It uses common Singer low ... moreshank attachments. All other Red Eye's had rear clamping feet before the 66-4 was released in 1923. There is no exact date when this change occured. But I have had 66-4's from March or April 1923. The 66 remained a side clamping foot from this point on, but the Red Eye decals were stopped shortly after. Serial number G0281156 dates this machine to August 27. 1923. In December, 2012, I sold G0285208, small world! This machine has been properly cleaned and oiled. The timing was checked and it sews very well. Please see the picture of the stitch. I even took the bobbin case a part and cleaned it so it has smooth thread draw. It sewed 6 layers of denim with ease. The stitch is equal on both sides. Here is HD video of this actual machine working. PLEASE NOTE: The wood stand supporting the machine and the handcrank seen in the video are NOT INCLUDED and are NOT FOR SALE. They are for demonstration purposes only! There is NO handcrank in this auction! It comes with 2 bobbins. The bobbin winder has a new rubber wheel and has been tested and works. Overall. This machine has a semi-shiny appearance. There is some wear, scratches and nicks. The deck has scratches and blemishes in the finish. There are also some chips and wear along the front edge. The decals have good color with some scratches and flaked wear. The green in the decals on the main body have flaked away on the backside. The bobbin winder decals are worn. All chrome pieces have a very nice appearance. Some parts on the bobbin winder are darker than others. The nose and round plates are in good condition, but the nose plate is a little dark deep in the grooves. The bobbin and throat plates have some fine scratches. There is no manual. The bobbin and throat plates have discolored speckles. It comes with 2 original bobbins. The bobbins have record grooves from being machined. So Buyer will need to replace this part. The machine has lost some of its lustre. Underside parts have rusted. Wood Table really needs a goods polishing, but appears to be free from cracks, although there are scratches and scuff marks on it. Iron is extremely dusty and needs to be cleaned. Antique NEW HOME Treadle Sewing Machine Head & Accesories Serial #4044240 1922
This Antique NEW HOME Treadle Sewing Machine has been gently restored. All the working parts move very easily and smoothly. The major external parts were disassembled to clean. None of the internal parts where removed but was reachable was cleaned. From experience and examining the external apperance this machine should be in fine working condition. The accesories were wiped cleaned then treated with mineral oil. What does gently restored mean? The overall objective is to preserve as much as the old tool or item with its lifetime patina as possible without the use of power tools. Metal is typically initially cleaned using mineral oil. Or a weak solution of washing soda and water and if necessary brief electrolysis to remove and or convert rust to black oxide. Whichever method is best, a scotch brite plastic cleaning pad is used with water ... moreso the underlying metal is not damaged. A heat gun is immediately used to blow dry and eliminate moisture which is followed by a hand rubbed coat of mineral oil. After letting the oil“soak in” for a day or so, the item is wiped cleaned then hand rub in bees wax to seal it. A weak solution of oil soap and water is used to remove grime, old oils and dirt from wood which is air or blowed dry with a heat gun. This is followed by a hand rub of“feed and wax" If the situation requires it, a soft brass bristle brush or“0000” steel wool is used occasionally. A couple of items should be noted. The first is this gentle process may not remove all rust or dirt, etc, as there is always a balance of limiting restoration to not affect patina. The second is that tools and items are not conditioned for use such as sharpening, tightening or replacement of parts. This is left up to the judgement of the new owner as there is a large range of utilization of older tools. Lastly, the item may have residual oil left in the cleaning process. This can be wiped off but the item may benefit from an additional application of clear oil to further enhance and stabilize the item for extended life. This is

1901 Antique Singer Sewing Machine Model 28k*PLEASE REVIEW MY FEEDBACK BEFORE BIDDING. This 1901 model 28k Singer has been in my family for over a century. The first owner was my great grandmother who handed it off to my grandmother in the 30’s. It was used by my grandmother until the late 80’s. Stored in my mother’s attic until the late 90’s, and is currently in my possession stationed in my living room. On many occasions as a child I watched my grandmother. Who owned very little, take great care of her sewing machine. This is the main reason it is in good condition for its age. Once her age prohibited her from using this sewing machine safely, we stored it in our attic far from her reach(her failing vision and arthritis was causing her to stitch her finger) only shining a flash light on it in the dark to show her it was safely stored away ... moreuntil she was well enough to use it again. This sewing machine is fully functional with all moving parts working smoothly. Serial Number starts with P65* indicating its manufactured date. And origin where it was manufactured. The frame is in excellent condition. The small wheels on the base still roll perfectly when moved room to room. Also. It has a“26” stamped on it(pictured) I have no idea what it means. I did a lot of research on its history. However, the 26 stamp is still unknown to me. Moreover, I am finding that most of these antique singers used less expensive metals, but this has the more expensive brass parts. If you can give more insight to these differences please email me any information you may have. Thank You! The original coffin cover is also included. It has all original parts to my knowledge. THE ONLY RESTORATION I PERFORMED: Polished Stainless Steel Plates Polishing of Brass Oiling of Wood Oiling of Cast Iron Oiling of Moving Parts Light Gluing of Small Wood Pieces I Chipped while moving room to room over the decades. This was made either 1910 or 1923. I searched the singer website and for the whole 7 numbers it wasn't listed. But if I use just the first 6 it shows 1910. If you know something please do share. It looks to be restored. There are spots in the wood where its been chipped then lacquered over. The machine looks to be repainted you can see rough not smooth finish at the base. It looks great they did a good job for what was there. It does work but the belts about to break so it will need a new belt. YOu can see at 6017 w franklin boise from 10-6 weekdays. This is local pickup only I will not ship something this large.

It looks like all the parts are available. Definitely needs work. I don't know enough about antique sewing machines to give much information on it. You would be buying this as is with no guarantees. Up for auction is this nice Singer treadle sewing machine. Based on the decals I believe this to be what is called the'Red Eye' made in 1918. Everything looks to be functional as all moving parts seem to move as they should. Also based on my remedial knowledge of sewing machines(I do not have a way to test fully) This machine may have some surface rust on a couple of spots but it doesn't feel like it, it is just dusty inside along with some lint from the last use. From the looks of the decals this was used a good bit. Please look at pictures close.
