But I didn't sew anything with it. It will need a cleaning and tune up since it's been in storage for years. Don't know much about it other than what Singer said when called about finding the model and year. They said it was more than likely in a table. And fitted with a motor afterward. There is no manual or accessories with it. The bullet style bobbin is in the bobbin case. Imperial Universal Motor is the manufacturer of the motor. The decals are the Victorian decal set. There is wear on them. As seen in the pictures. The paint is in good shape with only pin scratches. No rust. The carrying case seems to be a generic one. 1894 Singer Model 28 Hand Crank Sewing Machine
This machine came out of my Father's Singer sewing shop. I know little to nothing about sewing machines or sewing so it is being sold as-is. I have turned the crank and it moves freely and the needle bar moves smoothly. When I got it it had a test sewn piece of fabric in it so it is my belief that it will sew. Comes with it's original wood coffin case. See pictures for condition. It is not perfect but it is also not trash. It is just a well used machine that is over 100 years old. Thanks for looking.

The paint and decals have some issues but over all this is a very nice machine. It had the case I am selling on ebay right now around it. But whats weird to me and I can not find a match to what it looked like with the motor on it is that it had what I believe to be a after market singer motor on it with a metal singer foot pedal. Which I will posting soon. I think and could be wrong that this was a hand crank or maybe treadle machine before the owner added the motor. Anyway it is now what is is a Singer 28 that works quite well. The simplest mechanism i have seen on a singer. I am gonna start it low and will let the experts decide at this point. Another beautiful restoration! For auction is a fully restored antique Singer Model 28. Details: made in 1908*rectangular base(this was fairly new; most were fiddle-base) is 3/4 size of her larger full-size sisters*serial no. V561.021*has original boat shuttle and one bobbin included*restored original wood bottom base is included*uses a common flat side shank 15x1 needle*decals are referred to as"Victorian. but I refer to this decal style as"the Jones" because of its striking similarity to the Jones' company family machine that appeared at the same time About this machine: the wood base was in pieces. It has been reglued and reinforced and is now solid and strong. All of the wood has been sanded, stained and varnished- even the handcrank handle and inside of the base compartment. The slide cover just rests on the compartment. ... moreThere is no latch. This machine was used and it shows. The base has some black paint loss and"pin strike loss" on the arm. These machines are beautiful to us but were utilitarian to the people who used them, and this shows. There is no rust on moving parts. All parts have been burnished, cleaned, oiled and reassembled- tiny parts on the thread tension assembly and all. The timing on this machine is superb. The slide plates are original. I felt they should stay this way, so instead of replacing them I polished off the rust and repainted them. They need a push to open but this is better than sliding off to become lost. This is a smooth-turning, well-sewing machine. Treat her right and she will literally last forever. I'm looking for someone to enjoy her as much as I enjoyed restoring her. RARE 1901 Singer Model 28 Hand Crank Sewing Machine Serviced RUNS GREAT!
Here I have a beautiful. 1901 Singer model 28 hand crank sewing machine. It is complete(except for the top of the case) and it runs great! The crank is the original 1901 crank. It seems to have a slight bend to it(see overhead pic) I do not know if this is normal or not, but it cranks just fine. I am new to sewing machines. But I recently purchased this and just need something different. It was completely serviced and oiled by the person I bought it from. It seems to run great and sew smoothly. Sewed a clean stitched line with ease. It is currently set up with the bobbin installed, threaded, etc. I will ship this way. I am assuming the base is original but I do not know for sure. Vintage 1917 Hand Crank Singer Sewing Machine- Model 28. W/Wood Locking Case For being nearly 100 years old this sewing machine is in excellent used working condition. Made in 1917 by the Singer Sewing machine in Elizabeth. New Jersey. This portable machine has a locking wooden box that really works and is in excellent used condition. The lock is a little hard to lock and unlock. May be a little striped. No real damage or marks as far as I can see. A couple of areas on the cover show the natural wood grain and is raised a bit. Crank works smooth and needle moves up and down. I didn't try to sew anything, but I am sure it works fine. No damage to machine just some very minor scratches.
