is 2 inches and at the smallest is about 3/4 inch. It appears to be a red clay. And is very heavy. Unmarked Brown Donaghho Crock with Finger Prints
Really neat unmarked small Donaghho crock in brown similar to the tophat shapes. Has the characteristic Donaghho slash in the rim. Have only seen this slash on Donaghho made pieces. Even the ones he made for other merchants( ie EB Taylor, etc. Condition is great with no cracks, or hairlines. A few tiny glaze nicks is all I see. The neatest part is you can see the finger prints of where it was dipped in the glaze by hand. Who said brown crocks can't be special! Antique stoneware crock with crackle glaze and rusted wire band at the base of the lip. The crock is in good condition but there are three vertical cracks that are visible from the inside and outside of the crock. Antique Good Old Solid Crock 1 1/2 to 2 Gallons Lid Cracked & Chipped Unmarked
Here for auction is a very old crock. It was my grandmothers. It is about 1 1/2 to 2 gallons. The crock is not marked. It does have some dark discoloration on the outside. A crack line you can see in 1 of the photos, but it does not go all the way thru. As you can see the top of the crock is not chipped or rough. The lid is very chipped, has a badly repaired crack too. It had a old dish cloth sewn around the lid and top of the button. This was thrown away cause it was dirty and deteriated. This weighs almost 5 and 1/2 pounds itself. Up for auction is a Very NICE Crock. Vintage/Antique Type Stoneware, Salt Glaze, Blue Flower on Front, Unmarked, Prim 7.5" x 7.5" NICE! This is a Stoneware/Salt Glaze Crock that has a Blue Flower Design on Front. I believe this dates to 1930s- 1940s, but it is in such great shape, I am a little doubtful. It has one very small chip on rim shown on 2nd to last photo& very hard to photograph. It has a great shine to it still, little pitting, even bottom is in great shape. Please look at Pics and use your own judgement on age or if it is a reproduction or not.
