Sweet Little Singer This is a wonderful old miniature Singer cast iron sewing machine. A diminutive"Model 20" from the late 1920s to 1930s. These were made and marketed as a child's first sewing machine and were also useful for travel. This model, with oval pedestal and wood knob, is in very nice condition. Though could use a cleaning and oiling. The mechanism turns smoothly and the needle and parts appear to move as designed. I have not tested it with thread and fabric. There are some light scuffs and dings- nothing major- and just a bit of surface rust that a cleaning would take care of. The spool pin was missing so I purchased a replacement and I will also include new spool felts and needle. The fabric guide is missing but it's not a necessity and replacements are available. 1920's Antique Singer Mini Sewing Machine Child's Model/Toy Excellent Wkg.Cond.
This is really a special piece of history. I have read they were used for Singer Salesman's Samples, Children's toys or to teach a child to mend or sew doll clothes. This one has been in my family since I can remember, my Grandmother tried to teach me to sew on it, I never caught on, she herself was a master Seamstress. This was on display on her dresser forever and has been well maintained. She did use it from time to time. Could use a dusting and/or polishing. It is in excellent vintage working condition and produces a stitch, in very clean condition, with wear appropriate for it's age and use. Here is a working vintage Singer is an American made MODEL-128. Born DECEMBER-4-1923. The B.T.7 MOTOR and FOOT CONTROL were designed and patented by the PHILIP DIEHL MFG CO. This is the Motor and F/C that propelled Singer to the top in the sewing world. This one is motorized, not the hand crank model. Serial number is G0510560. Which according to the Singer serial number database dates this machine to 1923. Serial number on the motor is 2800015. Comes with foot operated motor controller. Good condition. Some wear on the outside of the case and some very slight wear on the paint on the bottom of the front of the machine. Nice working machine for the collector. No international shipping on this item due to its weight. Please do not ask. Machine is heavy. The problem is that when I looked up that number( to view table) I got the following information: Model 15, 50000 manufactured, November 3, 1920. I was puzzled by the Model 15 and looked around to see if a Model 15 had the red eye decals. I don't see any site that says the model 15 ever had those decals(all red eyes were model 66) so I suspect that I read the number wrong or the information in the table is wrong. It's definitely an old machine, so I just don't know. Any help would be appreciated. to see an interesting profile of the Model 66. The cabinet is a 7 drawer affair. The middle drawer is locked and I don't have the key. I can access the back side of the drawer from inside the cabinet and can say that it is full of bobbins. The other drawers have various items. The attachments are included. But the box was old& disposed of and put into a plastic case which is regretable. The Wood Cabinet. I believe is referred to as Tiger Wood? which looks great everywhere except the one spot on the left side where you can view the attachments laying in the photo. 12 photos were not enough for this one. So if there are places you want to view that are not in the photos. I will be happy to take even more than the 25 that I have. The serial number shows it to be from 1920. The family member purchased it used in early 1930's. and it has been in the family since. She said the spot was caused by a plant sitting there for years ... moreafter she stopped using it when she purchased an electric.She watered the plant often and did not realize it was leaking and causing the wood to mar in that area. It was re-sanded& blended.and does not look as noticeable when polished to blend in more with the wood around it. It doesn't show at all when the top is attached& opened out to display the machine in the open position. We do not have the top attached because of the area where it sits. There is not room for it. Cabinet Measures overall approx. 29" Tall x 36-1/2" wide without top opened out x 18" deep. Machine measures approx. 16-1/2" wide x 9-3/4" tall x 7" deep. I believe it to be a working machine if it had a belt. But cannot confirm this. The family member continued to use it up until she purchased an electric Singer. Good Antique/Vintage Condition showing signs of age& wear. The cabinet has a flaw in the wood on the top left. The Center drawer or other drawers do not open& close easily. This is an Antique Singer Treadle Sewing Machine Head. Model 66-1 with Red Eye decals. This machine was upgraded at one time to a side clamping foot. It will use all common vintage Singer low shank attachments and feet. Serial number G8490938 dates this machine to November 3. 1920. I offer 10 years experience servicing sewing machines! I also list all"detailed" positives and negatives. So there are no surprises when your machine arrives. I even provide video proof that this machine works! This machine has been properly cleaned and oiled. The machine is 100% functional! All knobs turn with ease. The timing was adjusted and it sews very well. Please see the picture of the stitch. I even took the bobbin case a part and cleaned it so it has smooth thread draw. It sewed 6 layers of denim with ease. The front edge of the base has chipped paint. There are a some minor blemishes where rubber pads from a foot pedal rested. The back right corner had 2 holes drilled in it. They were filled with very strong 2-part epoxy paste and touched up with black paint. The decals are mostly complete with some wear along the front edge and some assorted scratches. The decals are slightly darker than normal. The decals on the back right side are darker. There is some mild wear here and there. All chrome pieces have a good antique shine with slight discoloration. Some parts are slightly darker like the presser foot lift lever and some thumbscrews. Antique Singer portable sewing machine. Model 15 serial number G8084559. I looked this machine up on 3 different sites and it was manufactured in 1920. Case looks too be newer. I am not sure. Plugged unit in, light turns on and machine does rotate. I do not sew, so i cannot tell you if it actually can. Belt seemed a bit loose. Foot pedal has multiple speeds and i went through them and machine responded accordingly. Very ornate looking case and front plate. Few nicks and scuffs on the machine but still looks nice for its age. Carry case is a bit scuffed nicked and dirty, but it is solid. Would make a great looking antique decoration piece, or possible could be used. Unit is very heavy and shipping will reflect that. This entirely original ca. 1915 Singer sewing machine head is in nearly perfect condition. Very few scratches or blemishes can be seen on the paint and ornate flower stencils and designs. It needs a little oil. But with that would run well. The Red Eye model was a special variation of the"normal" Singer head, with more ornate and unusual decorations. This is a great find! I am selling this for my neighbor who got it from his aunt. He believes it is a one owner and is in beautiful condition. See the pictures. It is a 1920 Red eye Singer. ID# G7852069. There are two small flaws in it. A small nick on the top cover, see picture and the bottom has a small piece of wood missing but have the piece, easy repair, but not visable. The chrome has some rusting but adds patina to it. It needs a new belt if you are to operate it and oiling and a bobbin cover. It also has a drawer of attachments. Antique 1920 Singer Sewing Machine with original coffin case.
For sale is an antique Singer sewing machine manufactured in 1920 according to the serial number. Machine is in great unrestored original condition with only a tiny amount of missing filigree. Does not have a motor. Pedals, or light. The unit spins easily. Has The Singer Manufacturing Co. on the top and Great Britain printed on back of the head. Serial# Y1071534. Comes with the original wood coffin shaped carrying case that is in fair condition. Case looks great but is missing the bottom panel and bottom lock latches and key. Again the machine itself is in great condition and would look great in any collection.
