Some parts like the needle clamp and thread tensioner are darker than others. The nose and round plates are a little dark in the grooves. Up for auction is a 1930 model 127 Singer"SPHINX" sewing machine head. We received this with some items we are disposing of for an estate sale. The serial number is AC975170. I checked with the ICMACS(International Sewing Machine Collectors Society) and learned the model number and date of origin. I am not that well versed in these old foot pump sewing machines. This one is NOT frozen. It does rotate but is tight. I feel the machine should work with some oil. Cleaning and servicing. Sold"as is" The graphics are good to be 80+ years old. Antique Singer Treadle Sewing Machine Model 127 Sphinx YR 1921 Champion Motor
Item description: Up for sell is an Antique Singer Treadle Sewing Machine Model# 127 with Sphinx print. The serial number is G9057134 and the model was produced in 1921. Also includes a Champion motor model# 24 and a Universal sewing machine foot control pedal with light and motor block. Condition: The sewing machine is in fair condition and seems to work as it should. I do not know much about these old sewing machines however. The wheel on the back. The needle, and bobbin all move smoothly. One of the slide plates comes on and off easily the other is stuck on the machine. The decals are faded to various degrees over the machine, please see pictures. There is some rust on the base of the machine. I plugged in the motor/light and they both worked, though I tried to test light later and it no longer worked. I assume the light just burnt out ... morebut I cannot confirm why it no longer lights. The belt is to lose and needs replaced. I wiped the machine down lightly, but did not attempt to clean it thoroughly as I did not want to damage the decals. Thorough cleaning both in& out includes high speed cleaning of most metal and bearing surfaces 4. Check mechanical tolerances to manufacturer's specification 5. Check condition of gears and replace as necessary 6. Grease gears and lubricate per factory specifications 7. Check and replace drive and timing belts as necessary 8. Disassemble. High speed clean, and index upper tension assembly for optimal tension control 9. Inspect oscillating/rotary hook. Feed dog assembly and drive, disassemble& clean bobbin case, presser foot ... moreassembly, needle bar assembly, zigzag drive system, cam stack and drive(if so equipped) main drive shaft, and clutch. Adjust as necessary 10. Reassemble machine and all sub systems. Including bobbin winding system and sewing lamp etc. 11. Set initial upper and lower tension. Needle height, time needle and hook, and feed dogs 12. Test sew and fine tune all systems 13. Old clear coat sanded off and a new clear coat sprayed on in a professional booth. Singer 127 27 Sphinx Treadle DRIP OIL PAN CATCH TRAY all mounts included
Original Singer Sphinx Treadle Drip Pan with mounts! I recovered this sad. Forgotten, and neglected machine from an antique dealer in my area. It was stored away in his warehouse for too many years. Unfortunately, the machine has lost most of its decals, and the base is gone. But, the drawers and other wood pieces are in fine shape and cleaned up quite nicely. I hope these pieces can find a good home. The drip pan being offered here is dressed with a beautiful dark wood stain. There are 4 mounts. 2 on each side that are used to screw into the bottom of the table top. One screw is missing(you can see this in the 2nd to last picture) but it does not affect its ability to hang properly. If you're picky about having it, a replacement should cost about a dime and can be easily found at your local hardware store. The veneer is very nice overall- ... more99% intact and attched(no need to reglue it anywhere) It does have a slight crack, which I tried to show in the last picture. The pan measures 18" long x 15" wide x 7" deep. It may fit other models, but I am unsure of which so please check your measurements. SHIPPING CHARGES WILL BE REFUNDED IF OVERPAID! Beautiful Restored Repaired 1923 Singer Sphinx Model 127 Electric Sewing Machine
this listing is for a: Beautiful Repaired. Restored& Serviced Electric Motor powered 1923 Singer Sphinx Model 127(sometimes called an Egyptian or Memphis) Sewing Machine that sews very well. it is using a.9 amp Delco motor. i repaired& fixed-up this beautiful 1923 electric(or hand crank compatible) sewing machine. repeating from above first) basically: i replaced the bobbin winder thread guide spring. Repaired a broken part of the"U" shaped area on the vertical connecting shaft(see my picture of it.it was repaired by using loctite cold weld bonding compound and krazy glue maximum bond.the part is working well now) replaced all the electrical wires/the motor and light wires were replaced just outside each part(cleaned the motor brushes and commutator, cleaned the foot controller contracts, soldered new wires to terminals ... moreinside the motor/light socket plug unit) added a new spool pin and felt pad, all parts in the sewing head were removed and cleaned/oiled, the winder unit was completely taken apart and cleaned/oiled.i thoroughly cleaned the machine(and parts) polished chrome, oiled, adjusted, sew tested& touched up the paint on some worn, scratched and/or chipped paint areas.i also repainted some areas of the motor, light cover, foot controller, winder unit and such. overall this machine is in excellent condition for it's age, with generally only minor wear and scratches to it's decals. the serial# is G0557512. also pictured are my sew test for this machine(using the entire stitch range from no movement to ~ 3/16" and a packet of 5 screws(this machine had a wooden base, but was not shipped to me.so, there's a screw for the motor/light unit and 4 screws for the hinges on the back of the machine) look at my pictures for more detail& visual information. visit this page for more details on this series of Singer sewing machines: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Singer_Model_27_and_127 update: 4-19-2014: the spool pin is now in it's proper hole(i've worked on enough of these type

Antique Singer Model 127 1922 Sphinx Memphis Pristine Working W/ Case Motorized
