1911 - Singer Treadle Sewing Machine Cabinet Side Drawer 6 Model 66-16 Red Eye
SINGER TREADLE SEWING MACHINE DRAWERS- RED EYE MODEL 66-116 Up for auction are six drawers and the two internal drawer holders/ cabinets from a Model 66-16 Red Eye Singer Treadle Sewing Machine from 1911. The drawers are made of quartersawn oak. Both the front of the drawers and sides of the cabinets have carved decorative accents. The drawers measure approximately 11-5/8" deep by 4-3/8" wide. The cabinet portions that hold the drawers measure 14" deep by 5-1/2" wide and approximately 14-3/4" tall. One drawer is missing its circular center pull as shown in the fourth photo. Aside from this flaw. The wood has only a couple of minor dents/ dings, and contact paper has been applied to the interior of the drawers. Antique Singer Treadle Sewing Machine Model 66 Red Eye - 1917
Antique Singer treadle sewing machine cabinet with a 1917 model 66 head in it. In very nice shape for its age. All parts and wheels on the cast iron base move freely. The legs are marked Singer Manufacturing CO. The spring is intact on the belt shifter and comes with the metal pitman arm. The mounting holes are 11 1/8" center to center(front to back) and 22 3/8" center to center(length wise) and stands approximately 28 1/8" tall. Treadle will be dismantled for shipping. The head is a model 66 and the serial number on the machine is G5546378. Most of the decals are crisp and full of color and others show wear. There is little rust on metal parts. I turn the balance wheel and the needle goes up and down with little effort. The head could use an oiling. All Original- Antique Singer Treadle Sewing Machine includes Original Case Model 66-1 with Red Eye decals. This has the rear clamping foot. This sewing machine works Great! This Antique Singer Sewing machine comes on its Original stand that supports the sewing machine and holds some sewing items. There are 2 small strips of black tape on the cords. I removed the black tape and the only reason it was placed there is to cover a wire that is showing. The cord and wires are all in tact and in working condition. There is no hand crank on the wheel. The light even works on this antique sewing machine. This same make and model sewing machine just sold on 11/19 for $192.50. This listing offers a vintage Singer model 66 Red Eye sewing machine. The serial number is G9081806 which dates this to 1921. I am not a sewer. So I cannot state the ability of this unit to stitch. But all moving parts appear to move and turn very smoothly without any hitch or hesitation. As stated in condition description- The machine shows many scratches and signs of overall wear from many years of use. The wood work surface has significant wear. But is still solid. The cast iron treadle base is solid with no signs of breakage. Treadle works smoothly. Please see pictures as they are a part of the description. There is some minor rusting and corrosion. Etc. I guess I could go on with every little imperfection, but I think you will find this a very operable machine with a great base and restorable woodwork. Serviced Antique 1924 Singer 66-4 Red Eye Treadle Sewing Machine WORKS See Video
This is a Rare Antique Singer Treadle Sewing Machine Head. Model 66-4 with Red Eye decals. This has the side clamping foot so it can use the common Singer low shank side clamping feet. Singer started using the side clamping foot for the 66 somewhere around March. 1923, which made the 66-1 become the 66-4. All other 66's were rear clamping feet up to early 1923. Serial number AA069712 dates this machine to September 23. 1924. This is from the first of only two batches of model 66's using the AA serial numbers made in 1924, Sept and Dec. All other Red Eyes, up to this point were G serial numbers. This machine has been properly cleaned and oiled. The timing was checked and it sews very well. Please see the picture of the stitch. I even took the bobbin case a part and cleaned it so it has smooth thread draw. It sewed 6 layers of denim ... morewith ease. The stitch is equal on both sides. Here is HD video of this actual machine working. PLEASE NOTE: The wood stand supporting the machine and the hand crank seen in the video are NOT INCLUDED and are NOT FOR SALE. They are for demonstration purposes only. There are modern handcranks available from other sellers on eBay, usually around $15. It comes with 2 bobbins. The bobbin winder has a new rubber wheel and works. Overall. This machine has a crackled appearance with flaked wear to the bottom decals and normal signs of use. The paint has a semi-flat appearance. There are some chips along the top. The finish on the deck is crackled with some scratches and nicks. There is light crackling on the rest of the body. The front edge of the base has some chips. The decals are mostly complete with flaked wear on the bottom and some flakes here and there on the rest of the machine. The decals on the backside are darker. All chrome pieces have an aged appearance. Some parts like the bobbin winder are darker than others. The nose and round plates are a little dark in the grooves. The serial number is hard to read. I looked several times with a variety of magnifying glasses and came up with G8446206 each time. The problem is that when I looked up that number( to view table) I got the following information: Model 15, 50000 manufactured, November 3, 1920. I was puzzled by the Model 15 and looked around to see if a Model 15 had the red eye decals. I don't see any site that says the model 15 ever had those decals(all red eyes were model 66) so I suspect that I read the number wrong or the information in the table is wrong. It's definitely an old machine, so I just don't know. Any help would be appreciated. to see an interesting profile of the Model 66. The cabinet is a 7 drawer affair. The middle drawer is locked and I don't have the key. I can access the back side of the drawer from inside the cabinet and can say that it is full of bobbins. The other drawers have various items. A 1914 hand crank red eye singer model 66. Serial#G3807136. Comes with a beautiful wooden case that has a working key and 4 bobbins! One of the hinges of the case is broken. The crank works great! The needle moves smoothly. But i can't seem to