Comes witha Westinghouse motor. Measures about 16" wide x 9" tall. I do not have the case or anything else with it. Unit has some rust and stains on the chrome. Cast iron and decals are in okay condition. I cleaned it up a little but it's still a bit dirty. I plugged it in and the motor is sort of loud. for sale is one Wilcox Gibbs sewing machine. I do not see a model# on this machine but it has pat. dates from 1882 to 1894. so I would guess it was made some time after 1894. it is black has gold color flora leaf pattern on it. the color of the gold has faded over time. it is belt drive machine this machine turns and moves as it should. foot lever will stick and not lower some times it does have a needle in it not sure of the size or age. this was considered a light weight transport model of the time. it is in over all good condition for it age has wing screw on bottom for mounting to stand. any question please ask thanks for looking

This machine is dated by its serial number(A330113) to have been produced around 1883 or could be as early as 1871 by its last patent date. This antique is in great condition with normal wear for its age. Could easily be restored to prestine condition or enjoy it as it is. It has a large amount of accessories. Operational drawers, even the original key for the coffin top/ drawers. The ornate solid base is in rare perfect condition, no cracks or broken off pieces. This is a very vintage WILLCOX& GIBBS sewing machine. I would date it around the early 1900s. It is serial#A668410. Machine appears to be working and has most of the original parts. Only thing I see missing is the spool pin. Even has the original cloth guide on the cloth plate. Does show lots of age. If you are a new machine collector. This is a great place to start. Antique Vintage Willcox Gibbs 1880s modified electric chain stitch
Antique Willcox and Gibbs Sewing Machine Based on the Serial# A 373794 on the machine head and taking into consideration the two known methods to determine the age of Willcox and Gibbs early sewing machines. I can make an assumption that this machine has been manufactured in between 1882 to 1885. 1. From 373794 subtract 279638 = 94156 divide it by 17500= 5.38 T ake first digit(5)and add it to 1877 = 1882. 2. 638433/ 8000 = 46.7.Then add 1838 = 1885. The average of these 2 methods is 1883 or 1884. At some point later in its life. The machine was electrified. The electric modification is not typical of other Willcox and Gibbs sewing machines listed on ebay. Most have the electric motor going straight onto the flywheel to drive the machine. This one has a smaller electric motor with a pair of rubber wheels that when adjusted properly will turn ... morethe flywheel. I could not find any other Willcox and Gibbs with this design. The motor powers up and the light works. The rubber drive wheels on the motor need adjustment to drive the flywheel. The flywheel does turn smoothly and the needle moves up and down. The machine also has a knee pedal versus a foot pedal. The machine comes in a faux wooden grain case which the paper is peeling off and the closures have some rust. The case also has a musty smell(I'm guessing it was stored in a basement) If you have any questions please ask. I'm not a sewing machine expert. But I'll try my best to answer. Original Rare Vintage Willcox & Gibbs Collector Sewing Machine
You are looking at an antique WILLCOX& GIBBS SEWING MACHINE with two pedals. I am not an expert in these machines but it appears to be fully functional and I have plugged this machine to find the motor runs smooth and quiet. The pedals are Willcox and Gibbs as well but there is a late one and a smaller one. They are both included as is the two wood panels that may have been part of a box or stand. I did not spend any time cleaning the machine but the chrome is beautiful and the gold details are in excellent condition. Though the black paint has various chips. The machine weight is about 50 lbs. so the shipping cost will be about $30. I can take more photos if requested.
