1920s Singer Model 20 Childs Mini Sewing Machine- All Original, Works Well
Offered here is a 1920s cast iron child's mini sewing machine. Model 20 by Singer. It is in working condition. With original parts. There is a needle installed. And there is no fabric guide. The mechanism runs smoothly. There is some minor paint loss of the black enamel here and there(see pics) The gold lettering and Singer logo are 99% + all there. The chrome and metal pieces look like they can be shined up with proper cleaning and the plate shows some tarnishing. The spool holder metal shaft is missing and will need to be replaced. It is in good shape though and will look great with some TLC. Measurements are 7" long x 7"high x 3 1/2" deep. A nice wooden platform in black with gold trim was made as a mount for display. Sweet Little Singer This is a wonderful old miniature Singer cast iron sewing machine. A diminutive"Model 20" from the late 1920s to 1930s. These were made and marketed as a child's first sewing machine and were also useful for travel. This model, with oval pedestal and wood knob, is in very nice condition. Though could use a cleaning and oiling. The mechanism turns smoothly and the needle and parts appear to move as designed. I have not tested it with thread and fabric. There are some light scuffs and dings- nothing major- and just a bit of surface rust that a cleaning would take care of. The spool pin was missing so I purchased a replacement and I will also include new spool felts and needle. The fabric guide is missing but it's not a necessity and replacements are available. Rare Singer Hand Crank Sewing Machine Childs Toy Model K20 In Wooden Case Singer Hand Crank Sewing Machine Childs Toy Model#20 In Wooden Case made in Turkey This m odel K- 20 toy sewing machine features the black painted 7-spoke hand wheel with a chrome plated rim. It has the thread route numbering system. Which makes it easy to use. Crank or treadle sewing machines like these are nearly indestructible. This machine has no bobbin. It creates a chain stitch. The Singer model 20 was made at the Elizabeth factory in New Jersey. USA, and was originally sold as a toy. First appearing around 1910 some 60 years after Isaac Merritt Singer founded the great Singer Manufacturing Company. Early Singer toy sewing machines were clearly aimed at the child market however later Singer toy sewing machines were sold as adult light portable machines as well ... moreas toys. This was probably to gain a foothold into the larger market of full-sized machines. In the 1950’s Singers resurrected the model in the late 1970’s for a short period. These models were manufactured in Turkey by Singer and are original Singer toy sewing machines built to a high specification. These models are now highly collectible because of the limited numbers and were simply called Singer k20 rather than Singer 20k. The machine comes with the original box and clamp to attach it to a table. The machine measures 7 1/8" wide. 6.5" high, and 3.5" in depth. The box measures 8.5" tall. 8.5" long, and 4.25" wide. When screw is removed it slides out of the box to be used& enjoyed. Clamp holds it in place for table top use. Works very well& stitches it makes are like that of an old adult Singer machine. Machine measures approx. 6& 1/2" high& 6& 3/4" wide to turn knob on handle. Wooden hinged lid box was made for the machine at a later time(it is not original but has protected the machine to be in the excellent vintage condition that it is) It has a hinged lid& brass side handle to carry when not in use. Singer Model 20 Child's Sewing Machine 1914-1925 What a great estate find. I had fun doing the research on this one. This machine was first introduced in 1910 as a childs sewing machine. It was built and functions as a true machine. It is cast iron and metal and is meant to be clamped to a table to keep it steady while hand cranking. This version dates between 1914 and 1925. After 1925. They had stamped numbers on the thread path. I have a print out for the thread path( will include) These machines were intended for use by children to learn to sew. They stitch a chain stitch. there is no bobbin. There is a hook mechanism that catches the thread as the fabric moves forward. There is a stitch length adjustment as well. I cleaned this up a little. I know that more of the crud can be removed with solvents on the metal parts. I sewed a few ... moresamples with it and it really does a good job. Because it is a chain stitch. It can be easily removed. The clamp in the picture is not original.it is from my toolbox. I will include it because this tiny machine need to be anchored to the table in order to clamp it. The thread post and the metal discs on the tension spring have been replaced. There is no fabric guide. It has the rest of it's parts. Antique Singer Model 20-2 Child's Miniature Toy Chain Stitch Sewing Machine. Ca.1914. This is the model with the added tension discs and 7-spoke handwheel but without the numbered thread path. The machine works smoothly. There is some enamel loss where the machine would get clamped. The rest of the enamel is nearly flawless. The decals are very crisp and legible. The nickel plating has been well retained with only minor loss; mostly needs a polish. Lovely green felt pad under the base. Excellent condition.

Singer Childs Sewing Machine C.1910-1913 First Model
This is the first model(20-1) of a Singer Childs Sewing Machine with the four spoke wheel. C. 1910-1913. The condition is nice overall and everything seems to operate well. It does show signs of age and use with some nickel wear on the wheel surface and some light tarnishing on some of the metal parts, which has cleaned up nicely. The paint is very good as is the lettering and stenciling. It looks better than my description and is a nice example of the earliest Model 20-1 Childs Machine.

This early model did not come with the route numbering for threading the machine. There is some paint loss on the word"Singer" on the front and also some paint loss on the word"Singer" on the back. The Singer logo is painted in gold on the back of the machine and is intact. There is some paint loss on the base where the clamp sits to clamp it to the table. This model has the oval base and did not come with felt on the bottom. Please see photos for condition. The case measures 30 1/2 in high. 31 1/2 in long, and 16 1/4 in deep. A full size machine that I have measures 30 1/2 in high but is 36 1/4 in long and 18 in deep. Is narrower in the pedal area. It is in Original as found condition with some scratches in the finish. The stencils look good on the front of the machine but are dirty and a little blistered on the back but over all in very good condition. Vintage Singer #20 Childs Toy Small Electric Sewing Machine WORKING
Up for auction is this model 20 Singer child’s electric sewing machine. It is still in great condition and the motor works well. The only thing it needs is a new drive belt. The machine weighs 5 ¼ pounds and measures 7 ½” high. 6” wide and 6” deep. It has an on/off button in the front of the machine. There is a printed#5 on the top of the machine near the front and an engraved#3 on the top near the rear of the machine. Antique Small Singer Sewing Machine Childs Turn Handle Estate Sale Find Children
It looks like it needs a needle but when you turn the handle the needle area does go up and down. It shows on the front and back in gold gild writing"SINGER" and there is a metal label on the front under the sewing area that reads"THE SINGER MANFG. CO. TRADE MARK" with the Singer logo all in black and gold. Please see all photos to make sure all the extended parts are on top as I am not familiar with this machine from others. It is 7" wide and 5 1/2" high and 3 1/2" deep. My photos are a little too lite. This just needs a quick extra dust removal with a damp cloth. I don't want to use wrong cleaners on this. This toy is in very good condition for being over 100 years old. The nickel plating is shiny and the paint is bright and shiny also with just a few minor blemishes. The machine comes with the original clamp and box. The box was missing the bottom and has a couple off tears in the card board(I replaced the missing bottom) The machine is missing the crank knob as a lot of this model do because the knob must be removed to put machine in the box.
