Original MINNESOTA Treadle Sewing Machine in Tiger Oak Cabinet - early 1900's
This is a very nice Antique Minnesota treadle sewing machine. All original. From the early 1900s. It was my grandmother's who. I believe, bought it from Sears when she was young. It has been in my parents' basement for many years until they moved this spring, now it's in storage and needs to find a new home. The sewing machine is enclosed in an oak cabinet when not in use. I believe it's called a"Tiger Oak" style cabinet. Please refer to photos to see it in open and closed positions. I was only able to take a few photos on the way to storage. Please let them be your guide as to the aesthetic condition. Overall. It's very nice with minimal wear/ corrosion. It should be able to be restored to excellent condition with a minimal amount of work. Size: When closed the cabinet measures around 23" wide. 18" ... moredeep and 30" or so tall. Condition: The belt has broken from age but aside from this. I believe this machine is still in working condition. The wheels and mechanisms all moved when I tried to move them; nothing was frozen. A couple of the wood trim pieces were missing(see photos) Aside from this, there was only a little superficial delamination of the wood in a couple spots; nothing which could not be fixed in capable hands. One of the best Treadle Sewing Machines I've seen! This is a Minnesota sewing machine with a quarter sewed oak cabinet has stunning graining to the wood. The pictures say it all. Front drawers have beautiful curved fronts with wonderful carved adornments. The treadle sewing machine is original and complete, along with the original box of attachments that come with it. Hardware is also original. I have never used the sewing machine for anything other than a lamp table, which really works great. If you have been looking for a great antique sewing machine, this one is really nice, one of the best! This head needs a cabinet to call her own. SMOOTH and quiet when moving the hand wheel. NOT LOCKED UP. Vibrating shuttle intact with shuttle bobbin included. Minnesota on the front. The letter E on the bottom base. I have no clue on date of manufacture other than seeing a Sears ad from 1903 with this same machine in a 5-drawer cabinet. This may show a shine to it in the pictures, but it was due to using a special sewing machine cleaning agent to protect the decals from damage. SINGER SEWING MACHINE'MINNESOTA- MODEL K' TREADLE SEWING MACHINE and ORIGINAL MANUAL& DOCUMENTS This treadle sewing machine was made by Singer in 1910. The serial number on it is K2285. The bottom is the cast iron treadle. Which still has a the leather rope. It is ripped. It possibly may be repaired or a new one found to replace it. ORIGINAL SINGER INSTRUCTION MANUAL AND LETTER IS INCLUDED. This is a really nice piece for you home. I DO HAVE THE WOODEN COVER THAT COMES WITH THE SEWING MACHINE. For sale I have an antique Treadle sewing machine w/ attachments It was from a Minnesota Brand Sewing machine stand. The sewing Machine Stand itself and drawers. Are for sale in another auction of ours, We do not know if it works. Needs a little additional cleaning. We did not want to mess up any of the artwork on the machine so we only surface cleaned it.