thread the bobbin out to the top. You can wind the bobbin, but you just need to put pressure on that specific part where it winds the bobbin. Includes the remains of the original manual. You might be able to photocopy it as most of it is left, but the paper is starting to chip and decay and fall apart in spots. Most of the instructions if not all are there. Includes some of the feet and attachments in the photos which I rarely get with these types of machines and in such nice condition. Paint loss and wear as well as scuffs and scratches, soiling, and grime on the machine. Though not much in terms of corrosion which I often see with these, this was most likely an inside storage for most of its life vs being put in a garage or barn as I often see. At some point the woman ended up getting the worlds fair attachment as well. Shipping will be one of two options, if your close to a greyhound bus station within reasonable driving distance or USPS. This is a Serviced Antique Singer Treadle Sewing Machine Head. Model 66-1 Upgraded to a 66-4 with Red Eye decals. This has the side clamping foot so it can use the common Singer low shank side clamping feet. Singer started using the side clamping foot for the 66 in March. 1923, which made the 66-1 become the 66-4. All other 66's were rear clamping feet before March, 1923. This machine was upgraded at some time to give it the side clamping foot. Serial number G9746742 dates this machine to January 9. 1923. I offer 10 years experience servicing sewing machines! I also list all"detailed" positives and negatives. So there are no surprises when your machine arrives. I even provide video proof that this machine works! ANTIQUE VINTAGE 1916 SINGER 66 RED EYE TREADLE SEWING MACHINE HEAD with BASE As far as I can tell this is a functioning machine. CONDITION: I did a limited test on loading the bobbin. Even though the rubber drive wheel seems like it should be replaced it still drives the bobbin without slipping. I tested the stitching and it has equal stitch on both sides. Decals show some wear. Others are crisp. The outside of the machine needs more cleaning· The bobbin area is fairly clean. See pictures. The machine is lubricated· I made a stand for the machine. It is nothing fancy. But it does the job. It is made from 1” PVC board and needs to be painted better than I did. I am not an expert in sewing machines. In the last couple of days I learned enough to test it. In order to see if it is OK to sell. I learned that some sellers claim that their ... moremachines have free motion. But that does not mean that they will sew properly. Without seeing the stitch pattern you cannot be positive that it will work properly without some kind of repair. One problem that can happen in these machines is that the needle movement and shuttle get out of synch. If they are not properly synchronized. The needle will not pick up the bobbin thread or it may skip stitches here and there. Among other problems. The stitching may not be equal. So you do need to know what you are buying. But i removed the head from an old Singer treadle unit which i still have) This machine sews very well with the hand crank on(see my sew test) the entire unit has been: restored to a very fine looking& working order. here's what i did to improve this machine& hand crank: i cleaned and polished all metal parts.added a new needle. Red spool pin felt, winder tire& a new hand crank(i added some washers, some wire& a spacer to improve the tightness and functioning)touched-up black paint chips on the entire machine, touched-up decals where needed by hand(major wear areas were the front left sewing area, to the right of the spool ... morepin& most of the treadle belt guard)clear coated the upper part of the machine to protect it and give it a glassy like-new appearance.sew tested and adjusted the machine.oiled, lubricated& adjusted mechanical parts the machine until the machine operated very smoothly.disassembled and thoroughly cleaned the bobbin winder, tension unit, all parts in the sewing head area& the threads of the stitch length knob.and i thoroughly cleaned& adjusted the light. the light's cord is about 7 1/2' feet long. i cleaned the original treadle hinges, on the back side of the machine, as well. look at& study my pictures for more detail& visual information. as always. You are looking at an original Singer Treadle sewing machine. This one appear to be made in 1910 via the#G663063. It has the original leather belt still intact and appears to work well. There are some accessories included with it but I am unsure as to each pieces function. The cabinet still has the original key and is very solid. The wood shows it's signs of use and age by the marks and scratches but would look gorgeous if refinished. The sewing machine is dirty and has a layer of what appears to be grease over it but the previous owners were smokers. I cleaned a couple of spots and if not done carefully most of the design could easily come off as some is gone already so I decided to let the new owner clean as they will. The cabinet is in poor condition as you can see from photos. One knob on the drawer is missing. There was a bag of attachments in drawer which I assume belong to this machine. This is an Antique Singer Treadle Sewing Machine Head. This machine has also been upgraded to a side clamping foot using genuine antique Singer parts! This will allow you to use all common Singer low shank. Side clamping feet and attachments. This machine originally had a rear clamping foot. This would make this machine a 66-4, but they were not actually released until March, 1923. Serial number G7360005 dates this machine to September 9. 1919. Antique 1920 Singer Sewing Machine Model/Class 66 Red Eye Treadle Cabinet
I am selling this for my neighbor who got it from his aunt. He believes it is a one owner and is in beautiful condition. See the pictures. It is a 1920 Red eye Singer. ID# G7852069. There are two small flaws in it. A small nick on the top cover, see picture and the bottom has a small piece of wood missing but have the piece, easy repair, but not visable. The chrome has some rusting but adds patina to it. It needs a new belt if you are to operate it and oiling and a bobbin cover. It also has a drawer of attachments.
