For your consideration I have this very NICE Estate Found ANTIQUE CHILDREN'S CASIGE SEWING MACHINE*METAL* Made in GERMANY.British Zone.ca. 1900-1910's Comes with Box& Paperwork. The machine seems to be in GREAT Condition.very well cared for. On one side is an"Angel" sitting on a cloud and the other is"Johnny Appleseed" or"William Tell" Machine works very easily when wheel is turned. Has the Casige logo. Eagle and key, stamped on the stitch plate. Needle is missing. All pressed steel construction with nickel plated table and cast iron wheel. From my understanding this type of machine was used in the German school system to teach young girls how to sew. Casige made child sewing machines from 1902 to 1970. Founded in 1901, Casige would become one of the best-selling toy makers of the 20th century. Their children's sewing machines were often characterized by whimsical tin lithographed embellishment. As this was technically considered a"learning" machine for young ladies new to the domestic arts. It features a lot of fun details that wouldn't normally be seen on a full-sized sewing machine. The black, tin body of the machine is covered in vibrant lithographed imagery. As you can see, the base is accented with Deco-style symmetrical lines in fun shades of red and gold. Each side features the"Casige" name under the company's Eagle logo. The decals on this example was found on just one other machine while doing research, and it was referred to as'Fairy Tale. The condition of this piece is visually very good. But when you look at some of the details, you can see that there is no post to hold the thread and it is missing the needle and the crank handle looks aged. Rare Pattern Child's Casige Sewing Machine with Tin Cover. Small Antique German Cast Iron Sewing Machine. The pattern appears to be Hummingbirds and Morning Glories. The cover is missing the top knob. And I have absolutely no idea on whether this machine is working or not. Has a needle holder with two needles in the drawer along with one accessory part. The screw in the front opens up the top to expose a neat little hidden drawer. I am sure you will be delighted with this old sewing machine in miniature. 11 1/4" long at base. This Antique Casige Toy Sewing Machine comes in the original cardboard box. I believe this model is from the 1910's or 1920's though I'm not certain of the exact age. The box is stamped with model No. 0. This sewing machine stitches fabric by turning the crank wheel with wooden knob. The crank works fairly well and the needle goes up and down. Up for auction this evening is an Estate fresh Antique Casige Model No. 3 Cast Iron Toy Sewing Machine. Estate fresh original condition. Looks to be in very nice condition, very nice original paint. Signed MADE IN GERMANY on the faceplate, no damage to the cast iron. Wheel turns get stuck in the middle and then needs to be forced but will turn all the way, needs some cleaning and oiling. Antique Original Toy Sewing Machine - Tiny 5" - Germany - Casige
This tiny sewing machine is in fair to good condition. It is by Casige and is German. Dates pre- WW II. I loved having it in my collection because of its tiny size. About 4" long and 5" tall(including spool pin) and 1 3/4" wide. It is numbered 62509. The wheel turns but there is a broken piece right in the front that comes loose when turned(see picture) The needle moves but I cannot move the foot except by forcing it up. No lifter that I can see. A true delight due to its size.
