1920s Singer Model 20 Childs Mini Sewing Machine- All Original, Works Well
Offered here is a 1920s cast iron child's mini sewing machine. Model 20 by Singer. It is in working condition. With original parts. There is a needle installed. And there is no fabric guide. The mechanism runs smoothly. There is some minor paint loss of the black enamel here and there(see pics) The gold lettering and Singer logo are 99% + all there. The chrome and metal pieces look like they can be shined up with proper cleaning and the plate shows some tarnishing. The spool holder metal shaft is missing and will need to be replaced. It is in good shape though and will look great with some TLC. Measurements are 7" long x 7"high x 3 1/2" deep. A nice wooden platform in black with gold trim was made as a mount for display. The black paint is free from scratches and retains its original shine. There is some wear to the varnish where a clamp would hold the foot down. The lettering shows a little wear but not much and still looks fantastic. The bare metal pieces are free from surface oxidation and remain shiny. There is an original needle included as well. The felt foot is excellent with a few tiny holes here and there. But they can’t be seen while the machine is standing on the shelf. The wooden handle is excellent as well with very little wear to the black paint. Basically… this machine is top-notch! Don’t pass up this beautiful example of Singer craftsmanship! There are several attachments that are pictured. Also included are 14 bobbins and 6 extra needles. The serial number is hard to read but it starts with a G dating the machine to the 1920s. The decals on this machine are very pretty and vibrant. See pictures. The hand crank is not original to this the machine but fits great. The bobbin shuttle is present and looks good. I can not get the needle to move up and down so it will need some work. The screws that hold the machine to the wood base are missing. Up for bid is a Rare Singer 11w6 Sewing Machine. I purchased this machine a few years ago at an auction. The previous owner told me that this machine came out of the old Rayon Factory in Ashtabula. Ohio. The machine is marked IRC. This machine was either used by hand crank or by using overhead belts that ran throughout the factory. The seat has been upholstered. I believe there is some sort of knee operated switch that is missing. There are miscellaneous scratches and some extra screws that have been put into the cabinet. Overall the machine appears to be Original and all there. Machine operates smoothly and as it should when cranked by hand. But I have not tried sewing with it. Singer 101 Sewing Machine in Library Cabinet with some attachments& bobbins. PICKUP ONLY in Berkshire County. Western Massachusetts. Yes. This is a model 101. This was a short-lived model version so it's hard to find and highly collectible. It has an interesting oil wicking system with tubes and felt wicks, much like some of the the industrial models. Missing the slide plate(to the left of the needle plate) which has been replaced with a piece of stiff cardboard. Vintage circa 1920's. Includes a"Library Cabinet" Also a hard-to-find version of the old singer cabinets, but it's cosmetically in fair shape especially on the top when it's closed up. Also includes a box with some attachments and extra bobbins. The motor does run. I replaced the old wiring and hooked up a modern foot controller. It's a bit slow ... moreand needs some attention. But I think that it's worthy of further restoration efforts. I'm preparing to move out of state to a very small house, so I have to downsize. We have a beautiful antique New Home treadle sewing machine that was recently acquired from an estate sale. Daughter of estate said its from around 1922 and still works. I haven't used it myself but all parts seemed to move. Including the needle sewing up and down when turned. It has not been restored and is all original, still having its original leather belt. Aside from a few small chips on the edges here and there, and some natural aging, its otherwise in decent shape. Has the black metal box with attachments. Here is a neat old sewing machine apparatus. Including a 19th century sewing machine made by Willcox& Gibbs of New York. This is cast iron with a nickeled steel plate showing rust. It appears this machine was later adapted to use a 1920s motor that is mounted on the same wooden board, made by the National Sewing Motor with cord for steel foot pedal to operate. The original cloth cord and foot pedal are included. Some use wear and rust as shown in photos, with age wear and dirt. Surely will clean up well. 1920s VIntage WORKING In ORIG. CABINET NEW HOME WESTINGHOUSE SEWING MACHINE
Here is a wonderful Antique Sewing Machine in a gorgeous cabinet. The cabinet looks like a end table. Closed the cabinet is 23 by 17.5 by 31 inches tall and darker I believe cherry wood. Solid not veneer original hardware pulls. The machine works when plugged in. I switched all the switches. The light goes on and the knee pedal works all the needle speed choices. It has a needle. And is sold as explained I believe complete condition. The machine is a New Home by Westinghouse brand. Bronze heavy metal Art Nouveau style amazing graphics. The door holds the original brown swirled early plastic tray. It says made in USA And New Home and has a Greyhound Dog symbol as well. Very beautiful. Wonderful condition. See photos. This tiny"Little Giant" antique toy sewing machine was made by F.W. Muller. Berlin Germany 1918-1920. It comes in its original box along with its original sweet little heart screwdriver, clamp, and brochure. Stamped"Made in Germany" on the base in gold paint. Number in plate 247754. However the little sewing machine was referred to as No. 0. Measurements: 5" high x 1 1/2" deep(base) x 4 1/2"wide. Wheel 2" diam. Box: 5 1/2" x 5" The box cover has a wonderful colored graphic of mother. Child and the little machine. Below center is stamped"Made in Germany" The brochure or advertisement was tucked inside the box. It was clipped from Comfort Magazine. Augusta, Maine. The little machine was a premium for 4 one year subscriptions to their magazine. Condition: Machine is in wonderful working ... morecondition. Nice gold graphics. No rust that I can see. The base has a few very miniscule scrapes. No repainting. All parts original. Clamp is like new. Screwdriver is a little tiny bit tweaked on the tip. Hard to see but I do want to mention it. Brochure/advertisement is brown with age and fragile. It can be handled easily with care. The full page is complete and fascinating to read.