This Singer model 127(127-4) is in great condition. Manufactured in 1922 in New Jersey. It features the popular Sphinx or Memphis decals, all in perfect shape. This portable model includes a very attractive case. The motor is by Universal Motors and functions perfectly. The lamp works well. The serial number is G9587277. The dimensions are 14.5" x 7" The foot pedal appears to need repair. I understand that this is typically an easy repair and that this part may be easily replaced. There are a few imperfections in the wooden case(see photos) I will allow local pickup for anyone near Pittsburgh. The craftsmanship on this sewing machine is outstanding. This is not a run of the mill unit. This machine could be functional or a great decorative piece. You will be hard pressed to find a machine is better condition. Restored 1923 Singer Sphinx 127 Sewing Machine .9 Amp Delco Motor Sews Very Well
this listing is for a: Beautiful Restored Electric Light& Motor powered 1923 Singer Sphinx Model 127(sometimes called an Egyptian or Memphis) Sewing Machine that sews very well& strongly(see my sew tests where it sewed 3 layers of cotton fabric. 5 layers of suede leather& up to 5 layers of carhardt denim smoothly) this machine should fit in large Singer home/family treadle units and cabinets. it has round 2 hole screw hinges on it's backside(the 4 screws are not included) i replaced the motor belt and adjusted the motor mount. it's powered by a strong.9 amp Delco motor. the drive line on the machine is all metal.no plastic gears or parts. these machines were built& designed to last a long time. this one should as well. repeating from above first) i repaired. Fixed-up, cleaned-up, serviced& restored this 1923(for ... morehome/family use& designed) electric light& motor powered(hand crank and/or treadle compatible) sewing machine. basically: i touched-up decals details(for the most part, the original decals were complete except those behind the motor where it had bumped into them and worn sections away) touched up black paint on some worn, scratched and/or chipped paint areas& clear coated the upper side areas to protect, beautify, smooth-out& make the machine ready to display and/or sew on.replaced the bobbin winder thread guide spring, replaced the broken part/arm that moves on the upper shaft& then moves the shuttle.as well as replacing the cam for the part next to it on the upper shaft) the fact that this very important internal part was broken may well explain why the decals/details on this machine were so good when i bought it. the machine may not have been used much. now it's a fine restored beauty. continuing) i"replaced all the electrical wires( more) Added a new spool pin and felt pad, thoroughly cleaned the machine(and parts) polished chrome, oiled, adjusted, sew tested(3 tests) the motor and light wires were replaced just outside each part(cleaned the

Everything is original. Serial number 11037004 predates 1900. According to the Singer Sewing Machine Co. serial#s on singer sewing machines manufactured prior to 1900 are numbers only. After 1900, the serial numbers have a single or two-letter prefix. Ismacs International International Sewing Machine Collectors' Society shows that the serial number dates back to 1892. Restored 1911 Singer Sphinx Model 127 Treadle Sewing Machine Sews Very Well
this listing is for a: Restored 1911 Singer Sphinx Model 127 Treadle Sewing Machine That Sews Very Well(see my sew test) operates very smoothly(an electric motor or hand crank can be mounted on this machine) the entire machine has been restored to a close to original looking& working order machine. there are 2 patent dates on the slide plate on the sewing side: Dec 6- 1910& Aug. 1- 1911.also the slide plate says PATENTED CANADA. see the condition description above for some of details of this machine. here's more info: this machine sews very well now(see my sew test) all parts were removed and cleaned(except: the upper shaft. It's end parts, the arm around the upper shaft that moves the shuttle eventually and the inside parts of the stitch length knob.i cleaned what i could reach on these) i polished the parts i could polish. ... moreall parts of the sewing head, the bobbin winder, the tension unit and the shuttle/shuttle carrier(and all the parts in that area) were disassembled, cleaned, polished, oiled were needed and reassembled. ends of cast steel parts that have some movement to them were smoothed-up with a file. the bobbin in the shuttle(that comes with this machine) was wound on the winder and used in the sew test. the set screws for adding hinges to the back side of this machine are in place and cleaned-up. so overall. This is a very nice looking, very smoothly operating and very well sewing machine. this machine has an all metal drive-line that in a sense makes it a semi-industrial machine when compared to modern home sewing machines with plastic gears. Singer designed and made this machine for home/family use. this machine can sew leather. Denim, canvas and other such similar fabrics.it would also make an excellent addition to any sewing machine collection. it uses modern one side flat needles. look at& study my pictures for more detail& visual information. as always. NOTE: THIS IS PICK UP ONLY! Please READ the ad! Absolutely NO SHIPPING! This is a Complete Antique Singer Treadle Sewing Machine. Model 127 with Sphinx decals. Serial number G2475355 dates this machine to November 26. 1912. The treadle cabinet is from the early 1920's. I offer 10 years experience servicing sewing machines! I also list all"detailed" positives and negatives. So there are no surprises when your machine arrives. I even provide video proof that this machine works! Please read the steps that I perform on each machine sold as a"Serviced" machine. Then watch the video of the machine in action. The following steps are taken when servicing every machine I sell: All adjustment screws are tightened and any missing screws replaced with original parts, heavy build-up removed from the bobbin case and feed dog, needle ... morebar height and timing checked, lubricate all pivot points and moving parts, lint removed, verify feed dog position and functionality, verify the machine is 100% functional according to User's manual, run"full speed" stitch test in a treadle base on 6 layers of denim to ensure it does not miss any stitches, This machine has been serviced and is 100% functional! It was properly cleaned and oiled. The timing was checked and it sews very well. Please see the picture of the stitch. I even took the bobbin shuttle apart and cleaned it so it has smooth thread draw. It sewed 6 layers of denim with ease. The stitch is equal on both sides with no missed stitches.
